As Jake opens his eyes, he sees some sort of green energy wave seem to dissipate around him, and when Jake tries to move, he realizes his leg feels heavier than it should, and even though it might have been from the new symbiote he just absorbed, he still feels the need to look down.
When he does, he's surprised to see none other than Penny on the ground next to him bleeding all over the place, along with what appeared to be bruises, and certain parts of her body were twisted and broken in such a way that made it hard for him to figure out where they used to be.
Jake: "PENNY!"
Without even hesitating or even wondering/worrying about what might have changed in his body, Jake basically dived towards Penny as he tried his best to keep her body from falling apart more than it already seemed to be.
Fearing for her life, Jake ripped apart his jacket along with some random scraps of leather that seemed to have come from her jacket that she cherished and tried his best to turn them into bandages as best he could.
After trying and failing three times, eventually Jake managed to turn his makeshift bandages into something that would hopefully stabilize her for the moment until he brought her to the bar, as there had to be a first aid kit, and they could just use the alcohol as a way to disinfect anything they might need.
But sadly that didn't seem to be enough, as with much contemplation Jake put his head at Penny's heart to see if everything was still alright or not, and to his horror he found that her heartbeat seemed to be slowing down.
Fearing for her life, Jake ripped open her shirt and saw that apparently she seemed to have more than a few injuries on her body, with some looking fresh and others looking way too old for Jake not to worry about.
However, none of that mattered as he started doing what he and everyone else were taught how to do: basic CPR from school, and began doing it to the best of his abilities as he began fearing for the worst of this possibly not working, that it's already too late, and that maybe she was already dead and it was just her heart finally stopping that he heard.
As Jake tried his best to ignore those thoughts and save his best friend, he eventually came to the part of giving her mouth to mouth as well, and without knowing it, he began giving her exactly what she needed to get better, both in terms of health and the key to getting her powers back.
Since Jake's DNA had become special after fusing with the white symbiote, it made it so that anyone who acquired his blood in any way, no matter what type or way they got it, would acquire a much weaker version of the white symbiote.
As the second the little bits and pieces of his symbiote start flowing inside Penny, it begins bonding with her down to her very cells like any other symbiote, and as they begin working on merging with Penny's body, they also start fixing Penny's problem with her powers.
By way of making it impossible for the prototype healing nanites that were running amok inside her body since they began shielding the cells that they haven't destroyed or reverted back to normal.
The way this happened was back when she was fighting the Shocker and Electro at one of Oscrops and Stark Industries grand tech expo, where they, along with other companies and even individual scientists, could show off their products.
All the big corporations use the tech expo as an excuse to show off their products before they are released in order to get the geeks amped up for their product while any of the no-named scientists or indie groups show up hoping to get a grant from someone.
This, of course, makes a great spot for criminals to steal from since they either get something worth billions, help them in their crimes, or, in very rare occasions, they steal basically garbage as it isn't finished or close to actually working and was just a stage prop or was a one-time use.
Shockers and Electro were here to steal both an electric projector that could basically make holograms to be the most realistic they could ever possibly be while Shocker wanted to steal the mini subwoofers that, while small, can make as much sound as any good subwoofer could.
Of course, however, Spiderwoman wasn't going to let that happen and began fighting them to the best of her abilities, which resulted in a lot of tech breaking, with the most dangerous one for Penny and Electro being helper nanites.
Their original purpose was supposed to be anyway they would go into someone's body and fix up or destroy anything that seemed to bring them harm with Hy Dryum, a German company behind making them, not really having fixed most of the bugs yet. With most of them just destroying the cells of the people infected with them.
With those little Gremlins inside her, it was no wonder she was losing her powers, and when she finally began coughing them up or bleeding them out, it honestly started freaking Jake out as he had no idea what was happening and what this meant for Penny.
However, his worries didn't last that long once he started seeing Penny finally seem to breathe along with her color seeming to start to darken, and all the worries Jake had for his friend dying just disappeared, as this, to him at least, looked like she was going to get better.
Jake: "Now how the heck am I going to make this not look weird?"
Ekaj: "Say to anyone who asks you got laid. I mean, given how we all look, who can argue with that logic?"
Ekaj said before just vanishing, possibly back to sleep, as it laughed at an annoyed Jake, who grabbed Penny's jacket and tried his best to get her fixed up, but no matter what he did, he just couldn't help the fact his eyes wandered.
But after much debate, he finally managed to pull himself together and cleaned up Penny enough to where Jake wouldn't have to worry about her possibly having some sort of infection or other health problems from her wounds.
And with the help of a couple of bungee cords, Jake managed to start carrying Penny like a giant backpack since he still needed the ability to fight in case any of the symbiote monsters showed up, especially since his suit just vanished.
Meaning once again that Jake had to... walk down the stairs again...
Jake: "I wonder if I'd die if I jumped off the building right now. Like seriously, would I even be affected, or would it just hurt as much as doing a giant belly flop."
Jake wondered aloud as he ignored his own dilemma and began walking down the stairs again since he knew this would be for the best for Penny, and that's all he really cared about at this point in time.
The second Jake finally made it to the bottom of the Avengers tower; he began panting, moaning, and groaning as he once again promised to find some way of telling stairs to go F themselves and never have to go through the pain of using them again.
Once at the bottom, Jake, without even hesitating, gets inside the giant red and blue SUV with Spiderwoman stickers all over it in the hopes that it still worked, given its headlights were flashing, yet strangely there was no sound coming from it.
However, that didn't seem to matter much as the car still worked fine, and there wasn't much, if any, problem in getting the thing to work, and the second Jake started driving the car, he seemed to pass out and wake up back inside the car about three blocks away from the bar as symbiote monsters began getting closer.
Of course Jake was worried about what had happened, but it didn't matter at the moment since Jake still needed to get Penny some help, and the only place that could really do that that he knew of, at least, was Wolverine's bar.
By the time Jake burst through the door, there were many symbiote creatures right behind Jake; however, he realized that at some point he must have lost his sense of hearing, as he just couldn't hear anything from the symbiote creatures approaching him or Wolverine yelling at him.
As Jake slowly closes the door after leaving Penny on the pool table, Jake smiles a sad smile as he points to his ears while also having a thumbs down, hopefully showing to Wolverine that he can't hear a single thing.
The second the doors were closed, Jake turned around and began punching the creatures that were attacking him, and after about twenty or so punches, Jake finally realized that his hand was glowing white with black bits ending where they were glowing.
When Jake opened his hand, they slowly stopped glowing, and when he clenched his hand into a fist, nothing happened until he had the intent of fighting, which is when it slowly began glowing again.
Now smiling for real, Jake began fighting them all one after the other, never stopping nor ever caring what happened to him since, without the ability to hear and no idea if he'd ever get it back or not, Jake just didn't view himself as anything more than a burden to everyone, including SHIELD.
While Jake was fighting, Logan grumbled as he grabbed Penny and brought her upstairs while hoping the kid was going to be alright while Jake just barely managed to stand up after fighting wave after wave of these symbiote monsters, one after the other.
Eventually, however, Jake would reach his breaking point, and that time came real soon when he felt something hit the back of his head as a black symbiote creature appeared before him and even squatted in front of him.
Jake: "So long as Penny lives, then I'm fine with finally paying the price for my actions."
Was all Jake could think about as he finally passed out on the ground with Logan seeing this happen back inside the bar he now called home and punched one of the bar's walls as hard as he could to the point of almost putting a hole in it with three thin holes being made in the process.
Logan: "(Grumbling the entire time) Damn kid! When your body's telling ya to rest, do it next time!"
When Jake finally woke up, he saw that his friends, or rather frenemies, Flash Thompson and Eddie Brock, appeared before him, as both of them now had pure black symbiotes with a white spider on their chests.
Eddie and Flash: "He's up! Now he can help us and actually be of use for once!"
They seemed to say at the time, freaking Jake out in the process, as he also just realized he was basically on a surgical table with power saws, hammers, and other such torture tools covered in what Jake can only hope is something that looks to be blood instead of actual blood.
Eddie: "Don't worry, buddy."
Flash: "We just need some help is all."
They both smiled like devilish and dastardly villains from an old-school cartoon as they reached towards Jake and began spinning him around for a bit as they blindfolded him and began tying him up.
Flash: "Move it, wimp!"
He said while imitating a whip cracking noise before he began dragging Jake along, as Jake really needed some rest, and his body finally quit on him till he rested up for a bit while the two meatheads continued dragging him along.
