Symbiote Wars part 5

The Amazing White-Spider

After just barely managing to sneak his way across the city, Jake somehow managed to enter the largest building that he found, as he had just heard the giant bloodcurdling roar of something off in the distance, and he didn't really feel like finding out where that roar came from or what made it.

While ducking into the building, Jake thought it was a bit strange that everything looked somewhat like a normal extravagant apartment in New York instead of the front lobby looking more like the entrance of something from a spy thriller film.

But it didn't really bother him that much, as he just figured it was Iron Man's way of making the place look more inviting to the other Avengers, or it could have been something Captain America wanted and asked of Iron Man, who reluctantly agreed, given both of their personalities.

Going around the front desk, Jake looked at the cash registers to see if something would happen, and once he saw that it actually had cash, he immediately pocketed all of it since it's not like anyone would mind if he took it given how rich Iron Man must have been to afford his armor and building.

Jake: "(Grabs all the cash) Why the heck are there only tens and twenties in here? Are these basically Avenger tip jars?"

Jake just shrugs as he also makes sure to take what looked like a MasterCard, given the black M on the mostly white card, and after looking around, he has to decide to either enter the kitchen or the stairs, and given that Harry liked horror movies, Jake wasn't about to test his fate with an abandoned kitchen and made his way towards the stairs instead.

However, the second he went through the door and looked up and saw just how many flights of stairs there were, he immediately started regretting his decision, but if it meant him possibly getting some spare Iron Man armor and whatever else they might have had, hopefully making it all the climbing worth it.

Again, however, he started to change his mind when he'd been walking for what felt like five hours and just barely managed to make it to the third floor of the building, and from what Jake could remember, the Avengers lived at the very tippy top of the building.

Jake: "What I wouldn't give for my powers to work; actually, scratch that. I'd fully be ready and willing to kill a man if it meant I could fly!"

However, at the moment, Jake didn't have either of those, which meant that he had to reluctantly walk up every flight of stairs until he reached the top, and after walking nonstop for possibly twelve hours, given how it felt, Jake passed out next to the door as he could no longer feel or move his legs.

Without even knowing it, Jake must have passed out, as last he knew it was still at least somewhat bright outside, and when he made his way through the door, it was completely dark as night, and worst of all was that he was in the wrong damn building!

Jake: "All that work just to end up in the Baxter building... what the heck am I going to get from here!"

Walking through the door, Jake quickly realizes that the door was hidden behind some flame-retardant wallpaper. And from the sounds and looks of it, the floors also seemed to be made of something that made it seem like this floor room was going to last well beyond the rest of the building.

The most immediate thing of interest that caught Jake's eye at least had to be a spare Fantastic Four outfit but without the number four anywhere on it or at least anywhere that he could find it, and after looking around a bit to make sure the coast was clear, Jake put the thing on.

And immediately realized this thing must have been for either Mr. or Mrs. Fantastic, given how tight and snug the thing felt all around his body to the point it felt like the thing was practically strangling Jake around every part of his body.

As Jake struggled to take the suit off, he accidentally knocked off and possibly broke many things that were hopefully not too important since they were just thrown around the place like the common newspaper.

Ironically enough, however, there was in fact a newspaper in what appeared to be the kitchen of the place, and from just how many job listings were circled, someone part of the Fantastic Four seemed to be looking for a part-time job.

Jake: "Wow, so I guess being a professional superhero doesn't seem to be that lucrative of a job either, huh?"

Going inside the possible kitchen, Jake looked through their fridge and saw through the many, MANY notes that said, "Ben's hands off, ESPECIALLY YOU, JOHNNY!!!" on then, there were quite a few things that didn't seem that edible.

Like a giant bluish, glowing square cube, and a purple orb that seemed to eat anything electrical, as before Jake even took it out, the entire lights in the place started getting a lot dimmer along with the whole place starting to shake.

Jake: "Okay, not to self don't touch things that you don't know what they are!"

Before closing the fridge doors, Jake grabs a giant tray of very big burritos covered in both plastic wrap and aluminum foil, and after taking them both off, Jake had to go through another smaller note that said, "I MEAN IT!" and many different layers of foil before he could finally open up his lunch.

Only to find out that, for one thing, they weren't burritos at all and instead were basically food wraps, and not just chicken or beef but one of them honestly felt like an entire plate of Thanksgiving turkey all wrapped up in a single tortilla while another was just mac & cheese, sloppy joe, and some sweet corn for, I guess, flavor.

After fifteen minutes, Jake puts the tray that once held fifteen big wraps in the sink as he runs towards the bathroom like his life was going to end if he didn't!

As Jake was forced to learn what all those notes were warning this Johnny guy about, it was so damn bad that Jake didn't have the time to notice the two dead green alien-looking bodies in the freaking bathtub! And given how he felt, he probably wouldn't have even cared unless one of them was even partially on the toilet!

Jake: "(Groans as he leaves the bathroom) I have no idea who this Johnny guy is but if he's anything like what this Ben guy felt the need to create that hell then I hate him already."

Once everything had finally left his body and Jake was back to normal, he started looking around the building and was genuinely surprised that his Mastercard from the front desk seemed to work on any and everything inside the building, including what looked to be a gateway to literal hell.

And the second something seemed to be reaching towards the door, Jake spammed the close button as hard as he could, only for it to start closing so damn slow that it seemed to be taunting Jake by showing just how much time he had left if these damn doors didn't close before the demon got here!

Thankfully, it did close, and an added bonus was that it did so before the creature got any part of its body through the doorway, with Jake walking away from the door really slowly as a giant fresh puddle was formed around where he was standing.

The next place Jake looked around was the bedrooms, and while they are fairly normal, Jake did have to wonder what the heck was up with one room having a slab of concrete made with mattresses so soft Jake almost died trying to get out of them TWICE! And another room having what looked to be a tanning bed but could flash freeze anything inside as evidence of the frozen snacks that were in the bed area of the giant freezing tube.

Given what Jake saw from the first two rooms he walked into, he was very excited to see what was in the final room, only to find it looking like the most normal room he had ever seen, minus the fact that all the awards on the walls, pictures of a loving family, and science crap so advanced that it'd take him forever to even figure out what the very first part of any of it even meant.

Not only that, the closet they had was a normal-looking sliding door closet, but the second Jake went inside it, he saw that the place was basically a mall with every shop and area being divided between the husband and the wife with varying levels of creativity as well.

But since he didn't have a clue where any of this went or how far it stretched, Jake wasn't willing to take any of those chances and immediately backed away from the room and fell onto the bed as something weird started moving around on his back.

And after a couple of seconds to truly think about what it might have been, Jake grabbed some random box of tech crap and ran out of the place like he just walked into the next set of the latest horror slasher film.

Jake: "I'm not about to leave this place empty-handed, especially if I have to make another walk up the Avengers tower!"

However, once he made it down, Jake had to walk right back into the staircase as a group of something seemed to be outside, and given how one of them was the same size as that green-looking creature from before, Jake sucked up his feelings and started running back up the stairs.

And that is all for now hope you all enjoyed and until next time stay safe and peace!
