“What if Xu Tian refuses to sign?” Xu Rixin frowned. He knew Xu Tian too well—he never responded to force, only to softness.

“He won’t have a choice!” Xu Pingfeng’s eyes turned sharp. “If he dares not to sign, I’ll make sure he disappears for good.”

Xu Rixin’s brow furrowed slightly. He could tell that this time, Xu Pingfeng was dead serious. Still, he was uneasy. After a moment of hesitation, he said, “Dad, if Tang Bingyan finds out, she definitely won’t let us off easily.”Full novel: The Beautiful CEO Only Loves Me — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Rixin, you’re just too softhearted,” Xu Pingfeng sighed. “Right now, CEO Li of the Fujian Group thinks highly of you. With him as your backer, even if Tang Bingyan finds out—so what? I know her background is mysterious and powerful, but do you think Li Fujian is someone easy to deal with?”

“Rixin, a man must be ruthless when needed!” Yang Rongjuan also joined in to persuade him. “Over the years, our Xu family has built up some minor achievements, but it’s not enough. Only by getting hold of the assets in Xu Tian’s hands will you have the foundation to truly make your mark in the outside world.”

Xu Rixin fell silent. He didn’t hesitate because of any brotherly feelings toward Xu Tian. The real reason was Tang Bingyan. That woman was like a mountain, and just her aura alone often made it hard for him to breathe. But his parents weren’t wrong either. Now that Li Fujian was interested in him, this was his opportunity to rise. Xu Tian and Tang Bingyan had to be separated. He had to get the property Tang Bingyan left behind for Xu Tian.

With that thought, a cold glint flashed in Xu Rixin’s eyes. “I’ll go get him.”

He quickly ran upstairs and brought Xu Tian down.

Yang Rongjuan glanced at Xu Tian and pushed the folder in front of him. “Sign it.”

Xu Tian glanced down—it was the divorce agreement between him and Tang Bingyan, along with several property transfer documents.

“Xu Tian, things between you and Bingyan have come to this point. We’re doing this for your own good. Sign it,” Xu Rixin patted him on the shoulder, acting like the concerned older brother.

Xu Tian said calmly, “And if I don’t sign?”

Yang Rongjuan and Xu Pingfeng’s expressions immediately darkened.

“Xu Tian, this isn’t a discussion—we’re informing you. Whether you sign it or not, that signature is happening today!” Xu Pingfeng sneered. “You should know, in Huaxia, countless people disappear every year without a trace. If you refuse to sign, don’t be surprised if one day you vanish too.”

A chill ran through Xu Tian’s heart. The reason he dared remain in this house after being locked up by Xu Pingfeng and Yang Rongjuan was because of his memories from his previous life. He knew they still feared Tang Bingyan and wouldn’t dare kill him yet. But he hadn’t expected them to resort to this so quickly. They actually wanted him dead?

Xu Tian paused for a moment and said, “I need some time to think. Can you give me a little time?”

“Trying to stall?” Xu Pingfeng snorted. “Tang Bingyan has already left. She’s not coming back for you. Today, you either sign and walk out of here, or stay here forever.”

“Don’t force us, Xu Tian,” Yang Rongjuan added coldly. Visit g.com for the full chapter.

“Sign it, Xu Tian. If you do, we’ll still be family,” said Xu Rixin with a smile.

Xu Tian’s eyes narrowed slightly as he looked at the three people in front of him. In his past life, how had he never noticed just how disgusting this family was?

As Xu Tian stayed silent, the tension in the room grew to a suffocating level. A few seconds later, as if losing patience, Xu Pingfeng lunged at him!

“Rixin, hold him down!”

Xu Rixin responded instantly, rushing at Xu Tian from the right.

But Xu Tian was quick. He leaped over the sofa just in time, causing both of them to pounce on empty air. He wasted no time and sprinted toward his room. He didn’t try to escape the house because he knew there were guards stationed outside. That would only make things worse. His only option now was to retreat into his room and figure something out.

Despite looking frail, Xu Tian was agile. Within moments, he had locked himself inside his room.

BAM!

He had just slammed the door shut when Xu Pingfeng and Xu Rixin arrived outside.

“BAM BAM BAM!”

“Xu Tian, you think hiding in there is going to help you?” Xu Pingfeng pounded the door furiously. “Get out here!”

Inside the room, Xu Tian’s expression remained calm. He quickly dragged the bookcase and bed to block the door.

“You think hiding will save you?” Xu Pingfeng’s voice turned even colder. “Rixin, go to the storage room and get the gasoline. Since he wants to hole up in there, we’ll burn him out. Save us the trouble of dealing with the mess later.”

As soon as Xu Pingfeng said that, heavy footsteps could be heard outside—it was Xu Rixin going to fetch the gasoline.

This room was on the second floor. The windows were sealed with steel bars—there was no way out. Xu Pingfeng wasn’t bluffing. If they set this house on fire, he was as good as dead.

Soon, the pungent smell of gasoline filled the room. Outside the door, Xu Rixin and Xu Pingfeng were pouring it liberally around the entrance.

The scent stirred terrifying memories from Xu Tian’s past life—how he had been burned alive in a fire just like this…

“Xu Tian, don’t blame us. If anything, blame yourself. Tang Bingyan’s background was your ticket to the top, but you had to be reckless. All of this—you brought it on yourself!”

As Xu Rixin mumbled to himself while pouring gasoline, Xu Pingfeng said, “That’s enough. Light it.”

“Got it.”

Xu Rixin took out a lighter and flicked it open.

CLICK.

The sound echoed ominously.

Inside the room, Xu Tian felt the shadow of death creeping closer.

DING-DONG!

Suddenly, the doorbell rang.

A moment later, Xu Rixin’s phone buzzed. It was a call from the Xu family’s security guard.

Xu Rixin answered, confused as to why they were calling now.

“Mr. Xu, CEO Li has arrived. He’s at the front gate.”
