“Did уоu ordеr this tоо?” She turned hеr gаze tо meet his eуes.

Нe Yu Zhou noddеd, “Yes, whу?”

“You dоn’t likе it?” He hаdn’t forgotten thе untоuсhеd dessert frоm lаst night.

“Nо.” Yin Еn Yu told him, “I cаme hеre for dinnеr last night toо, and I didn’t seе this dessert on thе mеnu.”

Нe Yu Zhоu’s еxpressiоn remаinеd unchangеd as he сasuаllу rеpliеd, “Maуbe it was аddеd tоday.”

Yin En Yu nodded. That was роssible.

She thought of sоmеthing and suddenly аskеd, “Do you know the owner of this restaurant?”

He Yu Zhou: “I do. Is there something?”

Yin En Yu recounted the events of last night in detail, including Wan Tang’s speculation that the owner might be her obsessive fan.

After hearing it, He Yu Zhou felt both angry and amused.

So, the lemon aiyu jelly he sent her last night—the one she didn’t touch at all—was because she thought the owner was an obsessive fan?

Should he praise her for being so cautious?

“Next time you come here to eat and the owner sends you something, you can eat it without worry.” He Yu Zhou said meaningfully, “The owner is a good person. He won’t poison you.”

A flicker of surprise passed through Yin En Yu’s eyes. His opinion of the owner was quite high.

She rarely heard him praise anyone.

“Try a bite.” He Yu Zhou tapped the table lightly with his slender, well-defined fingers. “See if it suits your taste.”

Yin En Yu held the porcelain spoon, scooped a small piece of the crystal-clear aiyu jelly, and slowly brought it to her mouth.

Immediately, her eyes widened in astonishment.

This taste was exactly the same as what she had eaten in Taiwan.

Just by looking at her expression, He Yu Zhou could tell whether she liked it or not.

“This tastes just like the one from that shop in Taiwan. Try a bite.” Yin En Yu almost instinctively extended the spoon toward him.

Her right hand hovered in mid-air as she suddenly realized the gesture was inappropriate—they were no longer in a relationship.

He Yu Zhou stared at the fair hand before him, amused by her action, and a smile tugged at his lips.

It seemed she hadn’t changed—when she ate something delicious, she still wanted to share it with him.

Just as Yin En Yu was about to withdraw her hand, he swiftly grabbed her slender wrist, looking at her with playful interest, his tone teasing—

“Didn’t you say you wanted to give me a bite?”

Yin En Yu’s right hand was firmly held by him, unable to move. “Then take another spoon. I’ve already used this one.”

He Yu Zhou raised an eyebrow, his expression roguish. “Now you’re being particular? Haven’t I used plenty of things you’ve used before?”

“Don’t talk nonsense!” Yin En Yu twisted her wrist in his firm grip but couldn’t break free.

He Yu Zhou curled his lips, his tone bold and straightforward. “Isn’t it true? We’ve kissed plenty before…”

“He Yu Zhou!” Yin En Yu was annoyed by his frivolous attitude and glared at him with bright eyes.

Under the table, her foot lifted, and the thin heel of her high heel shoe stomped hard on his polished leather shoe, leaving a dent.

“I’m leaving. You can eat by yourself.”

He Yu Zhou narrowed his eyes slightly. “Not bad. You even know how to threaten me now.”

He lifted the tip of his foot, and the edge of his expensive leather shoe brushed faintly against her ankle, sending a subtle, tingling sensation through her.

“You really don’t hold back when you step on me.”Only she would dare to be so brazenly unrestrained with him.

Yin Enyu quickly retracted her feet. “Then you can step on them back.”

“Do I dare?” He Yuzhou’s thumb rubbed against her wrist.

Yin Enyu let out a light hum. “What wouldn’t you dare? You’re already hurting my wrist from pulling so hard.”

His strength seemed even greater now.

“Let go immediately.” He Yuzhou knew exactly how much force he was using.

He pulled her hand forward, covering the back of her delicate hand with his palm. His fingers tightened, holding the spoon handle together with hers as he slowly scooped a spoonful of aiyu jelly from the bowl and lowered his head to eat it.

“The taste really is the same,” he commented with an air of seriousness before leisurely releasing her hand.

The warmth of his touch lingered on the back of Yin Enyu’s hand, and her fingertips curled slightly. “You eat it yourself. I don’t want it anymore.”

He Yuzhou chuckled softly, picking up the chopsticks in front of him to add food to her bowl. “Your throat isn’t feeling well, so you really should eat less.”

“Have more vegetables.”

Yin Enyu didn’t rush to pick up her chopsticks. Instead, she asked him, “Then why did you order it for me?”

He Yuzhou replied, “It’s fine to let you satisfy your craving a little.”

Yin Enyu said, “That’s even more cruel.”

He had stirred up her appetite but wouldn’t let her eat.

However, even though it was the familiar taste she remembered, perhaps because she had grown accustomed to his cooking while abroad, she still thought his version tasted better.

“It’s not like you won’t get to eat it again in the future,” He Yuzhou said with a scheming tone. “Once your throat is better, I’ll bring you here again.”

Yin Enyu refused, “I’ll come by myself.”

“Fine.” He Yuzhou glanced at her lightly, stopping the motion of adding food to her bowl. “I’m quite busy too, so I might not have the time.”

Ungrateful little thing, deliberately keeping her distance from him again.

A few minutes later, the private room door was knocked, and a waiter pushed it open. Behind him stood a man dressed in a tailored suit.

“Enyu…”

Lu Jing, standing at the doorway, abruptly stopped speaking as soon as he saw He Yuzhou in the private room. The smile faded from his face.

He Yuzhou lifted his eyelids, leaning lazily against the chair without the slightest intention of standing up. “What a coincidence, we meet again.”

Although he was seated, he exuded an imposing, almost condescending presence—completely different from the teasing, indulgent demeanor he had shown in front of Yin Enyu just moments ago.

Lu Jing walked in, his tone unfriendly. “Why are you here?”

“Why can’t I be here?” He Yuzhou remained casual and indifferent, his eyes carrying a hint of arrogance. “Do you own this restaurant?”

Lu Jing said, “I invited Enyu to dinner. I don’t recall inviting you.”

He was not welcome.

“You invited her to dinner?” He Yuzhou didn’t spare him any face, laying it out plainly. “Is this Mr. Lu’s sincerity when inviting someone to dinner? Sending a last-minute invitation right at mealtime?”

“Well, sorry to say, I got here first.”

He gestured to the waiter beside him to hand the menu to Lu Jing, his tone calm. “I’m a rather generous person. I’ll cover your portion as well.”

Lu Jing was left speechless by his words.

After a moment of silence, he managed to say, “No need. I can afford a meal myself.”

He pulled out the chair to Yin Enyu’s right and sat down.

He Yuzhou didn’t respond. Instead, he reached out a hand and placed it under Yin Enyu’s chair, pulling it slightly closer with a bit of force. The distance between the two of them instantly narrowed, their chairs now pressed tightly together.

This made Lu Jing, sitting beside them, seem completely out of place.Yin En Yu was startled by his sudden movement and shot him a reproachful look. “What are you doing?”

“It’s nothing. Keep eating.” He Yu Zhou patted the back of her head, his actions bold and without any intention of hiding or restraining himself.

Lu Jing, who was sitting nearby, clenched his fingers at the sight.

They had broken up, so why could they still act so intimately? Moreover, Yin En Yu showed no sign of resistance or displeasure.

It made him feel that even though they had separated, he couldn’t intervene—he could only be an awkward bystander.

Suddenly, He Yu Zhou spoke up without warning. “En Yu was hungry, so I let her eat first.”

Without giving the other a chance to speak, he added, “You won’t mind if I wait for you alone, will you, Mr. Lu?”

Lu Jing felt a knot of frustration in his chest. He Yu Zhou had already covered all the angles, leaving him with nothing to say.

If he really made an issue of it, he would come across as unreasonable and narrow-minded.

Gritting his teeth, he replied, “Of course not.”
