18 – Sorry, my car never gives rides to girls
Ruan Tiantian was utterly baffled. She hadn’t done anything, yet this woman had come to provoke her.
She frowned, her patience wearing thin.
Upon hearing Jiang Xizi’s words, Shen Xiuyu turned his head and glanced at her.
“Why are you still following me?”
Jiang Xizi shot a look at Ruan Tiantian and smiled smugly. “Brother Xiuyu, Aunt Shi asked us to go home together today. You haven’t forgotten, have you?”
Ruan Tiantian pursed her lips and rolled her eyes in exasperation.
Did she really have to show off in front of her? She might treat Shen Xiuyu like a treasure, but what did that have to do with her?
Shen Xiuyu suddenly remembered that his mother had called him last time, asking him to come home over the weekend. She had indeed mentioned a girl, but he couldn’t recall the details.
“What did my mom want you for?”
“It’s been a long time since I last saw Aunt Shi. She must have missed me.”
Shen Xiuyu asked again, “And who are you?”
“Jiang Xizi, sophomore, College of Fine Arts.”
Shen Xiuyu looked down at Jiang Xizi, his tone dripping with arrogance.
“So, you’re actually a year ahead of me. What’s with calling me ‘brother’? I don’t recall ever having another sister. Isn’t that right, senior?”
Hearing this, Ruan Tiantian couldn’t help but smile. Shen Xiuyu’s words were sharp—he really didn’t spare anyone’s feelings.
Jiang Xizi’s expression froze, and she shot an annoyed glance at Ruan Tiantian.
Ruan Tiantian’s smile never faded; she was holding back laughter the entire time. Meeting Jiang Xizi’s gaze, she raised an eyebrow triumphantly.
Jiang Xizi glared at Ruan Tiantian before turning back to Shen Xiuyu. “I don’t know the exact location of your house, so I need to follow you there.”
With that, she turned and walked away. In truth, she already knew where he lived, but she wanted to spend more time with Shen Xiuyu, which was why she insisted on following him.
Shen Xiuyu’s gaze fell on Ruan Tiantian’s face. The girl’s smile lingered at the corners of her lips, like a victorious little kitten.
He reached out and snapped his fingers at her.
“Get me an iced Americano, to go.”
Ruan Tiantian snapped out of her thoughts at the sound of his snap, glanced at him, and began taking the order.
“You can scan now.”
Shen Xiuyu held up his phone, opened the WeChat QR code, and aimed it at the scanner.
Beep—
Ruan Tiantian tore off the receipt and handed it to Shen Xiuyu.
He lowered his gaze to the girl’s fair, slender hand. He had seen many fair-skinned girls before, and even his own complexion was pale and cool-toned.
But compared to Ruan Tiantian’s, they all seemed to fall short.
He reached out and took the receipt from her hand. His fingertips accidentally brushed against hers, and he smiled faintly before taking the receipt and casually sitting down at a nearby table.
Ruan Tiantian felt as if an electric current had shot through her fingertips at the touch, like a sudden static shock.
Even her heartbeat skipped a beat.
She took a deep breath and cautiously glanced toward Shen Xiuyu, careful not to be noticed.
Shen Xiuyu sat in the corner, a pure white cat lying at his feet. He held his phone in one hand, a ring adorning his index finger.
The screen was horizontal, and his fingers moved deftly across it as he played a game with ease and confidence.
Then, his phone rang.
Shen Xiuyu frowned slightly, exited the game, and answered the call.
“Coach, what’s up?”
“Training, I don’t have time right now. I need to go home first, but I can come over in the afternoon.”
He only said two sentences before hanging up the phone.
Ruan Tiantian said to him, “Shen Xiuyu, your iced Americano is packed and ready.”
He looked up, walked over, and took the paper takeout bag from the counter.
His gaze lingered on her maid outfit for a long while, then he lowered his voice and said, “You look really good in this.”
Upon hearing his words, Ruan Tiantian widened her eyes and reached out, wanting to teach him a lesson—to show him how to behave.
How dare he flirt with her!
This Shen Xiuyu really had some nerve. Couldn’t he tell she hated him?
Shen Xiuyu took a few steps back, smiled, and said, “I’ll come see you again next time.”
Ruan Tiantian retorted immediately, “I don’t want you to see me!”
Shen Xiuyu didn’t say anything else. He simply lifted the door curtain and walked out.
As soon as he stepped outside, he saw Jiang Xizi standing next to his motorcycle, playing with her phone.
He walked over without acknowledging her, casually hung the bag, put on his helmet, swung his leg over the motorcycle, and revved the engine.
The motorcycle roared loudly.
Jiang Xizi looked at the young man on the motorcycle. Just as she was about to say something, Shen Xiuyu lowered the visor of his helmet and tossed out a sentence.
“Sorry, my bike never carries girls. Sorry to trouble you, senior, to take a taxi.”
The young man’s tone was arrogant to the extreme, using the most unapologetic manner to say something polite.
It had to be Shen Xiuyu. In his world, there was no such thing as being a gentleman.
He was a rogue, doing things mostly according to his own whims. If he didn’t want to do something, even the heavens couldn’t force him.
After saying this, he revved the engine, and the black heavy motorcycle sped off.
Jiang Xizi remained standing where she was. This was the second time she had watched Shen Xiuyu’s retreating figure.
She had no choice but to resign herself and take out her phone to call a taxi for herself.
Shen Xiuyu rode fast and recklessly, just like his personality—unrestrained and defiant.
The black Ducati raced down the asphalt road, the wind whipping at his clothes. He leaned forward slightly, his fair collarbone exposed to the sunlight, a metal chain hanging around his chest.
His loose T-shirt was pressed against his body by the wind, faintly revealing the outline of his abs. His shoulders were straight, typical of a square-shouldered build.
His cool, pale skin seemed to glow under the sun, attracting attention wherever he went.
Men driving private cars on the road couldn’t help but look enviously at the young man on the motorcycle.
It was as if they could see their own youth reflected in him.
Shen Xiuyu rode for nearly an hour before reaching the villa.
His family’s villa was an estate—the Sea and Sky No. 8 Estate.
Shen Xiuyu parked his motorcycle in his own parking spot, then took the elevator to the second floor.
As soon as the elevator doors opened, he saw his mother sitting on the sofa, along with his older sister, who hadn’t been home in a long time.
He walked over, casually sat down on the sofa, grabbed a handful of seedless grapes from the coffee table, and tossed them into his mouth.
Shi Yuting looked at him disapprovingly and began to scold him.
“Look at you, why did you come back alone? Where’s Xizi? Why didn’t you bring her with you?”
Shen Xiuyu popped another grape into his mouth and said flippantly, “She has legs, doesn’t she? Why do I have to bring her back? It’s not like she’s anything to me.”
“She’s my guest, and she goes to the same school as you. Don’t you even know that?”
