While also trying to ignore the tight squeeze, his hand was giving me.

He opened the door; his home was massive.

“Woah, so this is how the other half lives?” I blurted out.Full novel: The Bully’s Obsession with a Gamer Girl — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

His home was immaculate, clean, sleek, and modern.

Everything matched perfectly.

The living room was walled with windows, giving a landscape of the city as wallpaper.

“The other half?” They both looked at me and asked.

“Yeah, people with wealth, you know, the ones who don’t live paycheck to paycheck.

The other half.” I acted a little prejudice with how I said it.

But it’s true.

I grew up wearing rags and fighting for scraps until I got a job and started feeding myself and shopping for my own things.

I had to keep it all hidden.

Eat before I came home.

I couldn’t keep food in the fridge.

The two guys with me here could never understand what that’s like.

To be hungry.

“Ouch, I could feel the chill from the shade you threw in our direction.” Hyung Jun Oh teased.

“Only a little shade, with a little chill.” I winked.

“You were riding first class, what do you know about being hungry.” Taeyung scoffed folding his arms across his chest.

I couldn’t help myself, but that hit hard, something more personal.

I got mad.

I walked over and practically climbed down his throat, “Don’t you ever make assumptions about me or my past.

You know nothing about me.

Nothing about what I’ve been through.” I felt my aggravation simmering beneath the surface.

“Oh man, I’d be careful, if I were you, this one has a mean hook.” Hyung Jun Oh half joked.

“Oh?

Where did you hear that?” Kim Taeyung raised his brows questioningly at the both of us.

“I saw it myself.” Hyung Jun Oh sounded way too proud of himself for something I did.

My forehead tilted down into my palm.

Kim Taeyung looked over at me with shock.

“Oh?” “She deserved it.” I shrugged.

“I don’t regret it.” “See, ruthless.

I told you.” Hyung Jun Oh teased.

“What did she do to deserve it?” Kim Taeyung smirked.

“I came here to game, not gossip!” I yelled.

I did not want to talk about this!

“Some girl said some homophobic shit and our Bees, over here, popped the girl square in her mouth.” Hyung Jun Oh squealed excitedly, like a little girl on Christmas.

“You did what!” Kim Taeyung held his stomach and busted out laughing.

“I punched her, okay?

Happy now?” I screamed wanting to pull my hair out.

“Can we please get online now?” “No, I want to continue to address this.” Hyung Jun Oh complained.

“Sure thing, Yeobo.” He sounded so seductive when he called me darling.

It was unfair.

I pretended to ignore it.

I could see Hyung Jun Oh fangirling like a Kpop teenybopper.

“Take a seat on the couch, I’ll bring snacks and stuff over.” Snacks?

Hyung Jun Oh eyes wide mouthed the same word to me.

I rolled my eyes at him, so ridiculous.

I sat down and took out my laptop.

It wasn’t as fancy as my system at home, and it was a little outdated, but it did the trick well enough.

Hyung Jun Oh’s was incredibly high tech.

The RAM on it must be insane.

“Wow, dude, I didn’t know you were packin’ like that.” Kim Taeyung said coming back in with instant noodle packs, sweet candies, salty corn snacks, and spicy chips.

“Woah is that for us?” I asked surprised by all he was carrying.

“Yeah, the Wi-Fi pass is PhuckIt!” “How cute.” I giggled; it was pretty original in my opinion.

“Yeah, I couldn’t come up with anything at the time and was just like ‘fuck it’ and for some reason that just stuck.” “You know, it suits you.” I laughed a little more.

I logged on to my newest Alt.

We me up on a newer server, under the impression I’m a weaker player.

“Here let me see your stats.” He scooted over to me, his leg touching mine.

This small contact made my breath hitch.

My cheeks heated up.

He pulled my computer over to him, his hands grazing my thighs.

I gulped.

He either didn’t notice the contact or pretended not too.

Is that beer?

Fuck no.

“No alcohol.” I stood up so quick I almost dropped my laptop on the floor, just barely catching it in time.

“What?

Why not?” Kim Taeyung frowned.

I was quiet.

I didn’t know what to say, I didn’t have a practiced lie for this.

I’ve never been in a situation like this.

I’ve never had to practice.

“I… Uh… Because… It’s bad for you.” Wow, how lame of an excuse.

“Throw me a beer!” Hyung Jun Oh called out.

No… No… this can’t be happening here too.

Kim Taeyung tossed the beer can to Hyung Jun Oh I responded on instinct.

I covered my head, ducked and dropped to my knees.

Waiting.

Waiting for the sound of glass shattering.

Or the sound of wood breaking.

My body was ready for the next impact.

The next hit.

The next throw.

The world around me was spinning.

I hear his words replaying in my mind.

“Bring me a beer bitch.” “You’re useless, just like your mother.” “A whore just like your mother.” “Worthless slut.” “Stupid little bitch.” “PHOEBE!

HEY!” I sucked in a deep breath, then started coughing hard, snapping back to the present.

Looking up, and there he was again.

Just like the last time I needed someone, he was bent down kneeling before me.

His eyes bit and stormy grey, like a raging tornado.

His lashes were unfairly long.

His skin was so flawless.

His lips a perfect light peach.

He is so incredibly beautiful.

“Are you okay?

What the fuck just happened?

You were crying staring off into space, like you were somewhere else?” He had such urgency and concern in his voice; it was so sincere it instantly brought me to tears.

I covered my face hiding my tears behind trembling hands.

“No.

But I will be.” I answered.

I hadn’t taken my eyes off his since they first connected.

He was grounding me in a way on Mouse ever did.

He ran his hand gently down the back of my head, smoothing out my hair.

“OMG.

You guys are like the perfect couple.

Look at this photo I snapped of the two of you!” Hyung Jun Oh squealed rushing over to show us.

He was right, we looked like a couple in love.

My lips slightly parted, with a slight pout and blushing cheeks my eyes focused on him.

Kim Taeyung had his hand around my head and his gentle smile.

His gaze downward to me said ‘you are my whole world.’ “Send that to me it is our first couples’ picture.” Kim Taeyung pulled his phone out.

I wanted to argue, but I couldn’t stop staring at the photo.

At someone being so tender and careful with me.

“Yeobo, you ready for some gaming?” His pet name for me brought me back.

“That’s the only reason I’m here.

I sniffled a little and wiped my eyes.

“Wow you’re this pretty with no makeup, how is that even real?” He smiled at me handing me some water.

“Thanks.” I unscrew the bottle and drink almost half.

“Wow, didn’t know you were such a thirsty girl.” The way he dragged the out thirsty was clearly for dramatics.

“You just have to find a way to spoil almost every moment, don’t you?” “So, you agree, we have moments?

Good.” “Ugh!” I threw my hands up and pushed him away, knocking him on to his bum.

He laughed hard.

I reached over and grabbed my laptop, powering up the game.

“That’s my girl.” “I’m not your girl.” “Yes, you are.

And this picture proves it.” He held up his phone, and his lock screen was the picture Hyung Jun Oh took.

“You’re relentless.

What’s wrong with me being my friend?

Hmm?” I folded my arms and narrowed my eyes, looking at him with a slightly angry pout.

“I want to be your best friend, I want more.

Just friends?

That’s not in my vocabulary.” “Whatever.” I rolled my eyes “Are you going to meet up or what?” I asked.
