As she ate, Ye Xin thought about these matters.
If that really was the case, then rescue centers would most likely take over hotels or universities.
She would have to keep an eye out for such places while scavenging and stay away from them.
Although Su Jing had been frightened by what happened, she still insisted on going out.
“Xinxin, the supermarkets downstairs have already been completely looted. We’re planning to go to the wholesale market today and see if we can salvage anything useful.”

Their destination today was a gas station.
While everyone else was still busy salvaging food, they had to take advantage of this precious time gap.
Along the way, they indeed saw several places where manhole covers had been washed away.

It was dark, and the muddy rainwater made visibility underwater extremely poor.
Ye Xin could only vaguely make out several gas cylinders scattered around the yard.
She couldn’t tell whether they were empty or full.
Ye Xin swam over and casually pulled up one of the cylinders.
It felt surprisingly light in her hand.

To compare them, Ye Xin pulled up more than a dozen cylinders, checking those on both sides of the yard.
