Chapter 18 — Steel, Secrets, and Soft Warnings

The Arsenal King of The Slave World

Ren remained seated on the edge of the bed for a while longer, quietly watching Lyra sleep. The morning light had grown a little stronger, but the thick curtains still kept the room dim and private. After confirming once more that the watcher was still present somewhere to the northeast, he made his decision.

He opened the system panel again.

First, he selected the Normal AK-47 blueprint.

**[Crafting: Normal AK-47]**

Materials consumed:

- Special Hardwood ×1

- Weapon Fragment ×1

Blue light gathered in front of him. In less than ten seconds, a fully assembled AK-47 appeared in his hands, heavy and solid. The wooden stock and handguard looked slightly different from the ones in his memories, but the weight, balance, and design were unmistakable.

Ren examined it carefully, then stored it inside the system inventory.

Next, he opened the newly unlocked ammunition section.

**[Purchase]**

- 7.62×39mm Ammunition ×1000 rounds

- Extra Magazine (30-round) ×5

Total cost: 1 Gold Coin

The items materialized instantly. He loaded one magazine, checked the action, then stored everything away.

Finally, he turned to the five Wolf Leader Bones.

**[Manufacture: Holy Ammunition]**

Material: Wolf Leader Bone ×5

Result: Holy 7.62mm Rounds ×150

A soft golden light wrapped around the bones before they transformed into neatly packed ammunition boxes. Each bullet carried a faint sacred aura. Ren stored them carefully. These would be extremely effective against undead, demons, and dark creatures.

Only after finishing everything did he turn back toward the bed.

He reached out and gently brushed Lyra’s cheek.

“Lyra. Wake up.”

Her wolf ears twitched. Crimson eyes slowly opened, still hazy with sleep. When she focused on him, a soft, content expression appeared on her face. She stretched slightly under the blanket, making no effort to cover herself.

“Morning…” she murmured.

Ren sat down beside her and began explaining everything he had seen in the system. He told her about Perfect Targeting, his unusually high Mana and Magic Capacities, the Skill Capacity, the new crafting options, the Holy Ammunition, and finally the two Future Paths.

Lyra listened in complete silence. The more she heard, the wider her eyes became.

When he finished, she sat up, holding the blanket against her chest.

“Your capacities are… extravagant,” she said seriously. “Mana Capacity double that of a normal Level 10, Magic Capacity five times higher, and Skill Capacity also five times higher. If you continue growing at this rate, you could easily become one of the highest-level humans in this world. Maybe even beyond that.”

Ren gave a small shrug. “Numbers don’t mean much if I don’t know how to use them properly.”

He then picked up the newly crafted AK-47 from the system and showed it to her.

“From now on, I’ll be using weapons like this more often. They are loud. Much louder than anything you’ve heard so far. In the future there will be even stronger ones. You’ll have to get used to the noise.”

Lyra’s ears folded back slightly at the memory of the previous gunshots.

“I can manage,” she said after a moment. “But… sudden gunfire still makes my body react. It startles me.”

“That’s normal,” Ren replied calmly. “Even trained soldiers flinch the first few times. Ordinary people panic. Your reaction is already better than most.”

Lyra nodded slowly, accepting his words.

Then Ren brought up the two Future Paths in more detail.

“The first path lets me summon fully trained modern soldiers whenever I want. They would be completely loyal and need no training. But they can never be given to anyone else, and if I die, they all disappear.”

“The second path is slower but more permanent. I would need land or a territory. Then I could build factories, train real people, create an actual nation, and even develop air forces or navies later. The soldiers from that path can be transferred and will remain even without me.”

Lyra thought carefully.

“Both paths are powerful… but also dangerous. If the wrong people learn you can create an army, every kingdom will try to control or destroy you.”

“I know,” Ren said. “That’s why I’m not choosing either of them yet.”

He then lowered his voice.

“There’s something else. Someone is watching the inn. I can’t pinpoint the exact location — only the direction. Northeast. Whoever it is has very good concealment. I believe they are higher level than me.”

Lyra’s expression immediately turned serious. Her ears stood upright.

“A spy?”

“Most likely. From the capital.”

Ren looked her in the eyes.

“From now on, we have to act like ordinary adventurers. In public we fight with swords and magic only. No guns. No system abilities if we can help it. We need to look normal.”

Lyra nodded firmly.

After a moment of silence, she spoke again.

“Then… can you buy a skill book? Something for swordsmanship — both attack and defense. If we have to fight like normal adventurers, I should at least become competent with a blade. And you should too.”

Ren considered it, then nodded.

“That’s a good idea. We’ll look for skill books today.”

He reached out and gently pulled her into his arms. Lyra rested her head against his chest without resistance, her tail curling lightly around his waist.

Outside, unseen eyes continued to watch the inn.

Inside, two people quietly began preparing for the dangerous path ahead.
