Xu Pingfeng let out a sigh. “Today, we can’t touch that little bastard Xu Tian.”

“Then what do we do? Just let him go?” Xu Rixin said nervously. “If we let him walk away like this, he’s definitely going to take revenge on us.”

Xu Pingfeng thought for a moment and said, “Go talk to him. At this point, we can only try to reconcile.”Full novel: The Beautiful CEO Only Loves Me — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“What if he refuses to make peace?” Xu Rixin was still uneasy. He knew Xu Tian too well. That guy was stubborn, immune to threats, and held grudges.

A vicious glint flashed in Xu Pingfeng’s eyes. “If he won’t make peace, then tonight I’ll make sure he dies in a sea of fire.”

Of course, that was the worst-case scenario. He wouldn’t go that far unless he absolutely had to.

“Let’s go talk to him,” Xu Pingfeng said, leading Yang Rongjuan and Xu Rixin up the stairs.

At this moment, Xu Tian’s door had already been bolted shut from the inside.

BANG!

Xu Tian was using a chair to smash the window. He was trying to break through the security bars, but the toughness of the steel was far beyond his expectations.

Just then, footsteps echoed outside the door.

Xu Tian’s heart sank. He was about to continue smashing when Xu Pingfeng’s voice came from outside.

“Xu Tian, we were just trying to scare you earlier. If you don’t want to sign, then don’t. We’ll respect your choice.”

“Scare me?” Xu Tian almost laughed. “You call pouring gasoline ‘scaring me’?”

A long silence followed from the other side of the door.

After a while, Yang Rongjuan spoke again. “Xu Tian, here’s the thing—your brother’s company recently suffered major losses and lacks liquidity. That’s why we wanted to borrow the assets Tang Bingyan left you, just to turn things around.”

“Your father and brother did act rashly, but we’re family. How could we really burn you alive?”

“It really was just to scare you. Come on out.”

Xu Rixin also spoke up. “Xu Tian, it’s true we were too impulsive just now. I’m sorry.”

Hearing this, Xu Tian frowned slightly.

He found it suspicious. They were ready to burn him alive just moments ago—why the sudden change in tone?

Could it be that Li Fujian had come earlier?

Xu Tian quietly speculated. He wasn’t sure, but he knew one thing for certain: if he continued to resist, he’d only push Xu Pingfeng and the others to the edge, and they might really torch him.

One way or another, it was a risk. The only option was to open the door and see how things played out.

With a deep breath, Xu Tian suppressed all his emotions, moved the furniture away from the door, and unlocked it.

“Xu Tian, it was all just a misunderstanding. After all, we’re family. How could we truly want to harm you?” Xu Pingfeng said, smiling faintly.

Xu Tian looked at him without expression and gave a light “hmm.”

Xu Tian had only guessed that Li Fujian had come, but now it was confirmed—Li Fujian had saved his life unintentionally.

A faint smile appeared on Xu Tian’s lips. “Relationship? What do you think my relationship with him is?”

Xu Pingfeng frowned. “If we knew, would we be asking you?”

Xu Tian gave a small laugh but didn’t respond.

He knew very well they were trying to probe him, but in his current situation, there was no way he’d reveal anything.

After a brief standoff, Xu Pingfeng sighed. “Fine. If you don’t want to say, we won’t ask. Go get some rest. Oh, and CEO Li left a message. If you have time, give him a call.”

He added, “Also, don’t mention you were upstairs tonight.”

Since Xu Pingfeng had said that, Xu Tian didn’t hold back. He asked for his phone and left the Xu residence quickly.

As soon as he walked out the door and turned on his phone, dozens of missed calls from the same number popped up.

Before he could call back, the phone rang again. It was that number.

Xu Tian answered. On the other end came Li Fujian’s voice. “Is this Mr. Xu Tian?”

“CEO Li, right?” Xu Tian asked.

“Yes, it’s me!” Li Fujian’s voice immediately grew excited. “Mr. Xu, you still remember me—that’s wonderful!”

“You came for your son’s situation, didn’t you?” Xu Tian went straight to the point.

“Yes, yes, that’s right! Mr. Xu, I should’ve listened to you at the hospital. After I went home and checked the security footage… well, it’s a family disgrace. I won’t go into detail. But Mr. Xu, how did you know my son was poisoned?”

Xu Tian didn’t bother making excuses. He asked directly, “Do you want to save your son or not?”

“I do! Of course I do!” Li Fujian quickly responded.

“Then stop asking questions. Pick a place. We’ll meet.”

“Anywhere you say, Mr. Xu. I can even come to your house.”

Li Fujian’s tone was overly respectful.

Anyone from Jiang Province’s business world would be shocked if they heard him—Li Fujian, known for his domineering presence, was speaking so humbly?

But to Xu Tian, it wasn’t surprising. After all, the man’s son’s life was in his hands.

After thinking for a moment, Xu Tian said, “No need to come to my place. Let’s meet at Cui Ju Teahouse.”

It was a nearby teahouse, perfect for a private conversation.

“No problem. Shall I send someone to pick you up?”

“No need. I’ll go myself. Wait for me there.”

After arriving at the private room, Xu Tian saw Li Fujian already waiting, who immediately stepped forward with enthusiasm.

“Mr. Xu, I truly failed to recognize someone extraordinary back at the hospital. Please forgive me.”

“It’s fine. I guess it took a bit of conflict to become acquainted.” Xu Tian smiled calmly.

“I do have a prescription, but the ingredients aren’t easy to find,” Xu Tian replied.

“Just tell me what to get. Whether the ingredients can be found or not is my problem. If you’re willing to share the prescription, I’ll owe you for life.”

With Li Fujian’s sincerity, Xu Tian didn’t hide anything. He pulled out the prescription he had written earlier.

“CEO Li, follow this exactly. Three doses a day. Within a week, your son should recover.”

Li Fujian took the prescription and skimmed it. Though he didn’t understand the names of the herbs, he trusted this could save his son’s life.

“Mr. Xu, I can’t thank you enough!”

Li Fujian’s hands were shaking with excitement. “I won’t say more—if you ever need anything from me, don’t hesitate to ask!”

With that, he left hurriedly.

Not long after, a man in a suit came in carrying a box.

Xu Tian recognized him—one of Li Fujian’s bodyguards.

“Mr. Xu, CEO Li asked me to give this to you. He left in a hurry and forgot to hand it over.”

The bodyguard placed the box on the tea table and opened it. Inside were stacks of cash—one million, no more, no less.

“Well, CEO Li knows how to show gratitude. At least my trip wasn’t in vain,” Xu Tian said with a smirk.

“I’ll accept this generous gift.”

The bodyguard said nothing more, nodded, and quietly left the room.

Alone in the private room, Xu Tian sat for a few minutes. Then he dialed a number.

“Lawyer Wu, I’ve decided to sign the divorce papers. But before I do, I want to see Chen Xiaoxiao.”

…

In Jiang City, at Yan Corporation.

Chen Xiaoxiao was buried in documents at the CEO’s office when a secretary stepped in.

“Assistant Chen, the front desk just called. A man named Xu Tian is here to see you.”

Without even looking up, she said, “Let him in.”

Lawyer Wu had already told her earlier that Xu Tian agreed to the divorce. The documents she was signing were for transferring Yan Corporation to him.

Soon, Xu Tian entered the office.

Chen Xiaoxiao glanced at him, picked up a file, and pushed it across the table.

“This is the divorce agreement. Once you sign, everything here will be yours.”

“Before I sign, I want to see Bingyan. Where is she?” Xu Tian asked directly.
