The next day arrived.
Jack arrived at school and sat in his seat, idly watching his classmates, expecting another bored and repetitive day—that is, until she came.
“Alright everyone, settle down and grab your seats,” the teacher said the moment he entered the class.
“Before we start today’s lesson, we have a new student joining our class. This is Gwendolyn Tennyson. She just moved here from Bellwood; let’s make sure she feels welcomed.”
The teacher turned to Jack, who was the only one who coincidentally had a free seat beside him.
“Jack, since you sit right there, can you make sure she gets a copy of the syllabus and show her around the school after this period?” The teacher then turned back to the newcomer.
“Welcome to the City, Gwen. Take the seat beside Jack.”
The girl who had been standing close to him—red hair, green eyes, a white shirt under a dark blue sweater and a mini-skirt—nodded before walking down the aisle.
After sitting in the seat beside him, she turned to Jack with a smile.
“Hey, I’m Gwen. Let me know if I need to catch up on any notes from last week. I hate falling behind.”
“Jack,” Jack said and dug his hand into his bag before he brought out his chemistry, biology, and math notes.
“Here.”
“Thanks,” Gwen said.
Setting the book on her desk, she turned her attention to the whiteboard, watching as the teacher started his lesson.
Jack also turned to the front, although he still subtly glanced at her out of the corner of his eye.
‘It’s really Gwen…’ he thought in surprise.
Although he already had a feeling that the Ben 10 team would be in this world, he hadn’t expected to meet one of them like this…
as a classmate.
‘Now that I think of it…’ Jack’s brows furrowed slightly.
Probably not, right?’

After the school bell rang, texting Eve that he wouldn’t be coming to the library during lunch period, Jack stood up and approached Gwen.
“Come on. I’ll introduce you to the school,” he said.
Gwen, who was packing her book, paused and then turned to him.
“Thanks, I appreciate it. Lead the way.”
The two left the class and navigated through the crowded hallway.
Jack showed her the chaotic cafeteria, the basketball courts, and the main auditorium, and right as he led her into the science wing, a buzz sounded—audible only to him.
“Uh, actually, I think I should go. I completely forgot something,” Jack said with an awkward smile as he slowly backed away.
“I’ll show you the rest of the school right after this, promise!”
“Oh, okay then,” Gwen said, watching with a raised eyebrow as Jack bolted down the hallway.
Just as she was about to give herself her own special tour, her phone began to vibrate in her pocket.
Bringing it out, she frowned slightly as she saw the caller ID—Doofus.
“What’s with you calling me, Doofus?” Gwen asked.
“Oh, trust me, I wouldn’t call you if it wasn’t an emergency,” Ben’s voice came through the phone, sounding out of breath, causing Gwen’s lips to twitch.
“Don’t tell me you ditched school… again,” Gwen said with irritation laced in her words.
“School duties don’t matter, Gwen. Hero duties do,” Ben said, sounding somewhat cocky.
Gwen rolled her eyes.
“If you don’t have better things to say, I’m ending the call.”
“Wait! Wait!” Ben shouted.
“Kevin and I need your help!”
“Ugh, what happened now?” Gwen muttered in annoyance.
“Look…” Ben’s voice surprisingly switched to a serious one.
“Hey, what—”
The phone let out a beep, not letting Gwen finish her words.
Sighing, she ran out of the school building, but just as she stepped out, she felt a forceful wind from above ruffling her clothes.
Gwen blinked in confusion and looked up, but seeing no one, she just shrugged.
“Guess it must have been my imagination,” she mumbled and sneaked away from the school, running towards Downtown.

Superboy appeared in the sky above downtown, but the people he expected to see—the teen team—were not there.
Instead, a flaming humanoid and a metal humanoid battled the Flaxans, although they were slowly being suppressed.
‘They really came to The City,’ Superboy thought, naturally familiar with the two—Benjamin Kirby Tennyson and Kevin Ethan Levin
Boom!
He descended to the ground like a meteor, striking the ground and creating a crater, killing some Flaxans.
In the midst of the dust clouds, his laser shot out, slashing through the waists of numerous Flaxans.
Stepping out of the dust cloud, he turned to the stunned Ben and Kevin with a smile.
“Nice to meet you. I’m Superboy.”
Superboy said with a smile.
“Superboy? Seriously?… Great, another chuunibyo superhero in a suit,” Kevin scoffed, waving away the dust.
Suddenly, from above, the teen team arrived with Invincible.
“Hey! Who the heck are these?!” Rex Splode yelled, sliding to a halt, throwing glowing projectiles at the Flaxans while eyeing Ben’s team warily.
“Rex, redirect your aggression towards the Flaxans. Judging by the alien casualties surrounding these individuals, they are currently acting as our allies,” Robot said, firing beams at the Flaxans.
Atom Eve slowly descended, hovering beside Superboy.
“Hey,” she said with a smile.
Superboy smiled back at her, then turned to the Flaxans—staring particularly at two Flaxans piloting two massive robots, much bigger than the ones he had fought before.
“I’ll be going,” Superboy said to the group, then exploded forward.
Flaxans in his path burst apart as he closed the distance between himself and the robots and punched out.
