If he had known that the other person was just a Noble.

Keo looked down and glanced at Eugene.

Even he had to admit that Eugene looked exceptionally striking.Full novel: The Cannon Fodder Gong Seduced the Villain [Quick Transmigration] — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Back on the other’s spaceship, even from far away, he had spotted him at a glance.

That was the first time he had ever lost his focus for even a split second during combat.

Thinking of this, Keo knitted his brows tightly.

Such a thing had never happened before, nor should it ever happen.

At that moment, Joe was holding Eugene’s face and sighing, almost as if inspecting whether an antique had been cracked. Tsk tsk, this face, make sure you do not let it scar.

Keo immediately averted his gaze from Eugene’s face and never let it fall back there again. His entire demeanor was as cold as if encased in a layer of armor, airtight and impenetrable.

That is enough. At least he is not dead.

The important thing is, who let him out?

When Eugene woke up again, he found himself back in the medical room, except this time he was lying on the floor.

A circle of people was already kneeling around him. The air pressure in the room was extremely low, and no one dared to look at him again.

Tell me. Admiral Keo’s icy voice came from above.

Whose responsibility was it that he ran out?

The baby-faced soldier from earlier turned pale as paper, looking as though he were about to cry, and dropped to his knees without a word. It was my fault, Admiral. I should have asked for your permission first before sending him to the medical room.

The previous caretaker rushed to apologize as well. No, I am sorry, Admiral. I did not watch the monitor properly. I truly did not expect that he would attack the other caretaker.

Everyone scrambled to apologize, readily accepting their punishment. Please punish us, Admiral.

Only Joe rubbed his nose, crossed his arms, and stood off to the side with an air of detachment.

Eugene’s head was still throbbing with pain, but listening to their conversation made cold sweat bead on his forehead. It felt as though the Grim Reaper’s scythe was already resting against his neck.

This was because he now knew that the man before him was the legendary Admiral Keo. In the plot of the story, he was the one who would kill him with his own hands.

The man was very tall, with a deeper skin tone, a high nose bridge, and a sharp jawline.

His thick, sword-like eyebrows and deep-set facial features gave his appearance an aggressive handsomeness. Combined with his broad shoulders, narrow waist, and athletic physique wrapped in a black military uniform, he appeared unexpectedly young while possessing an unignorable presence.

Eugene was observing in secret when he accidentally locked eyes with Keo.

Compared to Eugene, Keo’s eyes were a much richer shade of gold, almost like flowing liquid gold.

Yet, despite possessing such a warm eye color, his expression at that moment was utterly chilling.

After meeting Eugene’s gaze, he first looked away, and when he turned back, his gaze was even colder than that of a high-ranking assassin looking down at an insignificant prey.

Your Highness.

The moment Keo spoke, Eugene flinched.

Keo bent down, closing in on him further. Although he used an honorific, there was not a single ripple of emotion in the depths of his eyes.

I am sparing your life because someone at the Hashu headquarters still wants to negotiate with the Bazz.

But you may not know this: personally, I am a hardliner.

The eyelashes stained with reddish blood fluttered once more as Eugene looked up at him.

Keo met his gaze calmly, his flat tone growing increasingly chilling.

Therefore, if you run around again, next time, I cannot guarantee that my hand will not slip and kill you.

If you still wish to leave this place alive, I advise you to be obedient from now on. Do you understand?

Keo looked down from on high at the silver-haired Noble, waiting for his reaction.

He anticipated that the other might fly into a rage with curses, or simply tremble in fright. After all, most Nobles were such incompetent fools.

How could he have ever expected that Eugene would look at him with a blank expression, his tone and demeanor resembling that of an innocent child.

It hurts so much.

Who are you?

Keo was momentarily stunned, but Joe beside him suddenly burst into laughter.

Hahahaha, well this is great. When negotiating, you can just tell them that you kicked their Prince into an idiot.

Tsk tsk tsk, this war is definitely going to happen now.

Keo raised an eyebrow, scrutinizing Eugene. Impossible.

At that moment, Eugene’s forehead was covered in blood, and his blood-stained eyelashes blinked as a single tear quickly welled up and fell.

What happened? I feel so awful.

As soon as he finished speaking, he began to retch again.

Seeing him like this, Keo had no choice but to let go and take a step back.

What is impossible about it? You gave the man a concussion twice!

Vomiting was a symptom of a concussion. With that, Joe stepped forward to check Eugene’s head with a medical instrument.

Eugene’s pretty silver hair hung down across his forehead, smeared with blood. When Joe touched his head, he hissed in pain.

He looked up at Joe with a puzzled expression and tried to push him away.

Who are you?

Joe blinked at him. I am your husband.

Keo frowned. Joe!

Joe let out a loud laugh, but still placed the diagnostic instrument over Eugene’s head.

What? Look at how badly you scared the patient; Nobles are very fragile creatures.

Keo remained noncommittal. He watched as Joe pressed down on the Noble to examine him, then swept his gaze over the expressions of the surrounding female soldiers.

Seeing that everyone was instinctively showing concern for this Noble’s safety, with worried or distressed expressions on their faces, Keo’s expression grew even darker.

Joe said, Just leave this Noble with me. Brain injuries are unpredictable, but based on what I see, he is not going to recover anytime soon.

Keo shook his head. No.

In less than a day, this Noble had won over the hearts of so many people and had even nearly escaped; he was simply full of tricks. Even the sneak attack earlier could not be underestimated.

He could not feel at ease leaving him in anyone else’s custody.

While Joe was holding his head down, Eugene remained silent. However, he did not expect Keo to stride directly toward him and grab his wrist.

You are coming with me.

Eugene was momentarily dazed by those words.

Keo’s palm had a layer of light calluses, giving it a somewhat rough texture. Right now, it tightly gripped his wrist, forming a stark contrast with his own skin tone.

Eugene glanced down in distraction, and when he looked back up, he found that Keo’s golden pupils had closed in on him once again.

Listen to me, I do not know what your purpose is in playing dumb, but I will watch you myself. You had better.

Before he could finish his sentence, thinking that Eugene was trying to pull back, he gave his arm a firm tug. To his surprise, Eugene instead leaned directly toward him.

The silver-haired Noble still bore injuries on his forehead, but his expression was innocent and pure. His pale golden eyes gleamed under the light as he stared straight at him, so close that the tips of their noses were almost touching.

As soon as he opened his mouth, he asked, Husband?

Keo froze for a fraction of a second, then shoved him away with a heavy frown.

What nonsense are you talking about!

Eugene was pushed backward, only to be caught by Joe who was standing behind him.

Joe asked, What did he say?

Keo did not answer, but his chest rose and fell with his breath, a trace of visible anger lingering on his face.

He swept his gaze across the room, bypassing all the female soldiers, and finally pointed at the male nurse who had been knocked unconscious earlier, saying:

You! Tie him up and lock him in my quarters.

That male soldier had been cowering in the furthest corner away from Admiral Keo from the very beginning, not daring to get close at all. Now, startled by the command, his entire body shuddered.

Admiral Keo’s aversion to Nobles was notoriously widespread. Not daring to disobey Keo’s order in the slightest, he hurriedly and frantically searched for ropes.

Joe said, Hey, you at least need to let me bandage him first?

In the end, Eugene was indeed brought back to Keo’s private suite.

This was a very modern suite where all the furnishings could be moved freely, and the lighting and walls could be adjusted independently.

However, Keo had left it almost entirely in its original state, making this entire suite appear empty and minimalist.

He carved out a small room for Eugene in the living area and turned the walls transparent, placing a few bottles of water and nutrient fluid inside. This transformed the space into a new cage resembling a glass cell.

Touching the newly wrapped gauze on his head, Eugene huddled inside the room. Several tufts of his silver hair stuck up slightly, making him look almost like a caged white cat.

Raising his head, he could see the villain who had locked him in standing out in the living room.

Keo had one hand tucked into his trouser pocket, his tall frame leaning casually against the desk. Having removed his military jacket, his form-fitting clothes highlighted the contours of his shoulders and arms, as well as the latent explosive power contained within them.

Looking completely devoid of guilt, he was already attending to official business on his own, accompanied by another female aide.

That was a younger man wearing glasses, slightly shorter than Keo, wearing his uniform in a rigidly proper manner.

He had originally been looking at Keo with complete focus and dedication, but upon catching sight of Eugene inside the room, he visibly froze.

Admiral?

Keo did not even raise his head. He is a Bazz prisoner.

Hearing this, the aide looked at Eugene once more, seemingly trying to understand why the Admiral had locked him up here. Then, he accidentally locked eyes with Eugene’s full face.

His eyes widened slightly, and his usual deadpan expression broke, betraying clear astonishment.

Who knows what magical property Eugene’s face possessed that could make people automatically overlook the sloppily wrapped gauze on his head, turn ordinary lighting into a serene and soft glow, and even make the crude surrounding furniture look minimalist and high-end. It gave people the stark impression that they had somehow wandered into an oil painting.

There could actually be such a person in this world.

Ross.

Ross.

Ah! It took Ross a long time to shift his attention back to the Admiral. Present. What did you just say?

Keo looked at him for a moment, appearing somewhat displeased, and then massaged the bridge of his nose.

Remember to stay away from him. Do not interact with him.

Who?

Ah… Ross hurriedly bowed and said, Understood.

And do not keep looking over in his direction.

A flash of shame crossed Ross’s face, and his toes curled up in secret embarrassment. I am sorry, Admiral. I was just thinking about something else earlier, I was not looking at the Noble.

Keo remained noncommittal. Joe let out a scoff, causing the back of Ross’s neck to turn red.

The soundproofing inside this room was exceptional. Eugene could not hear a single word of what they were saying from inside; he only knew that they seemed to be discussing official matters, and shortly after, Joe left with them.

Eugene deliberately stood up, pressing against the transparent wall, and followed Keo for a few steps until he reached the edge of the room.

Look, that Noble has been watching you the whole time.

Joe twitched the corner of his mouth, grabbed Keo’s arm, and exaggeratedly said, You gave him a kick, could he have fallen for you?

Keo’s brow furrowed as he gave Joe a warning look.

What? The man has been kicked half-idiot by you; if you do not plan to take responsibility, you can always give him to me.

Joe. Seeing that Keo’s face was genuinely darkening, Joe hurriedly waved his hands and made a zipping motion across his lips, shutting himself up. He did not dare to truly anger Keo.

Keo turned and walked away, never looking at Eugene again.

When the door closed, Eugene continued watching Keo until they left, then immediately let out a breath and relaxed his posture. He covered his eyes in exhaustion, leaving nothing in the depths of his gaze but the relief of having narrowly escaped death.
