The little turtle stared expectantly at the tightly shut door.

“We’ll know if someone comes to open it.”

The little turtle thought seriously for a moment.

“Luoluo, this space belongs to you now, right? So maybe this house belongs to you too. That’s why nobody’s inside.”

“Mine?” Luoluo’s eyes widened in disbelief.

“Yes, yes, yes.”

The little turtle had already figured it out.

“This used to belong to the pearl, and now the pearl belongs to you, so of course everything here is yours too. There wouldn’t be anyone else living here.”

So the little girl and the turtle pushed open the door together.

The moment they stepped inside, they both gasped in amazement.

“Woooow—!”

Everything inside the little wooden house looked incredibly impressive.

There were so many things Luoluo and the turtle had never seen before.

The cabin had three bedrooms, two living rooms, a kitchen, and three bathrooms. Wooden flooring covered the entire house, and soft white gauze curtains made everything feel warm and cozy.

The living room had a fluffy sofa and a beautiful carpet. Across from the sofa was a huge television playing a cartoon of The Tortoise and the Hare.

The kitchen was fully equipped with advanced cooking appliances and a giant refrigerator divided into sections for meat, vegetables, fruits, and drinks.

Of the three rooms, one was a bedroom with its own bathroom and a walk-in closet filled with all kinds of clothes for men, women, children, and elders.

Another room was a study, with all four walls packed full of books.

The last room was a storage room filled with medicine and daily necessities.

Everywhere they went inside the cabin, Luoluo and the turtle couldn’t stop gasping in amazement.

Even though they didn’t recognize many of the objects, it didn’t stop them from feeling how incredible everything was.

Looking at all these advanced items—many of which clearly didn’t belong to this world—the turtle sternly reminded her again,

“Luoluo, in the future, we should avoid taking these things outside whenever possible. And if we absolutely must bring something out, we have to make sure nobody discovers it came from the space.”

Luoluo nodded obediently.

“Luoluo knows. It’ll be dangerous.”

There was no night inside the space, and the little girl and turtle played happily for what felt like forever, completely losing track of time.

Meanwhile, outside the space, at the He family home—

Old Master He and his two sons had just returned from outside.

Seeing the entire house dark and empty, not a single person in sight—

“What is Sheng Manzhu doing? It’s already this late and she didn’t even turn on the lights.”

Eldest Uncle He Guangyao grumbled as he switched on the lights.

Second Uncle He Guanghao agreed while heading upstairs.

“She’s about to marry into the Lin family. You still expect her to help Third Brother watch over this house?”

“Enough, enough.”

Old Master He sat impatiently on the sofa.

“By tomorrow, neither that mother nor daughter will belong to the He family anymore. Why bother caring so much about them?”

He Guangyao had just brought the old man a cup of water from the kitchen and hadn’t even sat down yet when He Guanghao’s voice came from upstairs.

“Dad! Big Brother! Sheng Manzhu and that little jinx are gone! All their things have been moved out too!”

Hearing that the little jinx was gone as well, Old Master He secretly let out a sigh of relief.

He had genuinely feared Sheng Manzhu might harden her heart and leave the child behind, forcing him to deal with her himself.

Even though that little jinx carried Guangyuan’s bloodline…

The moment he thought of how she had been born at the exact same time he received news that his beloved youngest son’s car had plunged off a cliff—and that his body had never been found—

He simply could not accept the child’s existence.

His youngest son, He Guangyuan, had been such a brilliant and extraordinary man.

If Guangyuan were still alive, the He family would never have fallen into such dire straits.

Thinking of his youngest son once again filled Old Master He with grief.

“Dad.”

Seeing his expression, He Guangyao knew the old man had begun mourning Third Brother again and quickly interrupted.

“We need to inventory the family valuables. We can’t let Sheng Manzhu take away any of the He family’s property.”

After the recent troubles, Old Master He had firmly believed in not putting all the eggs in one basket.

He had already arranged for their wives and several children to take part of the family assets to Hong Kong.

Because they weren’t familiar with conditions over there, they’d only taken a very small portion of the family fortune.

Of course, with the political climate becoming increasingly severe, the old man had also dispersed quite a bit of wealth in order to buy time and room to maneuver.

But those were merely the visible assets of the He family. They weren’t enough to damage the family’s true foundation.

The real fortune was still here.

Old Master He had divided it into several portions and hidden them separately.

The reason they’d been going out these past few days was precisely to arrange hiding places for these treasures.

The old man had channels that allowed him to know the current chaos wouldn’t last much longer.

This was merely the darkest hour before dawn—the final madness.

As long as they survived this period and protected the He family’s foundation, they would still be able to rise again in the future.

Naturally, only He Guangyao and He Guanghao knew about these arrangements.

Everyone else had been kept in the dark, and Sheng Manzhu most likely knew nothing about it.

Still, caution never hurt.

Only by protecting these things now would they have hope for the future.

Understanding the importance of the matter, Old Master He quickly brought his two sons to inspect the family’s hidden treasure locations.

“It’s a good thing we hid everything so carefully.”

He Guangyao sounded smug.

“We made everyone in the house think the assets had already been taken away by the women. That’s why Sheng Manzhu never got suspicious.”

Old Master He was equally pleased with his own foresight.

“As long as these treasures remain, the He family will never truly fall.”

After confirming that all the valuables were still safe, the He men began discussing plans to secretly move the assets overnight.

Only after deciding everything was foolproof did the father and sons finally wash up and rest.

Inside the space, Luoluo and the turtle had played for a very, very long time before finally remembering Mommy.

“Little Wu Dui…”

Deep down, Luoluo still held onto a tiny bit of hope.

“I want to see if Mommy came back yet. Let’s go home, okay?”

The turtle nodded.

“Mhm. Let’s go back.”

So Luoluo silently thought, Go out.

In the next instant, the little girl and turtle appeared inside Sheng Manzhu’s room again.

The moment they landed, they heard sounds of things being moved downstairs.

“Shhh.”

The turtle immediately warned her alertly.

“Luoluo, someone in your house is moving things around. Let’s secretly go take a look. Don’t let them discover us.”

The little girl and turtle quietly crept to the staircase and peeked downstairs.

The living room below was dimly lit, but nobody was there. The sounds of moving objects were coming from the courtyard outside.

The turtle immediately whispered,

“Come on, Luoluo. While nobody’s here, let’s hurry downstairs and see.”

Both the little girl and the turtle moved very slowly downstairs.

Luckily, the people outside were too focused on moving things and never came inside to notice them.

Sneaking quietly, they tiptoed to the doorway. Taking advantage of the darkness and their tiny size, they hid behind the plants as they carefully moved closer.

“It’s Grandpa and Uncles…”

After recognizing the people moving the items, Luoluo became excited.

“Little Wu Dui, it’s Grandpa and Uncles—”

“Luoluo.”

Afraid she might shout loudly and expose them, the turtle immediately interrupted her.

“Don’t call them. Your grandpa and uncles are moving things in the middle of the night. They definitely aren’t doing anything good.”

As it spoke, the turtle’s tiny green-bean eyes rolled thoughtfully.

Then it leaned close to Luoluo and whispered,

“Luoluo… aren’t you curious what they’re moving? Let’s crawl over and take a look.”
