When Nie Zhenzhen woke up, she found herself lying on an examination bed, covered with an extremely thin white single bedsheet.

She slowly opened her eyes, her eyelids as heavy as if weighted with lead. Her entire body was limp and devoid of any strength, every bone and muscle feeling as though it had come apart at the seams. Especially the dense, stinging pain emanating from her sensitive areas—even the slightest breath was enough to make her question her very existence.

Her limbs were firmly secured with leather buckles, spread-eagled and bound to the examination bed, completely unable to move. Though at this moment, she didn’t have the strength to move even if she wanted to.Full novel: The Cage: The Psycho Boss’s Plaything — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The girl stared blankly at the ceiling above with hollow, lifeless eyes. Her mind had already shut down, with only her heart and pulse still beating diligently for survival. Her breathing had become shallow and faint, so fragile it seemed as though it might cease at any moment.

Hadn’t she already prepared herself for the worst when she was captured? Yes, she had originally lost all will to live. But when death was imminent, both her body and her will had firmly told her—she must not give up, she had to survive… For herself, for Ji Wei, for her grandmother, for all those who cared about and loved her.

In the end, she had still lost her nerve. It turned out that when faced with survival, all dignity and rationality could be cast aside. She simply couldn’t face death with equanimity after all. Since that was the case, she would do everything in her power to keep herself alive.

A faint glimmer of light suddenly appeared in Nie Zhenzhen’s eyes, which had been as still and lifeless as dead ashes.

That glimmer gradually spread from the depths of her eyes, suppressing the despair and resignation in her heart. A thread of tenacity rekindled within her, and her weak pulse regained its strength to beat. She no longer allowed herself to sink into the abyss. A stubborn determination to live, to hold on, slowly grew in her heart, dragging herself back from the boundless darkness.

Just as Nie Zhenzhen was silently encouraging herself to stay strong and survive, a flurry of footsteps entered the room. What appeared before the girl was a middle-aged woman dressed as a doctor, wearing a white coat, a medical hair cap, and a mask. Her exact features were indistinguishable, but through those cold, indifferent eyes, one could see the chill and irritation within.

Standing beside the female doctor was a young nurse, around twenty years old—about the same age as the girl. Yet she exuded a coldness and ruthlessness that belied her age. Likewise, due to the medical mask she wore, the girl couldn’t make out her face.

Following behind them were two tall, burly guards. Their faces were expressionless, their eyes filled with indifference and heartlessness, projecting an air of purely going through the motions.

Before the girl could react, the female doctor had already strode forward. Without a single superfluous word, she yanked away the only covering on the girl’s body.

“External examination first,” the female doctor said coldly.

Before Nie Zhenzhen could even scream at this sudden humiliation, the female doctor had already deftly put on white medical gloves and produced a roll of soft measuring tape from somewhere, beginning to move it across the girl’s body, measuring her hip circumference, waist, chest, and other data.

With her hands and feet firmly restrained, the girl couldn’t move an inch, forced to passively endure this series of examinations in utter humiliation.

The female doctor conducted the examination with brisk, efficient movements, her touch neither too firm nor too light, while calmly calling out numbers to the nurse beside her. The nurse diligently bent her head to record everything.

The external examination was soon concluded. Just as Nie Zhenzhen secretly assumed the examination was over, the female doctor’s indifferent voice sounded again. “Next is the internal examination.”

Before Nie Zhenzhen could collect herself, the female doctor had already retrieved a metal tray from the long table, upon which lay cold medical examination instruments. One menacing metallic device on the tray glinted coldly under the light—merely looking at it made the girl’s heart race with fear, cold sweat beading on her skin.

The female doctor stepped forward and, without argument, adjusted the leather buckles on the girl’s legs. Her legs were forced apart into an M-shape, her most private area completely exposed to the air without any concealment.

Seeing her intimate parts laid bare before everyone’s eyes, the girl felt extreme humiliation and malice. She could feel her cheeks flush red and hot, as if fire were burning, spreading all the way to her ears. She had no means to resist, only to submit to being handled. She bit down hard on her lower lip, desperately trying not to let out a humiliating whimper.

“First time?” the female doctor asked coldly.

“Huh?” Nie Zhenzhen didn’t immediately grasp the meaning of the doctor’s question, looking at her with confusion.

“I’m asking whether you’ve never had sex before,” the female doctor explained again, a hint of exasperation and displeasure creeping into her tone.

Nie Zhenzhen nodded shyly, which served as her answer.

“Then there’s no need for instruments; I’ll just check with my hand.” The female doctor finished speaking, and before the girl could react, a finger had already probed into the girl’s private area. The motion was not exactly gentle, and the strong foreign sensation caused the girl considerable discomfort.

“Fortunately, the electric current didn’t damage the core—only superficial wounds. But full recovery will still take some time, as the skin in such a sensitive area is far too delicate.” With that, she rose and walked to the cabinet, opened it, and took out a small jar of ointment. She returned to the girl’s side, dipped her finger into the ointment, and applied it to the wound. The motion was not gentle, and the pain made the girl inhale sharply, tears welling up in her eyes.

“Your body is too weak; you need a nutrient injection.” The female doctor’s indifferent voice came from beside her once again.

Before Nie Zhenzhen could say anything, the female doctor had already deftly picked up a cotton swab, dipped it in disinfectant, and gently swabbed circles on the girl’s arm skin—her movements crisp and professional. She then tore open the syringe packaging, quickly drew the medication, expelled the air from the needle, and raised the syringe with a steady wrist. Her expression was focused yet cold, her fingertips decisive and clean, as she injected the full dose into the girl’s muscle, causing the girl to unconsciously furrow her brow in pain.

Soon, the internal examination was also complete. The female doctor casually tossed the white sheet back over the girl’s body. This trivial little gesture moved Nie Zhenzhen deeply for quite a while.

After the examination, the female doctor did not leave immediately. Instead, she took the diagnostic sheet from the nurse’s hands, quickly scanned it, then pulled a pen from her white coat pocket and carefully added a few words before handing the sheet back to the nurse. She then gave the nurse a cold instruction: “Compile this into a detailed data report as soon as possible and present it to Master Sang for review later.”

With that, she led the group out of the room. Only then did Nie Zhenzhen relax her guard slightly, letting out a soft sigh of relief, feeling as though she had once again managed to pass another hurdle.
