Yuan Tao’s mouth fell open in surprise. There was even more gossip she hadn’t known about!

She might be a nobody herself, but she had the Zhou family behind her. No wonder Zhang Lina had set her sights on her. Through Yuan Tao, she could gain the Zhou family’s backing.

With that juicy piece of gossip restoring her appetite, Yuan Tao finished breakfast, changed into casual trousers and a purple butterfly top, then put on a baseball cap and went out with Zhou Yunxi.

It was early November. In previous years, the temperature in the capital would have dropped to around ten degrees Celsius by now, but this year, for some reason, it was still twenty-five or twenty-six. Yuan Tao wondered whether these were already the first signs of the apocalypse.

Zhou Yunxi took her to the warehouse and waited for her to store everything before locking up.

On the way back, she asked curiously, “Yunxi-ge, why did we collect the supplies so early today?”

Lately, he had always driven her over at night.

“We’re going to Country M tomorrow,” he said quietly as he drove.

Firearms were strictly controlled at home, so he could only purchase them overseas. He had already ordered a shipment through a reliable arms dealer. Now he needed to inspect the goods and pay the remaining balance.

Yuan Tao didn’t ask what he was going abroad for. Early the next morning, she boarded a flight to Country M with him.

For several days after they arrived, Zhou Yunxi left early and returned late, so busy that she hardly saw him. Left alone in the hotel, Yuan Tao passed the time scrolling through videos.

If they were back home, she could happily go shopping and keep filling her space.

But public safety was poor here, and Zhou Yunxi wouldn’t let her go out alone. All she could do was stare at the ceiling in boredom.

When he returned that evening, he took her to the mall.

He bought her many sets of high-end skincare products, then they visited an outdoor equipment store and bought tents, climbing ropes, goggles, and other supplies. Outdoor adventures were popular abroad, so even their purchase of dozens of sets didn’t draw much surprise.

Afterward, Zhou Yunxi took her back to the hotel and told her to pack. They would be returning home the next day.

Yuan Tao knew it was her turn to help.

At three in the morning, she put on a wig and used makeup to disguise herself as a young white man with blond hair and blue eyes. With height-increasing insoles in her shoes and a black hoodie over her clothes, she looked like an unremarkable young man, short and slightly built.

Zhou Yunxi had changed his appearance too, becoming a fierce-looking middle-aged man with a full beard and a scar across his face.

He drove her to an abandoned factory complex. After winding their way through it for over an hour, they finally met their contact.

The contact led them through more turns until they reached a concealed basement entrance.

He indicated that everything Zhou Yunxi had ordered was down below.

Zhou Yunxi had him wait outside and took Yuan Tao into the basement.

Rows of unmarked wooden crates stood neatly arranged inside. Zhou Yunxi opened one, took out several guns, and tested them. There were no problems with the quality.

He positioned himself in front of the basement exit, checked that the person outside wasn’t looking in, and signaled to Yuan Tao.

She didn’t hold him up. Almost instantly, the weapons filling the basement vanished into her space.

The two of them walked out looking satisfied, as though they had just finished inspecting the shipment. Their contact approached to say something, but Zhou Yunxi caught him off guard and swiftly knocked him unconscious. Then he led Yuan Tao away in the opposite direction from the one they had come.

He had already familiarized himself with the layout. They easily found their way out of the abandoned factory complex and reached the car he had hidden beforehand. He floored the accelerator and sped toward the airport.

With an arms deal this large, he had been wary of being double-crossed and had prepared for every possibility. Fortunately, the supplier his acquaintance had recommended was relatively trustworthy. Otherwise, getting Yuan Tao out of there would have taken more effort.

Yuan Tao’s adrenaline surged, her heart pounding wildly.

Zhou Yunxi had bought tickets for a flight home departing in an hour, but they had already boarded a flight to Country D half an hour earlier.

Country D was a major energy producer. Zhou Yunxi took Yuan Tao to collect large quantities of energy supplies. One supplier tried to double-cross them, but they caught on and turned the tables, taking even more of his supplies instead.

Next, they went to Country E, which was close to the Arctic and cold throughout the year. Its clothing and bedding were therefore warmer than those sold in Huaguo.

They bought five thousand of each item, including snow boots, wool sweaters, and sheepskin coats.

Then Yuan Tao remembered the ocean beyond the mountains in her space, so she and Zhou Yunxi took a yacht out to sea.

She collected plenty of seawater and marine life, putting them into the space to raise and eat later.

They visited several more countries to stock up. More than half a month passed, and the apocalypse was drawing near, yet Zhou Yunxi still showed no intention of visiting Country R. Yuan Tao grew anxious.

That won’t do! I still have trouble to cause!

Ever since learning that Zhou Yunxi would be taking her abroad to stockpile supplies, she had been secretly planning to stir up trouble in Country R. Just before transmigrating, she had watched a film depicting the Japanese invaders burning, killing, looting, and brutalizing countless people from Huaguo. The sight of her compatriots lying in pools of blood had weighed heavily on her heart.

This world was parallel to her original one, and Country R had committed the same inhuman atrocities against Huaguo. Now that she had the means, she wasn’t about to pass up the chance to cause some trouble.

So she set about persuading Zhou Yunxi.

“Yunxi-ge, let’s go to Country R.” Having just stored the last fruit tree sapling in the warehouse, Yuan Tao turned to him where he stood guard at the entrance.

He turned to look at her, his gaze deep and unreadable, as though he could see straight through her.

“What are you planning?”

Seeing that he had caught on, Yuan Tao didn’t bother hiding it. She leaned toward his ear and excitedly explained her plan.

Looking at her shining eyes, Zhou Yunxi nodded, the corners of his mouth lifting almost imperceptibly.

That night, they flew to Country R and booked a guesthouse. They stayed inside during the day, resting and conserving their energy.

At three in the morning, they put on the same disguises they had used to collect the weapons and slipped out.

After sneaking up to that damned shrine, they split the work between them. Zhou Yunxi kept watch while Yuan Tao buried bombs with timed fuses every few hundred meters.

Then they drove toward the airport. They had booked a six o’clock flight home.

As they passed the port, Yuan Tao impulsively swept dozens of shipping containers into her space. Seeing the containers vanish without warning, the port patrol staff cried out and ran to find their supervisor.

By the time they checked the security footage and identified the culprits as two men from Country M, Yuan Tao and Zhou Yunxi had already removed their disguises and reached the airport.

Their plane took off. Before it had even left Country R’s airspace, a tremendous explosion sounded from the ground.

Satisfied, Yuan Tao closed her eyes and rested her head against the seat, her lips curling into a sly smile.
