This all began a year ago.
When an unsuspecting teenager died from a car crash while he was walking casually inside his home.
Yes, you heard that right.
A car was speeding recklessly down his street, its driver having completely lost control.
The tires screeched against the asphalt before the vehicle slammed into the pavement with so much force that it launched into the air like something straight out of an action movie.
Unfortunately…
His house just happened to be in the perfect spot.
The car smashed straight through the front wall with an earth-shaking crash, sending bricks, wood, glass, and furniture flying everywhere.
Dust exploded throughout the living room as the teenager, who had been casually walking to the kitchen for a snack, slowly turned his head just in time to see several tons of speeding metal flying directly at him.
“…Huh?”
That was all he managed to say.
BOOM!
The car plowed straight into him without slowing down.
He didn’t die instantly, unfortunately.
Instead, he remained painfully conscious for the last few moments of his life, trapped beneath the wreckage while his vision slowly blurred.
To make matters infinitely worse…
The radio inside the wrecked car was still working.
And of all the songs in existence…
It was playing Taylor Swift.
The music echoed throughout the destroyed living room while he lay there bleeding out.
“…Seriously?” he muttered weakly.
It felt like the gods themselves were laughing at his ridiculous death.
Not only had he been killed by a flying car while inside his own house…
He had to spend his final moments listening to a breakup song.
If that wasn’t the universe trolling him, he didn’t know what was.
When he finally died…
His consciousness faded into darkness before he suddenly found himself standing inside an enormous castle-like building.
Massive marble pillars stretched toward a ceiling so high he couldn’t even see the top.
Crimson carpets ran through the center of an enormous throne room, illuminated by countless floating chandeliers that somehow had no visible chains holding them up.
Golden banners hung proudly along the walls, giving the entire place an ancient, majestic atmosphere.
At the far end of the room sat a large throne.
Standing beside it was a middle-aged dude.
The man had one hand pressed against his face while the other rested on his stomach.
His shoulders shook violently.
He was wheezing uncontrollably.
Even though he couldn’t confirm it…
He knew.
The bastard was laughing at him.
For a good two minutes, he stood there in complete silence while the mysterious man laughed so hard he nearly collapsed onto the floor.
Tears streamed from the man’s eyes.
Several times he looked like he’d finally calmed down…
Only to glance back at the teenager and burst into another fit of laughter.
The teenager simply stood there with a deadpan expression.
‘…Seriously?’
Eventually, the man took several deep breaths, wiped the tears from his eyes, and somehow managed to stop laughing.
Well…
Mostly.
He was still holding back the occasional snicker.
“Sorry, kid.
It’s just that…” He covered his mouth again, trying not to laugh.
“Man…
that was a really funny way to die.”
That confirmed his suspicions.
Unfortunately.
‘Acting like I chose to die like that,’ he thought, resisting the urge to throw something at the guy.
“I know you didn’t,” the man replied immediately.
“Even Death himself didn’t see that coming.
You should’ve seen his face.
The poor guy had to check his records three times just to make sure that actually happened.” He chuckled again before shaking his head.
“You really made my millennium, kid.
Whew…
alright, I’ll grant you a wish.”
Hearing that, the teenager’s eyes lit up.
A grin immediately spread across his face.
“I WISH FOR YOU TO GRANT EVERY WISH IN MY JOURNAL AT HO—”
“Fuck no!”
The man practically teleported in front of him just to shut him up before he could finish the sentence.
“…”
“…”
“What?”
The teenager blinked several times, completely baffled by the sudden intervention.
“What do you mean what?
Do you think I was born yesterday?” the man shot back, pointing an accusing finger at him.
“I’ve been doing this for longer than your planet has existed.
You’re not pulling that loophole nonsense on me.
I mean…”
Suddenly, a worn black journal appeared in the man’s hand out of nowhere.
He casually flipped through the pages.
“…Freaking Zeno…
Goku…
Saitama…
Gojo…
Rimuru Tempest…” His eyebrow twitched as he continued reading.
“Bloody Giorno as well?
Seriously?”
He slowly lowered the journal and stared at the teenager with complete disbelief.
“What are you even gonna do with all these powers?” he asked.
“Imagine I send you to Rent-a-Girlfriend instead of a world like Marvel or DC.”
The teenager didn’t even need to think.
“I would simply destroy the universe and rid the world of such a shit manga and anime.”
“…”
The man blinked once.
Then twice.
Before suddenly throwing his head back.
“PFFT—HAHAHAHAHAHA!!”
The throne room echoed with laughter.
He clutched his stomach as tears rolled down his cheeks, nearly dropping the journal in the process.
For an entire minute…The teenager had to stand there again.
Waiting for the guy to stop laughing.
Eventually, the man managed to calm himself down, wiping another tear from his eye.
“Whew…” he breathed.
“You’re one funny dude, kid.
Seriously.” He shook his head with a grin.
“Wow…
now I’m actually thinking about giving you an assistant for the world you’ll be heading to….Or should I say worlds…” He shrugged casually.
“Who knows.”
The teenager raised an eyebrow.
“What’s an assistant?”
“Oh, you know.” The man waved his hand dismissively.
“A really hot maid…
a secretary…
maybe even a character you like.”
He began counting on his fingers.
“Saeko Busujima…
Rangiku Matsumoto…
Zero Two…Makima….
umm who else.
I don’t remember but…..”
He looked up with an amused grin.
“You’d be surprised how many pervs wish for that instead of actual power.”
The teenager’s expression remained completely blank.
‘…An IQ too high?’ he wondered as he genuinely began contemplating his wish.
The man snapped his fingers in front of him.
“Oi.
Stop that, I don’t want to watch another fuck fest”
He closed the journal with a loud snap before tossing it over his shoulder, where it vanished into thin air.
“Alright, what’s your wish, kid?
I don’t have all the time in the world.”
He paused for a second before grinning.
“Well…
I do.” As if to prove his point, he proudly raised his wrist.
“I even have a watch for that.”
The teenager looked down.
It was a Rolex.
A ridiculously expensive one.
Somehow, the watch face displayed every single time zone on Earth simultaneously.
“…How does that even work?” he asked.
“No idea,” the man admitted cheerfully.
“Looks cool though.”
The teenager nodded in approval.
“You got that shit on, unc.”
“I know, kid.”The man smirked confidently before adjusting his sleeve.
For a brief moment…Neither of them spoke.
The teenager finally looked up.
“Okay…
my wish.”
He took a slow breath.”Well…
it’s something I’ve always wanted.”
His eyes narrowed slightly.”I want the powers of Yhwach from Bleach.”
The man’s smile widened, with no hesitation.
He simply snapped his fingers.
“Granted!”
Immediately, a blinding light erupted from his body, flooding the entire throne room in brilliant white.
“AH—!”
He instinctively threw an arm over his face as the intense glow swallowed everything around him.
Even with his eyes tightly shut, the light pierced through his eyelids.
A few seconds later…
The light gradually faded away.
As his vision adjusted, he realized a full-length mirror had somehow appeared directly in front of him.
He stared at his reflection.
“…”
“…WHAA—!”
“What happened?!
I was perfect before this!” he exclaimed in complete shock as he rushed toward the mirror.
His appearance had completely changed.
His messy hair was gone, replaced by silky black hair that framed his face neatly.
His once average features had become sharp and striking, giving him an almost unreal level of attractiveness.
His crimson eyes carried an unnatural depth to them, while his skin had become flawless.
Even his physique had changed, becoming lean, athletic, and well-proportioned.
He turned left.
Then right.
He even pinched his own cheek.
“…This isn’t me.”
The god burst into laughter.
“Yeah…
nah, bro.” He wiped a tear from his eye before pointing at him.
“You looked like the definition of scaring the hoes.”
The teenager’s eye twitched.
“You looked like you messed up the two-man.”
“…”
“You had a face only a mother could love.”
“…”
“And don’t even get me started on your weight.” The god struggled to keep a straight face.
“Your weight on a scale was literally ‘To Be Continued…'”
The insults echoed throughout the massive throne room.
He simply stared at the god blankly.
They hurt…But it was nothing he hadn’t heard before.
Besides, he had to admit, the glow-up wasn’t bad”…I’ll allow it,” he muttered while admiring himself one last time in the mirror.
The god snapped his fingers, causing the mirror to disappear into sparkling particles.
Immediately, the teenager looked back at him.
“So…Which world am I going to then?”
“Hmmm…” The god rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
“Lemme think.”
He began pacing around the throne room, occasionally muttering random world names to himself.
“Marvel?”
“Nah…”
“DC?”
“They’ve got enough problems.”
“Naruto?”
“…Maybe.”
After another minute of pretending to think far harder than necessary, his eyes suddenly lit up.
“I got it.”
The teenager waited expectantly.
“I’ll send you to three worlds.”
The teenager blinked.
“…Three?”
“Yep.”
“Firstly…”
The god paused dramatically.
“…”
“…”
“…Actually, it’ll be more fun if you find out when you get there.”
The teenager sighed.
“You know what…” He smiled instead.”Good idea.”
Already, excitement was beginning to build inside him.
“I’m ready.” ‘ I sound like SpongeBob ‘
The god grinned.
“Good.”
He raised a hand casually.
“Peace, son.”
With a simple flick of his fingers…
Space itself distorted.
The teenager’s body dissolved into countless particles of light before disappearing from the throne room entirely.
Silence returned.
The god stood there for several seconds.
Then suddenly froze.”…Oh damn.”
He slapped his forehead.
“I forgot to give him his assistant.” He stood there thinking for a moment before shrugging.
“…Oh well.”
He leaned back against his throne with a lazy grin.
“There’s enough baddies in his world anyway….He’ll be alright”
