He left me to think within the serenity of the woods, i watched birds flutter past but all I saw were the ashes floating off my childhood home, the firm ground underneath my feet growing small resilient flowers only seemed like the corpse of my loved ones.
This is how I’ve always seen the world since I was 12 years old.
I’m never at rest, even in my dreams they haunt me just as vividly.
I couldn’t stop thinking about them as much as I wanted to.
Eventually the sun had gone to sleep and the Moon was beginning to rise I didn’t realize just how long I had been there.
I had to go before the gates to the garden were locked , even though I was in a haste I made sure to thread carefully.
Only the grand alpha saw me as a person, is reflected in the way he spoke to me not like an object that needed to be budged and molded to his will but a person I could understand that I had really pushed him far before he decided he was going to ship me away.
But he wouldn’t be doing that if I didn’t have an effect on him.
As I made my way back to the annex it became painfully clear that the mate bond was not going to be enough.
He would spend the rest of his days in thoughts of me for sure in pain and misery of our separation with a string of fate tied between two of us.
But more I learned about him the more is became clear that he was no stranger to pain as well, he would bear it push it all down and pretend it wasn’t there to take the next step.
I knew it because that’s what I’ve been doing all these years to survive.
The moment I entered the annex I knew something was wrong, terribly wrong.
It was as empty as always gradually picking up those that I would have to clean.
Though nobody ever came to really inspect the work so I don’t know if I would even call it that.
Each step I took felt too loud, all around me was silence the wall felt too high too suffocating.
If he was here this place wouldn’t feel so big, partially because he seemed to occupy every space he entered without even trying overwhelming it with his presence the scent and his amazing body.
“Ah, Razor I know you are the one putting these ideas in my head.”
I said scolding my wolf.
“I wouldn’t be able to push these ideas to you if you didn’t want them deep down yourself admit it, he’s a catch,” she said proud of herself.
“I know he’s a catch that’s what I want him,”I tell my thirsty wolf.
She didn’t fully agree with me.
“Not just his body and you know it, Selena. That’s what you’re afraid of you’re okay it’s being physical with him but the moment there is a drop of emotion other than lust between the two of you…you get scared.. just like how it was in the words when you fell against him…”
I kept moving through the luxurious living room, not even working to address what she said because I knew I would only end up losing.
“It doesn’t matter what I want him for., he has given me a deadline razor, if I don’t give him a real reason to keep me other than my body then I’ll be sent off to the south… I can’t let that happen…”
My body stilled but only for a millisecond second, I had noticed something that sent the alarms in my head blurring but I kept moving as if I had not.
This motion stopped at the place where I had broken the vast and I noticed that I hadn’t done anything about the shards.
“I should probably clean this up…”I said louder than necessary then I bend down, in my crouch position I reached for one of the larger ones with a pointed tip griping it until I felt some of the shaper edges sink into my skin but I didn’t flinch I wouldn’t be here now if that was enough to break me.
Then in a breath I stood up turned around and held up the pointed tip it was now inches away from a bobbing Adam’s apple.
“Feisty, I like it.”
“You’re Ian’s brother,”
His hazel eyes widened with pure amusement then he laughed into her palm avoiding the shard in my hand.
“What’s so funny?”
“Nothing…” He said still chuckling behind his palm, “…
It’s just that I’ve never heard anyone call my brother so casually by his name..” he came closer until the tip of the shard was at his neck drawing a droplet of blood, “…
Especially not a slave…”
“Are you insane?!” I said with drawing destroyed but keeping it to my side ready to strike if I needed to.
“Just amused… It’s the first time I’m meeting a slave with a backbone,”
“You called me that twice…”I said gripping The shard harder than I needed to.
“But I am no Slave let me tell you that,”
He wasn’t taking me seriously, he was giving me the regard that one would give an immature child and its completely ruffled my mind.
So far he had not physically attacked me and I only defended myself never attacked.
He laughed again then went to settle in one of the cushion sofas, after he settled it he tapped the spot next to him.
“Sit… I came to share something with you.”
I raised one suspicious eyebrow at him.
He came in here calling me a slave so obviously he knew the rank I was recognized by and yet he still needed something from me now what could I have that one of the highest ranked walls in this pack would need.
Looks like I’m about to find out.
