Darius The feel of Lyra’s soft body in my hands was the first thing that woke me up that morning.
A small smile lifted my face and even though my eyes were still closed, her scent was still very much in the room, wrapping me up in a warm embrace.
“Lyra.” I whispered.
My cock thrusting in and out of her as she made those little whimpers did things to my head I couldn’t even begin to explain, things that I only thought could happen in my imagination but Lyra had given her all to me, every part of her body and for as long as I lived, I was going to cherish every part of it, making sure that she never had any regrets.
“She’s gone!
She’s gone!” That was the only warning I got before my door burst open to reveal Kieran with a frantic look on his face.
Still on the bed and drunk from sex and sleep, I could hardly understand what my beta was telling me but I knew it had to be serious based on the look on his face.
“Why the hell are you shouting?
It’s like seven in the morning.
Is the pack under attack?” My voice carried the weight of someone who had much sleep but yet, wouldn’t mind getting more.
I was naked, and with only the sheets covering my leg but I didn’t care.
Kieran had seen me in worse positions and this wouldn’t be the first time.
“Get your ass out of the bed Darius.
Something has happened.” Now, he got my attention especially with the way his voice carried the tone of someone who thought the world was coming to an end.
Rubbing my eyes, I yawned loudly even with the look of anger on his face.
I didn’t care because for the first time since I could remember, Lyra had given something I knew I would never be able to find elsewhere.
“What’s the problem.” “She’s gone!
Lyra is gone!” My eyes widened at the realization of what he just said.
I glanced at the spot where she should have been but it was empty and worse, cold like no one had slept there.
I looked around the room, past Kieran and towards the door but there was no sign of her.
She was truly gone.
She was gone like she never existed.
“What the fuck do you mean by gone?
Did she disappear?
Didn’t she pass those gates?” Now, i was wide awake, panic holding me down in a way I didn’t even think was possible.
I climbed out of the bed, swaying for a moment before finding my balance.
My thoughts traveled to different areas all in a bid to understand what had happened to the only woman I ever loved but the more I thought about it, the more confused I got.
“We checked the CCTV footage but she avoided the areas where the cameras covered.
She knew what she was doing.
I’m telling you, this girl is gone.” My hands shook, not with fear but with the amount of anger running through me at that moment.
I wanted to hit something, anything at all to diffuse the rage that was consuming but yet again, I didn’t want to be free from it because it was the only thing right now keeping me from collapsing in hurt and pain.
“We need to find her fast.
If her father is responsible for this, I think it’s time we take this to the Council of Elders so he can be summoned.
Kidnapping is a crime Alpha and we need to deal with it as fast as we can.” Kieran said, pacing.
I should be out there breaking things, showing the world what a lunatic I was but oddly enough I was calm, even too calm for comfort and I could tell that this frustrated my beta to say the least.
I felt my claws retract, then extend again, my control slipping like water through my fingers.
“Will you at least say something?
Your silence is even worse than what we’re currently facing!” he snapped.
“Give me some time to think.” He scoffed, walking towards me as he came to stand in front of me, fire blazing in his eyes.
He had many things to say but he knew he needed to pick the right words to say to me in a moment like this where I was volatile.
“I don’t know what she’s done to you man, but you need to snap out of it and go find your bride.
She could be getting slaughtered for all we care.” In a flash none of us expected, I slammed him hard on the wall which no doubt left a dent, my hands gripping his neck so tightly he struggled to breath.
Somehow, the image of Lyra getting killed didn’t quite sit well with me and he knew not to say it but because he was trying to get a reaction from me, it worked.
“Lyra is not dead and will never be.
We will find her even if it’s the last thing we did.
Do you understand me?” I growled, adding pressure.
He lifted his hands in surrender, unable to speak but i still held on, my eyes blazing with fury.
We stood there in uncomfortable silence, and I knew if he were to be human, he would have died from the pressure of my hands.
“Get my men together.
We are going to the Council of Elders and if Alpha Ronan is somehow responsible for her disappearance…” I didn’t need to complete my words because he understood what I said from the smirk on my face.
I needed to find Lyra and fast.
My entire existence depended on finding her.
“Welcome back.” he chuckled.
He walked out of the room, sounding the alarm of war.
This was war, my war.
And for anyone who would care to listen, I was going to ransack every corner of the pack and other towns to find my missing bride.
Lyra was mine and mine alone and if Alpha Ronan was somehow responsible for this or any other pack who thought they were brave enough to challenge me by kidnapping her, then they would learn exactly what kind of monster I am and why nobody touches what’s mine.
