Ming Jiao took a few steps forward, unobtrusively stepping in to separate He Meixin from Lin Wanshuang, before looking politely at the group of Omegas.

Compared to He Meixin’s overly familiar attitude, Lin Wanshuang felt much more comfortable with Ming Jiao standing by her side, even if Ming Jiao’s behavior was a bit deliberately intimate.

Lin Wanshuang introduced He Meixin to Ming Jiao, but when it came time to introduce Ming Jiao to He Meixin, she hesitated.Full novel: The Arrogant Young Lady’s Obsessive Son-in-Law A — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Ming Jiao seamlessly picked up the conversation, smoothly extending her hand with a friendly gesture. “Hello, Miss He. I am Shuangshuang’s fiancée. My name is Ming Jiao.”

With a single sentence, she firmly defined their relationship. Although He Meixin had heard whispers through the grapevine that Lin Wanshuang was getting married, she hadn’t expected the rumors to be true, let alone that she would run into the couple at a shopping mall.

An individual capable of marrying Lin Wanshuang could only be an Alpha, but the Alpha standing before her…

She wasn’t wearing a scent-blocking patch, yet not a single trace of pheromones could be detected around her. No matter how one looked at it, she didn’t seem like a high-level Alpha.

He Meixin’s mind raced with a myriad of thoughts. Ultimately, she could do nothing but watch the two of them walk away.

Once they had left, the store’s sales assistants huddled together, whispering excitedly.

“Wow, that AO couple just now was way too gorgeous! And they’re about to get married!”

“Right? That Alpha is so beautiful and dashing, and the Omega is absolutely stunning.”

“But I just heard that Alpha say she’s a little boy toy being kept by the Omega. The Omega’s ears turned completely red when she said it!”

“Flirting like that in broad daylight! I’m not jealous at all!”

“The Alpha must really dote on her wife. She even handed her salary card over to the Omega. The Omega swiped her card for all those clothes just now, and the Alpha just followed behind looking so blissfully happy.”

Standing nearby, He Meixin listened with strained ears. The more she heard, the stranger her expression became. Why did Lin Wanshuang’s fiancée sound so much like a total free loader?

Following that very day, a bizarre rumor suddenly began circulating through Jincheng’s high society: The fiancée of Lin Wanshuang, the eldest miss of the Shunkin Group, was not only an impotent Alpha but also a free loading boy toy.

Ming Jiao and Lin Wanshuang were completely oblivious to the rumors. On the day of their departure for Songyang, the two woke up bright and early. Overturning her usual habit of sleeping in, Lin Wanshuang appeared at the dining table right on time.

However, she was still a step behind. The moment she sat down, Ming Jiao stood up to begin the final preparations.

“I’ll head down first to put our luggage in the car. Take your time, no need to rush,” Ming Jiao instructed while placing a cup of hot coffee in front of Lin Wanshuang.

Seeing the other woman nod, she finally headed out to handle the luggage with peace of mind.

Lin Wanshuang took her time finishing breakfast before grabbing her bag and heading downstairs.

The pink Mercedes Benz G-Wagon was already idling by the elevator exit. To Lin Wanshuang’s surprise, however, Ming Jiao wasn’t the only one in the vehicle.

As Lin Wanshuang pulled open the car door, she immediately saw Ming Jiao sitting in the driver’s seat looking troubled while talking on the phone, alongside a young girl leaning forward into the gap between the front seats. Xia Chan.

“Master’s Wife! Morning!” Xia Chan’s face still bore noticeable bruises left behind from her recent boxing match, but that didn’t stop her from greeting Lin Wanshuang with an excited grin.

Lin Wanshuang greeted her back in a daze before sitting in the passenger seat. Closing the door, she looked at Ming Jiao, who had just hung up the phone, and asked, “Is she coming with us?”

Frowning at her now darkened phone screen, Ming Jiao looked at Lin Wangshuang rather apologetically. “Can Xia Chan come with us to Songyang? Once we get there, I’ll just have her stay at the hotel. She won’t interfere with your work.”

Xia Chan glanced between the two of them, instantly grasping exactly who called the shots in this household. Looking pitifully at her master’s wife, she pleaded, “Beautiful Master’s Wife, I’m very well-behaved. Please take me along, I beg you.”

“Sure, let’s head out.”

Ming Jiao hadn’t expected her to agree so readily. She looked at her in surprise. “Won’t having her around affect you? What about the research institute…?”

Fastening her seatbelt, Lin Wanshuang kept her eyes fixed straight ahead and tilted her chin up. “Let’s go, it’s fine. It’s just sample collection, not a major operation. The institute barely assigned me any personnel to begin with. If they won’t even let me bring my own people, it would be downright unreasonable.”

Hearing the familiar note of sarcasm in Lin Wanshuang’s voice, Ming Jiao finally breathed a sigh of relief. “That’s good then. Let’s get moving.”

Lin Wanshuang turned her head slightly to glance at Xia Chan, who was still draped over the back of the front seat. “Should we stop by a mall first to buy her some clothes? She’s dressed too lightly.”

“No need, she won’t freeze to death. If it’s really that cold, she can just buy some herself when we get to Songyang. Let’s hit the road first.”

Xia Chan pouted and playfully made a face at her teacher’s back. Catching the whole display in the rearview mirror, Lin Wanshuang couldn’t help but let out a small laugh.

Realizing she had been caught, Xia Chan immediately flashed a massive, beaming smile at Lin Wanshuang through the mirror.

Lin Wanshuang didn’t play along for long, however, as her attention was quickly drawn away by a flurry of messages from Qiao Yi.

Qiao Yi: Go check your email right now!!!

Qiao Yi: It’s an absolute miracle from the heavens!

Qiao Yi: The jerks who spread those rumors about you were personally fired by the director, and they even put out an institute wide notice about it!
