Inside the lоungе.

Тhе pеrsоn bеfоrе her hаd rеddеned cоrnеrs of thе eyes, а misty hаze lingering in her gаze, сarrуing а heartbrеaking sense оf frаgilitу.

“Did Нe Yu Zhou bullу уоu?” Wаn Tang аsked with сoncеrn.

After wаtching the rеcital, she hаd аrrivеd at thе lоunge beforе Yin En Yu.

Shе hаd also lеarned frоm Yin En Yu’s аssistаnt thаt she hаd run into Hе Yu Zhou outsidе thе dоor earlier.

She hadn’t gone оut, bеlieving that He Yu Zhоu wоuldn’t hurt her.

In the pаst, during thеir relationship, how much He Yu Zhou had doted on her was something all their friends had witnessed firsthand.

Yin En Yu shook her head, wiping away the dampness at the corner of her eye. “No.”

How could he possibly bully her?

If he had truly treated her as a stranger or spoken to her coldly, she might not have felt so miserable and guilty.

Wan Tang was still uneasy. “Then what’s wrong?”

Though gentle in nature, Yin En Yu was inherently strong-willed and rarely showed such emotional vulnerability.

Yin En Yu forced a smile. “Maybe seeing an ex-boyfriend again inevitably stirs up some emotions.”

Wan Tang didn’t know how to comfort her. Matters of the heart were best understood by those involved.

She stepped forward and hugged Yin En Yu. “It’s okay. Cry if you want to.”

She knew that Yin En Yu had never truly let go of He Yu Zhou.

However, she couldn’t, as a friend, advise her to reconcile with He Yu Zhou.

After all, if she chose to break up, there must have been a reason.

And what friends should do is respect all her choices and always stand by her side.

Yin En Yu had already calmed down and joked, “If tears fall too often, they lose their value.”

She picked up the dress hanging on the coat rack. “I’ll go change first, then we can go out to eat together.”

“Okay.” Wan Tang patted her.

Only after entering the changing room did Yin En Yu notice that she was still wearing He Yu Zhou’s jacket.

She stood in front of the mirror, gazing at her reflection.

This wasn’t the first time she had worn his clothes. In the past, he had loved having her wear his shirts and T-shirts as sleepwear.

Her slender frame would hide within his oversized clothes, an intimacy that felt almost overwhelming.

He said he loved the lingering scent of her unique fragrance on his clothes.

Yin En Yu stood there for a moment before finally taking the jacket off her shoulders and neatly draping it aside.

Yin En Yu changed into a satin maxi dress. The pale purple color made her skin appear even fairer, accentuating her curvaceous figure.

She touched up her makeup inside before coming out.

Wan Tang bounced over, trying to lift her spirits. “So beautiful.”

Looking at the pronounced curves, she exclaimed with admiration, “Your figure seems even sexier now.”

Though she appeared thinner, she hadn’t lost any fullness where it mattered.

Hearing her suggestive tone, Yin En Yu’s mood instantly shifted, and the chaotic thoughts in her mind were pushed aside.

“No peeking.” Yin En Yu instinctively grabbed the jacket from her arm and held it in front of her.

Wan Tang’s gaze immediately focused on the jacket in her hands. “Is this jacket He Yu Zhou’s?”

In truth, Wan Tang already knew the answer. Not just anyone’s jacket could be draped over Yin En Yu’s shoulders.

She was someone with a strong sense of boundaries and distance.

Yin En Yu nodded, uttering an “Mm,” and lowered her hands.

She bent down to pick up her bag from the coffee table in front of her. “Let’s go.”Seeing that she didn’t want to discuss the topic further, Wan Tang didn’t press on. “Let’s go, I’ve already reserved a private room at your favorite restaurant.”

“Alright.” Yin En Yu turned to her assistant beside her. “Yu Yu, you’re coming too. After dinner, I’ll have the driver take you back.”

Naturally, Yu Yu wouldn’t refuse an invitation to dine with her boss. “Sure thing.”

“Boss, let me carry those for you.”

Yin En Yu didn’t hand over her bag and coat. “It’s fine, I can manage.”

The three of them walked to the entrance of the grand theater, waiting for the driver to bring the car from the parking lot.

The night was thick, with a drizzling rain carried by gusts of cold wind, bringing a slight chill.

Yin En Yu shivered slightly, realizing she had forgotten to bring her shawl from the car when she arrived in the afternoon.

She took her phone out of her bag and glanced at the time.

Upon seeing the notification on the screen, Yin En Yu swiped it open and tapped in.

A conspicuous red mark appeared next to a name she hadn’t contacted in two years.

Her breath hitched, and her fingers paused.

“Don’t cry”—just three short words instantly shattered the composure she had barely regained.

Had he noticed the emotions she thought she had hidden so well?

Yin En Yu looked up, scanning the surroundings ahead, but there was only the emptiness and silence of the night.

He must have already left.

Her gaze returned to the screen, lost in thought.

She hesitated, unsure how to reply.

Just then, the driver slowly pulled the car to a stop in front of her. Yin En Yu turned off her phone and got in.

She set the message aside for the time being.

In a dimly lit corner not far away, a black Pagani was parked, almost blending into the night, making it hard to notice.

Inside the car, a man had been watching Yin En Yu, taking in every one of her movements.

Only after watching her get into the car and drive away, disappearing from his sight, did He Yu Zhou finally withdraw his gaze.

He started the engine, preparing to leave, when suddenly, a car pulled up beside him from behind and honked twice.

The window rolled down, and Cheng Ziyan turned his head. “She’s already gone, and you still can’t bear to leave?”

He Yu Zhou glanced at him sideways. “Why are you still here?”

Lu Jun from the back seat chimed in, “If we hadn’t stayed, how would we have known that the proud and accomplished He Yu Zhou could be so infatuated and humble?”

“Dumped two years ago, yet still pining for his ex-girlfriend, silently watching over her every move from a corner she knows nothing about.”

If they hadn’t seen it with their own eyes, they truly wouldn’t have believed that such a deeply affectionate scene could come from He Yu Zhou.

This was a far cry from the reunion they had imagined.

“At least I have an ex-girlfriend,” He Yu Zhou leaned lazily against the seat, sneering. “What about you?”

“…”

Is having an ex-girlfriend something worth bragging about?

Cheng Ziyan remarked, “I don’t know whether to praise you for your devotion or scold you for being hopeless.”

He Yu Zhou ignored his taunt and said abruptly, “I’m treating you to dinner. Are you coming or not?”

The two in the other car seemed to have heard something unprecedented. “What’s the occasion today? You’re actually offering to treat us.”

Lu Jun added, “Anyone who didn’t know better would think En Yu agreed to get back together with you.”

“That’s definitely impossible,” Cheng Ziyan chimed in, playing along. “If En Yu had gotten back together with him, would he have been sitting alone in his car just now, brooding in sorrow?””He…”

Before they could finish speaking, He Yu Zhou had already rolled up the car window, stepped on the gas, and sped away.

By the time the two of them reacted, all that was left was a trail of exhaust from the car.

Cheng Ziyan stared ahead, fuming, “Seriously, he’s so rude. Does he even have any respect for us?”

“Stop talking and hurry up, follow him,” Lu Jun urged. “Let’s see which restaurant he’s going to.”

They couldn’t miss out on a free dinner.
