I never expected my brother to have such a good eye.

Ever since we were young he was never big on relationships, many efforts were made to set him up with a woman-a lot of them coming from me I might add- but he had such high standards that none of them could ever meet.

Looks wise though I think this redhead slave isn’t half bad.Full novel: The Alpha’s Scarlet Slave — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Maybe when all of this is over, I’ll have her to myself.

In truth I’m tired of the usual rotation of women I have around me.

And she has a bit of spirit too.

Those are always fun to break.

“Aren’t you going to say anything?” She more or less demands now seated across from me instead of beside me like I had clearly hinted.

“I know everything about you, Selena Wrath.”

She absorbed her full name coming from another’s lips for the first time in years, she didn’t allow that expression to last for long, guarding it instantly like she had exposed a piece of herself that she shouldn’t.

“I don’t think you do …” Something changed in the air after I said her name, eyes slanted in alarm and alertness.

I liked it, seeing her looking like a trapped animal being pushed into a corner.

What will she do if I push her even further?

I stood up striding over then I planted my hand stop the sofa leaning down so that our breath mixed and mingled her eyes got sharper.

“I know about your first owner-”

“Nobody has ever owned me,”

“Those words are rather confident… Coming from a slave,”

Her face crumpled.

“You might call me to that… But I know who I am…”

So confident

So tempting to break.

“All right then Scarlet…”I said, “… Like I said I know everything about you how your father was once and illustrious Alpha.. how you were pushed into the slave market at only 12…. Now you are currently 21… You have had seven owners with the eight being my brother… Your first owner was a gamma… You bit off his ear…”

The way she said it without blinking.

Without any sort of fear.

I leaned even closer, she didn’t move away…

Didn’t break contact with me our eyes still locked together intensely.

To say I was amazed would be an understatement.

Even normal people struggle to maintain eye contact with me, much less slaves.

Many of them couldn’t even breathe the same air as me properly.

I’ll have to admit it kind of ticked me off.

But in a way that made me yearn to taste her fear.

“But what is the point of all of this? Sure you did your homework on me but the only thing you have been able to tell me from that is that I’m pretty problematic.”

“Exactly,” I hummed out, “I need somebody just like you… Someone who doesn’t care about the rules someone doesn’t have any respect or fear for her owner. Now that’s the only person I can trust with this….”

I pulled out a small bottle and there was this liquid inside that was artificial shade of green.

“Poison…”she said.

I guess she as smart she looks.

I nod in confirmation, “yes it’s poison,”

She took it from my fingers carefully inspecting it, this was when I pulled back so she could have a good look at it.

“I’ll take that you already understand who you’re supposed to feed that poison to,” I said even though it was already as clear day.

Her eyes fell into sharp slits again.

“So what do I get if I feed this poison to your brother? I’m sure you can give me a better reward other than certain death,”

I laugh because I couldn’t help how much she made me crack up.

“No, I can give you what you want the most…

The south…”I pointed at the bottle, “it won’t kill him immediately…

It will just slowly deteriorate his inner wolf…

Gradually in a way no one would really suspect…

It is a slow-acting poison and by the time he has figured out that he’s been poisoned and his health is not just randomly failing it will be too late to do anything about it,”

She looks at the bottle thoughtfully then stretches her hand to lay It down on the table in front of her.

“How can I be sure that you’re telling me the truth?” She said frankly, “there is nothing stopping you from lying to me right now… It could easily be a quick poison and…. ” Before she could finish I took the poison myself and placed some droplets on my mouth.

Then I swallowed.

A few minutes past sufficient enough before I broke the silence.

“See?”

“You have an immunity?”

“Of course I’ve been slowly ingesting a poison myself for several months now, just to be prepared in case my plans go south in any way… I’m the kind of man who always likes having a plan b you see.”

The skeptism in in her eyes did not soften, but at the same time she was looking at the bottle curiously.

“Okay so you’re telling me the truth about the poison but how do I know you are being honest about anything else?

How do I know that you are going to free the southern packs?” She shifted towards the edge of the sofa, “once you get what you want…

The position of Grand alpha you have no reason to keep to your word…”

“That …”I then dropped the bottle on The polished wooden table in front of her, “…. Is a risk you will have to take because you could either accept my offer and secure not just your future but that of all the southern packs…or you wait for my brother to send you off, then I’ll inevitably get his position anyways and by that time I will not be looking upon you favorably.”

She chuckled….

unbelievable.

“You have until the end of this week…” I said trailing my fingers past her hair because I couldn’t help myself, “…I hope you make the right choice.”
