Сhаpter 20: ‘Dоn’t Веliеvе Me? Tоuсh It’
Yin En Yu staуed at thе саfé fоr nеаrly аn hоur bеfоre leаving.
The driver oреned thе саr dооr for hеr. “Мiss, shаll I take уоu homе now?”
Yin En Yu pаused fоr a moment bеforе saуing, “Тake mе to Lumen.”
Thе drivеr rерlied, “Alright.”
Fiftееn minutеs lаter, Yin En Yu, wеaring high hеels, walkеd slowly аnd steadilу into the lobbу оf Lumеn’s heаdquаrters.
The twо reсеptionists оn duty todаy wеrе thе samе as last timе. Theу rесognized Yin En Yu immediately upоn sеeing her.
One оf thе emploуеes had found her familiar during her previous visit. After work, while browsing online, she suddenly came across the news about Yin En Yu returning to the country to pursue her career.
It finally clicked who she was.
Now, seeing her again, the receptionist immediately stepped forward with a warm smile. “Good morning, Miss Yin.”
“Good morning,” Yin En Yu replied with a nod and a smile. “You know who I am?”
Although she had visited once before, she hadn’t introduced herself to them.
“Of course, you’re the renowned pianist,” the receptionist said, unable to hide her excitement. “You’re even more beautiful than you looked on my phone.”
She had looked up Yin En Yu’s background—only twenty-four years old, yet she had already won countless awards and achieved feats many could only dream of.
She couldn’t help but think, how could someone be so perfect?
No wonder Mr. He treated her differently. Even as a woman, she couldn’t help but be captivated by her.
“Thank you,” Yin En Yu said gently, accustomed to such compliments. “I’m here to see Mr. He. May I go in?”
The receptionist asked, “Do you have an appointment?”
Although she would have loved to let her in directly and knew she was special to Mr. He, she still had to follow the company’s rules.
Yin En Yu shook her head. “No.”
Hearing this, the receptionist suggested, “Would you like to give Mr. He a call?”
Besides, they weren’t even sure if Mr. He was in the office today. Sometimes, he didn’t pass through the lobby but went directly from the garage to his office via the elevator.
Yin En Yu replied, “Alright.”
Since she was already here, making a call wouldn’t hurt.
Yin En Yu took her phone out of her handbag and dialed He Yu Zhou’s number.
The phone rang, but no one answered.
A flicker of disappointment crossed Yin En Yu’s lowered eyes. She felt she had been presumptuous.
She shouldn’t have come. It felt like she had been shut out.
Seeing this, the receptionist eagerly suggested, “Would you like to sit over there for a moment while I call the executive office to check?”
She wanted to follow the rules but was also afraid of not treating Yin En Yu properly.
Yin En Yu put away her phone, her expression calm and unreadable. Even her voice remained unchanged from before. “Thank you, but that won’t be necessary.”
Without lingering any longer, she turned and walked toward the exit, lowering her head to send a message to Wan Tang.
Suddenly, without noticing, she collided head-on with someone, nearly dropping her phone.
Yin En Yu instinctively apologized, “I’m sorry…”
But when she looked up and saw who she had bumped into, her voice abruptly trailed off.
The man standing before her was none other than the very person she had just called—the one who hadn’t answered her call.
Dressed in a custom-tailored suit, his tall and imposing figure cast a faint shadow over her.
His assistant was by his side.
Zou Zhen had witnessed the entire scene clearly.
Miss Yin truly hadn’t noticed anyone ahead, but Mr. He was a different story. He had deliberately bumped into Miss Yin on purpose.
Yin Enyu saw He Yuzhou as if he were a stranger, bypassing him and walking out.
However, the man in front of her anticipated her move, stepping forward with his long legs to block her path completely, stopping her in her tracks.
He Yuzhou lowered his head, gazing at her intently. “What are you doing here?”
Yin Enyu gave a casual excuse. “Just passing by.”
“Passing by?” He Yuzhou raised an eyebrow, calling her out directly. “Does passing by require coming into the lobby?”
Just as Yin Enyu was about to speak, he cut her off again. “Are you going to say you came in to ask for directions?”
“No.” Yin Enyu met his eyes, her tone calm. “Don’t block me. I’m leaving.”
He Yuzhou didn’t move an inch, acting shamelessly. “If you don’t explain clearly, I won’t let you leave.”
He seemed fully prepared to keep her there indefinitely.
Yin Enyu remained silent, pulling up the call interface on her phone to show him.
He Yuzhou glanced at it, and a flicker of surprise passed through his eyes.
He reached into his pocket, only to find it empty. “I forgot my phone.”
Yin Enyu looked at him, pursing her lips without a word.
“If you don’t believe me, feel for yourself.” He Yuzhou took action directly, his warm hand grasping hers and guiding it to search his body.
Her palm slid over the smooth, comfortable fabric of his suit, moving from his chest down to the pockets of his trousers.
She could clearly feel his strong, well-defined muscles. No one knew his physique better than Yin Enyu.
She had performed this action countless times before.
The man seemed to be deliberately prolonging the moment, moving slowly.
Yin Enyu pulled her wrist free from his grasp. “That’s enough. I believe you.”
She could sense the assistant and the lobby staff watching them from the side.
She had no intention of becoming the subject of their gossip.
“Good that you believe me.” He Yuzhou’s gaze was filled with teasing as he looked at her. “So, you came here looking for me?”
From the moment he saw her, he had guessed this possibility. Yet, he didn’t dare to be certain, afraid it was just his own wishful thinking again.
Yin Enyu gave a soft “Mm.”
He Yuzhou: “What did you come to see me for?”
Yin Enyu: “Didn’t you say on the phone for me to come find you?”
Hearing her words, He Yuzhou’s deep pupils contracted slightly, his heart skipping a beat, unable to hide his surprise.
He knew all too well that, given their current relationship, her initiative to come find him must have required immense psychological preparation and unwavering determination.
She was someone who excelled at restraining her emotions.
If she took the initiative once and the other person didn’t respond appropriately, there would never be a next time.
At this moment, He Yuzhou felt incredibly grateful that he had run into her just as she was about to leave, preventing her from walking away disappointed.
Otherwise, if she had left like that, he might have remained in the dark forever. Even if he asked, she would never reveal why she had come to find him.
Her act of taking the initiative to seek out He Yuzhou was like a feather gently sweeping away the pent-up frustration and gloom that had weighed on his heart since last night.
“Yin Enyu, you really know how to make someone feel better,” he said, his tone filled with helplessness, blaming himself for being too easily swayed.
Yin Enyu’s clear eyes gazed at him, her long eyelashes fluttering.
But she felt that he was even better at making her feel better than she was at making him feel better.
Seeing her like this, so alluring yet completely unaware, He Yuzhou was momentarily lost in thought, wanting to pull her into his arms and kiss her.But in the end, reason triumphed over impulse.
“Let’s go, to my office.” After saying this, he instructed the receptionist, “From now on, when Miss Yin comes, take her directly to my office.”
The receptionist quickly suppressed her gossipy expression and immediately replied, “Yes, Mr. He.”
They had figured it out—Mr. He definitely liked Miss Yin.
Just now, that passionate and affectionate gaze was almost overflowing; his eyes had been glued to Miss Yin the whole time, and they hadn’t seen him look anywhere else.
“Will you come again in the future?” He Yu Zhou leaned down slightly and whispered in her ear.
Yin En Yu: “I don’t know.”
He Yu Zhou: “…”
It would be better to ask her fewer questions in the future, so as not to ruin his rare good mood.
