“Let’s pack up and go.” Wen Yu lowered his head and kissed her little face. He didn’t want to scare her, but he couldn’t help it—he wanted to kiss her too badly.

Ning Weiying didn’t think much of it either. After all, they were getting married anyway, but her little face still blushed with shyness.

“Where do you live now? I’ll go back with you to pack your things, and we’ll get the certificate this afternoon.” Wen Yu wrapped his arm around her as they walked out. This needed to happen fast—otherwise, if the girl changed her mind, who would he cry to?Full novel: The Big Shot Tricked Me Into a Flash Marriage, and Now I’m Pampered and Spoiled — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Yuejiang Apartments.” Was it really happening this quickly?

Wen Yu helped her into the car and said to Chen Yan in the driver’s seat, “Yuejiang Apartments.” Then he turned to help Ning Weiying buckle her seatbelt.

Chen Yan: His boss was truly something else—he’d managed to bring the girl home in less than a day. Tsk, tsk, tsk. And she was the campus belle of Yihai Conservatory of Music, no less.

Yuejiang Apartments

Ning Weiying led Wen Yu into the complex, onto the elevator, and through the door without saying a single word the entire time, only holding his hand. Was she really getting married just like that?

“Beep.” The door opened. This complex was close to the school and had excellent security, which was why Ning Weiying had chosen this place when she started university. The apartments here weren’t cheap, but even though her parents had divorced, her father still sent her money every month. After all, money was the only thing her father could give her—though her mother didn’t know about it.

Ning Weiying was packing her things in the bedroom, and Wen Yu couldn’t really help, so he wandered around the apartment. The place clearly looked like someone had lived in it long-term. He walked over to Ning Weiying. “Have you been living here all along? Not in the dorms?” Wen Yu asked her. The dorms at Yihai Conservatory of Music were excellent—countless people would kill to get in, purely for the dormitory.

Ning Weiying was still packing and didn’t even turn her head. “Yeah, I didn’t want to deal with those roommates, so I just moved out.”

“Aren’t you scared living alone?”

“Not at all. I’m used to it.” She said it lightly, but as Wen Yu watched her back, it was as if she had always been this lonely, this solitary—nothing really mattered to her. Whether alone or with someone else, to her, it was all the same.

“Let’s go.” Ning Weiying had finished packing and looked at him.

“Okay.” His voice was hoarse. He looked at her, took the suitcase from her hands, held her hand, and walked out the door and into the car. Ning Weiying turned back to look at the complex. Goodbye.

“Hey, Mom, I’ve got great news—you have a daughter-in-law now.” That’s right, Wen Moci was tattling.

On the other end: …

“You little brat, you never study properly, and now you’ve gone and gotten yourself a girlfriend? Honestly, what girl was blind enough to fall for you…”

Wen Moci listened to his mother’s rapid-fire scolding and his brain completely short-circuited. What did I do wrong? Why am I being yelled at? By the time Wen Moci snapped back to reality, Mrs. Zhou was already too furious to speak. Wen Moci quickly explained.

“Mom, it’s not me—it’s my brother! He has a girlfriend!”

On the other end: …

“What? Since when does your brother—I called him yesterday and he said he didn’t have one! How is this so fast (⊙o⊙)!”

“Anyway, he just has one now. You two should come back quickly—they might have already gotten their certificate by now.” Wen Moci said this knowing his brother well. No matter what it was, once his brother set his eyes on something, he would get it no matter what.

Wen Moci hung up immediately, not giving his mother a chance to speak. He’d just wait for her to come back and scold his brother. Ha, he just loved causing trouble for his brother.

Wen Moci then called Zhou Yi—the one whose hat he’d snatched at the bar. “Hey, bro, where are you? Can I crash at your place for a few days?”

“What, did your brother find out and kick you out?” A hoarse voice came through the phone, clearly just woken up.

“Come on, just tell me yes or no. I’ll explain when I see you.” He wanted to live elsewhere too, but his brother had frozen his card, and his mother didn’t care at all—she thought he could survive even without money. So he had no choice but to bunk with his buddy.

“Fine, come on over. I’m home.” Zhou Yi lived alone anyway.

“Awesome, wait for me. I’ll pack up right now.” Wen Moci tossed his phone aside and ran upstairs to pack. He didn’t dare stay here any longer—if his little sister-in-law recognized him, his brother would beat him to death. Just thinking about it made his whole body ache.

The car drove into Qingyun Bay. Ning Weiying looked at the villa before her, utterly awestruck. Her own family was wealthy, but this was on another level entirely. The house was a four-story standalone with white walls, European-style architecture, and a private garden at the front. Capitalists really knew how to enjoy life.

Wen Yu opened the car door and helped her out. Somehow, as she stepped out, her vision suddenly went black and she stumbled, about to fall. Wen Yu reacted in a flash, catching her around the waist and lifting her into his arms. “What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?” He looked down at the little head nestled against his neck, his face tense with concern.

“I’m fine, just a bit of low blood sugar.” Ning Weiying shook her head in his arms, then wiggled her legs. “Put me down. I can walk on my own.”

Wen Yu said nothing, carrying her toward the house. Ning Weiying didn’t insist either—she didn’t really want to get down. Ever since she could remember, her father had never held her, barely even seen her. She craved this embrace, found it so warm. Wen Yu looked at the small hands wrapped around his neck, and his heart melted completely.

Wen Moci quickly packed his things, then tiptoed downstairs with his luggage. He stood at the bottom of the stairs, craning his neck to peek left and right. Perfect—his brother wasn’t back yet. Hahaha, charge! He grabbed his suitcase and bolted for the entrance.

“Where are you going?” A soft, sweet voice sounded from behind him. Ning Weiying watched his retreating figure. She’d thought he looked familiar at the hospital that day, and today she was determined to find out why.

Wen Moci: ~( ̄▽ ̄~)~

Wen Moci turned around stiffly to see his sister-in-law sitting on the sofa, a little blanket draped over her.

Wen Moci: In this heat, his brother was covering her with a blanket? Wasn’t he afraid of overheating his little sister-in-law?

Ning Weiying stared at him, her small brows furrowed, as if trying to place where she knew him from. Wen Moci felt uneasy under her gaze, a chill running down his spine. He was trying to figure out how to slip away—at this rate, his sister-in-law would definitely figure him out.

“I’ve seen you before,” Ning Weiying said to him.

Wen Moci: (o o)

This is bad, this is bad. His sister-in-law was about to recognize him.

“You confessed to me, didn’t you?” Ning Weiying leaned back on the sofa, tilting her head at him.

Wen Moci: !!

Wen Yu, who had just walked out of the kitchen:

Before Wen Moci could say anything, he heard someone call his name from behind. “Wen Moci.” He instinctively turned around and saw his brother walking over with a water cup in hand. Oh no, his brother must have heard that. Wen Moci stood frozen in place, not daring to move.

Wen Yu handed the cup to her, and Ning Weiying obediently took it, even saying “thank you.” She leaned back on the sofa, sipping the hot water, while Wen Yu sat with his legs crossed, holding his little darling in his arms. The room fell into silence. Wen Moci didn’t know whether to stay or leave, and was quietly trying to sneak out when Wen Yu pulled out his phone, tapped it a few times, then said to the little darling in his arms,

“Are you sleepy? Go take a nap for a while.” He had just seen her yawn.
