No one could believe what they had just heard.

Yin Shuwei said as if nothing had happened, “Then I guess we’re even.”

“Not quite yet,” Yu Xingzhi took a sudden turn. “You also broke the lock on the main door. That was my pre-marital property.”Full novel: The Cannon Fodder Female Supporting Character Of An Unhinged Novel Tore the Script Apart — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Yin Shuwei couldn’t believe it. “You’re not seriously going to make me pay for it, are you?!”

After a moment of thoughtful silence, Yu Xingzhi replied seriously, “Forget it. Go home however you like—but the floor’s too high, so don’t go rock climbing.”

Yin Shuwei: “???”

【Damn, did I just get force-fed a mouthful of dog food?】

【F*ck, how can this crazy bitch also find love? I’m gonna puke. Does Yu Xingzhi have a bad taste or something?】

【Wait—why was she picking a lock?】

【How can a gold-digging, morally corrupt show-off like her have fans?】

【What, do y’all not like money?】

Well, a random internet stranger just ended the debate.

As for the person Yin Shuwei “stabbed,” although the video uploaded that day was quickly reported and taken down, many netizens had already recorded it or took screenshots.

Anyone with half a brain could figure out what really happened.

【So let me get this straight: after Yin Shuwei got scammed, she got drunk and was dragged away by someone, then she managed to turn the tables on three burly men, ran over ten miles overnight, climbed over walls, picked a lock, and then made it home?】

【I really dislike Yin Shuwei as a person—she seems like a total clown—but I seriously can’t bring myself to roast her over this. She looks so delicate and weak, yet she’s actually this badass?】

【Women really should build some strength. Don’t buy into that whole “pale, young, thin” beauty standard online—it might save your life in a critical moment. At least you could run like Yin Shuwei did.】

【That’s way too extreme, though. Probably not doable for most people.】

【Hold on—did none of you hear Actor Yu say he grabbed an axe? An AXE!!! If it wasn’t for burglars, who was he planning to chop?!】

【These two lunatics are truly a match made in heaven. Lock them up together forever.】

Thanks to Yin Shuwei and Yu Xingzhi’s forceful self-exposures, the other guests’ statements seemed incredibly pale in comparison.

Shen Jin insisted he had never lied.

Lu Jinming admitted that he had told Lin Rongrong he thought the stretch marks on her stomach were like medals of honor, but in reality, they made him quite uncomfortable.

“But it was a white lie. I was afraid she’d overthink it,” Lu Jinming said.

At that, Lin Rongrong really did start crying. It took her a while to compose herself before she choked out, “The biggest lie I ever told… was when I said ‘I do.’”

Lu Jinming’s face turned ashen.

As dusk fell, the distant rolling hills swallowed the last trace of daylight. Lin Rongrong and Lu Jinming stood together, but the distance between them was vast. No light touched their figures, and neither made a move to close the gap.

Yin Shuwei found it hard to describe her feelings: “Now that looks like a real married couple.”

She and Yu Xingzhi were just partners—their marriage wasn’t originally meant for a happy life anyway.

The Yin family probably saw right through the fact that apart from Yu Xingzhi, the Yu family couldn’t scrape together a single complete brain cell. They bypassed Yu Xingzhi to negotiate the marriage, sweet-talking Yu’s parents until they were utterly convinced, determined to make this marriage happen.

Yu Xingzhi originally disagreed, but they kept telling him he was getting older and should marry—that once married, things would settle into place, and he’d have a companion for the future.

After several rejections, Yu’s mother suddenly got up from the dining table, rushed to the window, and threw one leg over the ledge. Clinging to the frame, she screamed hysterically, “If you don’t get married today, I’ll jump right here and now! From then on our mother–son bond is over—we’ll have nothing to do with each other! Live however you want!”

Some people just never understand that a child is not an extension of their own life, but an independent individual.

Yin Shuwei sighed and prepared to move their luggage with Yu Xingzhi, switching to the production team’s car to head to tonight’s accommodation.

As they walked side by side, Yu Xingzhi suddenly said in a low voice, “They met by chance… and then she ran away while pregnant.”

Lin Rongrong was once a rising star in the field of fashion design, her works frequently featured in international runway shows and praised by veterans. But she never expected that after an unplanned pregnancy, her genius child would somehow teach himself hacking to find his father.

That was how Lin Rongrong was eventually discovered by Lu Jinming. Their relationship spiraled into endless love-hate entanglements. Lin Rongrong, of course, had no intention of giving up her rapidly flourishing career. She was fully capable of raising the child on her own, so she’d never planned on seeking out the father in the first place.

The Lu family was powerful and wealthy. They wanted the child but not the mother. The mother-in-law, sister-in-law, fiancée, white-moonlight first love—one after another took turns making her life miserable. Lin Rongrong, who had never wanted to marry to begin with, was pushed to the brink, and her career suffered badly as a result.

But her son refused to let it go. He insisted on finding his father to “avenge” his mother, and after locating Lu Jinming, he would constantly ask Lin Rongrong why other kids had fathers but he couldn’t have one.

“…After struggling again and again, Lin Rongrong compromised for her child’s sake, and that’s how they ended up where they are now,” Yu Xingzhi summarized succinctly.

“Wow. Isn’t this just like What happens after the male and female leads of a romance novel get married?” Yin Shuwei distilled it down to the key phrase. “How do you even know all this?”

Yu Xingzhi’s expression remained completely flat. “The wedding was a huge scandal, causing a huge uproar in the city—everyone was talking about it. There were rumours about rare blood type, kidney transplant, cornea transplant… A ‘wedding of the century’ broadcast live worldwide. The fireworks that night practically lit up Haicheng’s entire skyline.”

When something that gets repeated so many times, it was hard for Yu Xingzhi not to remember.

But there was no need to say any of that out loud.

Yin Shuwei completely missed the dark glint in Yu Xingzhi’s eyes, only thinking to herself—true to a deranged novel—even the side characters were this… unhinged.

In the past, when she read novels, she’d stay up all night chasing hundreds or even thousands of chapters. The female lead could even be tormented to death and revived—no big deal, because the second male lead was the King of Hell. Absolutely overpowered.

But once those earth-shaking romances drew the curtain, it seemed the ending was still inevitably a mess of chicken feathers all over the floor.

【What are those two muttering about? Why does Yin Shuwei look both excited and melancholic?】

【Isn’t it bad to gossip behind others’ backs like that?】

【What, you’ve never trash-talked your boss or colleagues as idiots behind their backs with your partner? Don’t act all high and mighty, it’s disgusting.】

【Hahaha, my chat history with my best friend is unspeakable. I’ll have to format my phone before I die.】

【President Shen and the others are walking over—have to say, he really has composure. Even after being insulted and publicly roasted by Yin Shuwei, he just smiles it off. His mental fortitude is insane. Another day of learning from President Shen!】

Yin Shuwei handed the light blue oversized suitcase to Yu Xingzhi and took the dusky pink one herself. She dawdled a bit before moving them, and sure enough, Shen Jin came sniffing around.

He would never miss a chance to show off in front of Yu Xingzhi.

“Let me help you with that, Xiao Yu. That suitcase is way too big,” Shen Jin offered kindly.

Yu Xingzhi was about to refuse, but when he caught sight of the barely suppressed mischief on Yin Shuwei’s face and recalled certain memories, he suddenly let go.

“Then I’ll trouble you, President Shen.”

Shen Jin didn’t think much of it. He grabbed the suitcase with one hand, planning to lift it in one smooth motion and place it where it needed to go.

But—

The suitcase didn’t budge.

Shen Jin tried again, his face turning red from the strain. The suitcase shifted only the tiniest bit.

Yin Shuwei, dragging the other suitcase, rammed straight into Shen Jin and sent him stumbling, shouting loudly,

“Can you lift it or not? Shen Jin, if you can’t get it up, then don’t block the way!”
