A loud, piercing shout tore through the suburban night, startling everyone present and brutally assaulting the eardrums of every viewer in the livestream.

Quite a few people who had the stream playing out loud went pale and scrambled for the volume button, not daring to look at the expressions of their parents, friends, or coworkers nearby. Some even accidentally had their water cups or instant noodles knocked over in the chaos.

【Aren’t all these guests enough for you to torment? What did the audience ever do to deserve this?】

The richness of language was on full display. On the hillside, Lin Rongrong and Lu Jinming, who were standing in the cold wind, turned their heads in unison.

Shen Jin, who had been forced into an awkward faceplant, spat out a mouthful of grass as he sat up to defend himself: “The suitcase was so heavy, it’s normal not to be able to lift it…”

Before he could even finish, he saw the slender Yin Shuwei carrying two large suitcases, one in each hand, sprinting up to the RV with ease, as if they were nothing more than two small chickens.

After putting the suitcases away, Yin Shuwei turned around, crossed her arms, and locked eyes with Shen Jin below.

Shen Jin felt utterly humiliated!

“If you suck, train more,” Yin Shuwei said matter-of-factly.

【Emmm… I don’t know about the rest, but Qiangzi really does need more exercise.】

【Little Blackie, your true colors are showing.】

【Dang, Yin Shuwei is kinda cool.】

【Even if he couldn’t help, did she really have to say it like that? And she even shoved him aside—Yin Shuwei was really impolite】

【What did our Weiwei even say? And since when were they close? Shen Jin’s the weird one here—being overly friendly for no reason—there’s no such thing as free lunch in the world.】

The guests gradually made their way over to stow their luggage. Shen Jin’s earlier mishap was his first real slip-up, but later he helped Yao Yueying with her bags, so he didn’t leave too terrible an impression.

His fans kept emphasizing that Yu Xingzhi’s suitcase was just too heavy, and that Shen Jin was, at heart, a very kind and helpful person.

What no one expected was that when Lin Rongrong and the others finally arrived at a snail’s pace, the only one carrying luggage was Lin Rongrong herself.

Lu Jinming stood to the side, dressed in an expensive tailored suit. With his broad shoulders, narrow waist, and long legs, he looked stunningly handsome. Yet, he remained unmoved, as if everything happening had nothing to do with him.

Unable to stand by any longer, Yin Shuwei stepped in to help, effortlessly lifting Lin Rongrong’s cumbersome suitcases one by one.

Lin Rongrong, her head lowered, suddenly felt the weight in her hands lighten. When she looked up, she saw Yin Shuwei’s expressionless yet determined face, as if she approached everything with seriousness and did everything well.

In a daze, Lin Rongrong suddenly remembered her former self—the one who had worked tirelessly to secure a postgraduate spot, single-mindedly striving to climb higher.

“Thank you,” Lin Rongrong said sincerely.

“No need to be polite. I’ll put them here for you,” Yin Shuwei replied without another word. After placing the luggage, she returned to sit next to Yu Xingzhi.

As luck would have it, Shen Jin and Yao Yueying were seated directly across from her.

Just looking at Shen Jin’s lifeless expression was annoying.

Yin Shuwei didn’t bother hiding her disdain and rolled her eyes openly. She then turned her gaze to Yao Yueying, who had seemed perfectly normal from start to finish. Honestly, she had no impression of Shen Jin’s wife, who seemed more like a background prop.

It felt as if this woman existed solely to meet the censorship requirements.

In the original plot, not long after Yin Shuwei’s death, Shen Jin also got divorced. After that, this character never appeared again. However, as the male lead, Shen Jin had no shortage of admirers, though the author didn’t delve into it much.

From the sparse lines, Yin Shuwei could only tell that those admirers were extremely fanatical—and deeply hostile toward Yu Xingzhi. Hostile to the point where Yu Xingzhi might get hit by falling objects just walking down the street. Completely lawless, the lot of them.

“What kind of work do you do, Ms. Yao?” Yin Shuwei inquired, genuinely curious.

Before coming, she’d looked things up online. Shen Jin and Yao Yueying never had a wedding, nor any wedding banquet. One day, when someone casually asked, Shen Jin simply stated that he was already married.

After that, talk of “Shen Jin doting on his wife” spread frequently. Some said they were classmates; others claimed it was love at first sight at some event.

Yao Yueying raised an eyebrow. Yin Shuwei’s way of addressing her felt quite subtle. She smiled faintly and said, “I used to, but not anymore.”

“The whole internet knows he loves you. Aren’t you satisfied?” Yin Shuwei spoke as if she never knew how to beat around the bush.

Yao Yueying was a little surprised by Yin Shuwei’s bluntness. Her gentle, intelligent eyes swept casually over Yu Xingzhi and Yin Shuwei. “That depends on how President Shen performs. Perhaps I’ll change my mind.”

Just then, Shen Jin—who had been through all kinds of torment today—handed Yao Yueying a cup of water. “You haven’t drunk much water today.”

“It’s too cold. I’m not drinking it.” Yao Yueying touched it briefly and pulled her hand back.

Shen Jin went to add some hot water. Yao Yueying only brushed the cup with her finger. “It’s so hot. Can’t you feel the temperature?”

Her words were gentle yet laced with sharp, subtle barbs.

Shen Jin didn’t say much more and adjusted the water again. After fussing back and forth four or five times, Yao Yueying finally deigned to take a small sip.

Yin Shuwei hadn’t expected their dynamic to be like this. Doting on his wife? Somehow, it all felt… off.

【Another bitch!!! Damn it, just get divorced already! Let President Shen live!】

【She doesn’t treat Shen Jin like her husband at all—calling him “President Shen” every other sentence. Even Yin Shuwei and Yu Xingzhi’s whirlwind marriage for seems more intimate than them!】

【Don’t compare them to that pair of lunatics, okay? Yao Yueying is just being difficult, plain and simple. Who knows what insane luck she had to marry Shen Jin. She’s just as ungrateful as Lin Rongrong. If they ever divorce and she ends up begging on the streets, she’ll know regret.】

【Hah, another day of fighting the world. Why can’t I have such a carefree life?】

【What’s with Yin Shuwei stirring trouble? First, she clung to Shen Jin online for clout, then acted all annoyed with him on the show to steal the spotlight, and now she’s striking up a conversation with Yao Yueyang. What’s she trying to say? Seems like she hopes they divorce so she can marry Shen Jin after her own divorce.】

【Are Yu Xingzhi’s fans all dead?! Are you all okay with your idol’s wife being such a weirdo?!】

【Thanks for the invitation, let’s wait and see…】

After their initial outburst at the start of the show, Yu Xingzhi’s fans quieted down a lot. After all, Yu Xingzhi is undeniably the most handsome in the industry, but he doesn’t rely on his looks—his talent speaks for itself.

When he’s not working, he rarely engages with fans. The relationship between him and his fans is purely transactional, with little emotional connection.

After calmly researching Yin Shuwei’s past, fans concluded that aside from her love for flaunting wealth, she didn’t have any major flaws.

They also looked into the so-called infidelity scandal and found it quite suspicious. From a logical standpoint, such a fierce woman didn’t seem like she was sneaking around for an affair—more like she was hunting down a criminal.

That’s why there were genuinely very few of Yu Xingzhi’s fans attacking Yin Shuwei.

Inside the RV, aside from Yin Shuwei’s earlier conversation with Yao Yueying, no one else spoke. The mood seemed rather low.

Lin Rongrong, on the other hand, had been crying earlier but busied herself adjusting seats, tidying up the pillows, pouring water, making tea. She kept circling around Lu Jinming, bustling about for quite a while before finally taking a break.

When they arrived at their destination, Director Zhen greeted everyone with a smile.

“Before we check in, we’ll need to inspect for any prohibited items. Please cooperate with our staff and open your suitcases.”
