Not long after Li Yantang left, a series of urgent knocks sounded at the door.

Nie Zhenzhen assumed it was the maid coming to collect the dishes, so she called out toward the door, “It’s unlocked, come in.”

The door was pushed open instantly, and in walked Yan Mo.Full novel: The Cage: The Psycho Boss’s Plaything — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

He was wearing a casual light-yellow suit today, with a plain white short-sleeved shirt underneath.

He radiated vibrant energy and a carefree, devil-may-care charm.

“Little white rabbit, good morning.”

“How did you sleep last night?”

Yan Mo asked in a light, cheerful tone.

“I slept very comfortably, thank you for your concern, Mr. Yan.”

Nie Zhenzhen replied politely and with proper restraint.

“That’s good to hear. I brought you a few sets of everyday outfits.”

As he spoke, he directed the maid behind him, who methodically brought the packages inside.

“As for… the clothes in there…”

“I didn’t know your size, so I guessed and bought one set in small and one in medium—one of them is bound to fit you.”

Yan Mo propped his chin on one hand and gave Nie Zhenzhen an appraising once-over, his tone carrying a hint of playfulness.

“Thank you for your trouble, Mr. Yan.”

The girl lowered her head awkwardly.

As they spoke, the maid had already neatly put away the clothes one by one, working swiftly and efficiently, hanging them by category in the walk-in closet.

“Little white rabbit, I happen to be free today—how about I take you around the estate in a bit?”

Yan Mo invited the girl with an excited look on his face.

“But… but Mr. Li said I’m not allowed to leave the room…”

Nie Zhenzhen recalled Li Yantang’s instructions.

She really did want to go out and take a look, and maybe scout the terrain to prepare for a successful escape later.

But… deep down, she was afraid of that man and didn’t dare defy his orders.

“My brother came by?”

A layer of confusion settled over Yan Mo’s eyes.

The old ironwood tree actually didn’t kick her out—looks like it’s about to bloom.

A sly smile unconsciously curled at the corner of Yan Mo’s lips.

“It’s fine, we’ll just stroll around the estate. I’ll be with you—nothing will go wrong!”

Yan Mo said with absolute certainty. Seeing the eager anticipation in the girl’s eyes, he continued to persuade her,

“I’ll go talk to my brother about it. Go try on the clothes and see if they fit—I’ll wait for you in the hall outside.”

Nie Zhenzhen was thoroughly swayed.

A long-missed smile rippled across her pure, flawless face.

Her smile was innocent and sweet, warming people’s hearts and stirring an irresistible urge to protect her.

“Mhm mhm, I’ll go change first~”

The girl’s voice was crisp and sweet, just like a warbler singing in the woods.

Yan Mo couldn’t help but chuckle softly. This girl had a special kind of infectious charm.

No wonder his brother, that old ironwood tree, had also stumbled… over her.

Nie Zhenzhen walked slowly into the walk-in closet, pouting her cherry lips.

Her fingertips brushed back and forth across the rows of clothes.

Finally, they stopped on a white short-sleeved shirt printed with a SpongeBob pattern.

She paired it with a pair of loose, straight-leg light-blue jeans and slipped on a pair of black-and-white canvas shoes.

She had to admit, Mr. Yan really understood what girls her age needed and liked.

The clothes he bought were all her style—loose, comfortable fits.

Simple, neat, and elegant, with a touch of youthful radiance—exactly how a college girl would dress.

She turned to look at the underwear section and couldn’t help but blush slightly.

Even the underwear was youthful in style, adorned with little bows. The girl smiled with satisfaction.

She quickly dressed herself completely, then dashed into the bathroom and tied her black hair into a high ponytail with a hair tie.

Looking at herself in the mirror, it was as if she had returned to her college days. She broke into a genuine, natural smile.

Keep going, Nie Zhenzhen. You can do this—you’ll make it home alive!

The girl didn’t forget to give herself a pep talk in the mirror.

She took a long, deep breath and walked out of the room with light steps.

Crossing the long corridor, she went straight to the hall and greeted Yan Mo warmly,

“Mr. Yan, I’m all ready. Let’s go.”

Yan Mo was stunned by the girl before him.

Her clean, fair face, untouched by any makeup, was still breathtakingly beautiful.

Not the kind of dazzling beauty that seizes one’s soul, but a pure, ethereal beauty—like a celestial maiden descending to the mortal world, untouched by even a speck of dust.

Those bright, clear eyes shone like the brightest stars in the night sky.

Though her figure wasn’t voluptuous, she was still graceful and exquisitely proportioned.

She was like a flower bud yet to bloom, waiting for the sun and rain to nourish her.

“Mr. Yan… Mr. Yan…”

Seeing Yan Mo standing frozen in place, staring at her in a daze, Nie Zhenzhen stepped forward and tugged at the hem of his clothes, calling out to him softly.

Only then did Yan Mo snap back to reality, as if waking from a dream. “The clothes look great—they suit you well. Let’s go!”

With that, he led Nie Zhenzhen straight out of the main building.

Southeast Asia had beautiful weather every day. Feeling the blazing sun and the gentle breeze, the girl almost felt a fleeting illusion of freedom.

Soon, they arrived before a three-story white building.

“This is the leisure and entertainment area. It has three floors above ground.”

“The first floor is the library, the second floor is the gym and pool, and the third floor is the cinema and music hall.”

“Come on! Let me show you inside.”

Yan Mo spoke in a relaxed tone, introducing each area one by one.

Nie Zhenzhen followed him inside, and what greeted her eyes was an entire open floor of a library.

Dozens of rows of bookshelves were arranged in an orderly, staggered fashion, each labeled with categories.

The girl gave a brief scan—the shelves covered history, geography, biology, technology, economics, and various other fields, resembling a small library in its own right.

With a hint of curiosity and confusion, she asked Yan Mo,

“Mr. Yan, who usually comes here to read?”

“Most of the time, it’s just my brother. This building was mainly built for him alone.”

“He doesn’t like noise, so aside from him, no one else comes in without a special summons—except for the cleaning staff.”

Yan Mo explained unhurriedly.

“All these books, and he reads them alone?”

The girl pressed on persistently.

“My brother has loved reading since he was young—all kinds of genres.”

“As long as it’s a book, he never turns it down.”

“Except for dirty books, of course!”

Yan Mo looked at the girl with a teasing glint in his eyes, not forgetting to joke.

“Let me take you to the second floor!”

Yan Mo took the young girl’s hand and headed toward the staircase to the second floor.

Nie Zhenzhen frowned slightly, feeling a bit embarrassed, but she didn’t say anything, simply treating it as the kind of closeness an older brother might show a younger sister.

The second floor was laid out much like the first—an entire open expanse of flat space.

Except the floor was covered with a clean, slip-resistant mat.

Various exercise machines were neatly arranged across it—treadmills, ellipticals, power racks, dumbbells, and barbells, all lined up in sequence.

On the other side of the space, a large temperature-controlled pool was embedded into the floor.

The water was crystal clear and bright, with gentle ripples shimmering across its surface.

“Does Mr. Li come here to work out every day?”

The girl looked around, pouting slightly, full of curiosity.

“My brother has a fitness routine. He’s an incredibly disciplined person—without fail, he checks in here at 6 a.m. every morning.”

Yan Mo waved his hand at Nie Zhenzhen with a helpless expression.

“That’s really impressive. I could never get up that early…”

The girl muttered to herself.

“Now that you’re here, maybe… you can fix that habit of his.”

Yan Mo shot the girl a mischievous smile, his tone lazy and teasing.

His words made the girl’s face flush instantly, a wave of heat spreading from her cheeks all the way to the tips of her ears.

“Come on, let’s check out the third floor.”

Seeing the girl’s face burning red, Yan Mo couldn’t bear to keep teasing her, so he wisely changed the subject.

Unlike the bright and open lower floors, the third floor was dimmer and more serene.

The entire floor was divided into two rooms—one was a private cinema, and the other was a small music hall.

The private cinema was decorated in a style that was understatedly luxurious and full of atmosphere.

The surrounding walls were fitted with professional soundproofing and acoustic treatment.

Dark matte textures, paired with soft recessed LED strips, cast a hazy, lingering play of light and shadow.

A massive floor-to-ceiling high-definition screen occupied the entire wall.

In front of it sat several wide, plush leather electric sofas, soft and thick.

Spaced generously apart in every direction, they allowed for both sitting and reclining during a viewing.

The floor was covered with a thick, dark carpet that absorbed all sound underfoot.

The space was spacious and quiet, sealed off from the clamor of the outside world, allowing for a fully immersive viewing experience.

The music hall was comparatively simpler—similar to a spacious study, except it housed a variety of musical instruments.

That man’s life really was healthy and fulfilling.

Reading, fitness, music—every aspect exuded taste.

He probably wasn’t a pervert, and certainly not a madman…

Thinking this, Nie Zhenzhen couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief.

It seemed that being brought here by sheer accident wasn’t such a bad situation after all.

For a moment, a flicker of relief welled up in her heart.

“Come on! Let me show you the other places.”

Yan Mo said to the girl in a lighthearted tone.

And so, the two walked out of the leisure and entertainment area side by side.
