“What are you looking at?”

Following Tang Youyou’s line of sight, Tang Yue asked curiously.

“Nothing. Let’s go inside. It hurts so much.”

She grabbed Tang Yue and hurried forward.

*Where’s the obstetrics and gynecology department?*

As soon as they entered the hospital, Tang Youyou looked around in every direction. Finally, she spotted a pregnant woman walking out of an outpatient clinic.

Her eyes lit up.

She immediately pulled Tang Yue straight toward the woman.

The night before, after the whole family had finished discussing Lu Ye’s situation, they were about to disperse when Tang Jiaojiao suddenly remembered something.

She let out a gasp and gritted her teeth.

“I think I saw Qin Yuchen today.”

The youngest daughter was so animated that Tang Hao quickly supported the startled Zhou Ping and asked,

“Where did you see him?”

Just thinking about it made Tang Jiaojiao furious. Her eyes practically blazed with anger.

“Where else? At the hospital, of course! Fuck, that bastard actually took a woman to the hospital for a prenatal checkup.”

Zhou Ping frowned and was just about to remind her not to swear when she heard the devastating news.

They had known from the beginning that Qin Yuchen was no good, but he had gotten another woman’s belly swollen before even getting married—and was openly taking her to the hospital for prenatal checkups, as if he were afraid people wouldn’t know how much he cared about that woman.

Tang Hao was angry for a slightly different reason.

When he learned that the Tang family was about to be liquidated, he had immediately passed the information on to Tang Zhen.

Then, while Tang Zhen was already overwhelmed with problems, Tang Hao had deliberately had someone casually bring up the marriage arrangement between the Tang and Qin families.

At the time, Tang Zhen had already sent someone to communicate with the Qin family, saying that the children were old enough and it was time to fulfill the marriage agreement.

Now, if the Qin family had simply refused right then and said that Qin Yuchen already had someone he loved, Tang Hao wouldn’t have thought so poorly of them.

But the Qin family had agreed.

And now, right after agreeing to the marriage, Qin Yuchen had taken another woman for a prenatal checkup.

Wasn’t that basically treating the Tang family like fools?

Most importantly, judging from what Jiaojiao had said, the woman’s belly was already showing. She was obviously more than three months pregnant.

Tang Hao didn’t believe the timing could be that coincidental.

The Qin family had only just discussed the marriage with Tang Zhen, and suddenly they discovered that this woman was pregnant?

Obviously, they didn’t want to marry the daughter of a nanny, but they also wanted to keep the child.

The only solution was to get married as quickly as possible and have the child raised under Tang Yue’s name.

Tang Hao had to admit that he was quite perceptive.

He had guessed the Qin family’s intentions almost exactly.

Unlike the rest of her family, who were furious, Tang Youyou thought this was something she could make use of.

Once she had proof that Qin Yuchen had an illegitimate child, she could bring it out at the right time.

It might become a very useful weapon.

And when Gu Jinzhi had mentioned writing a denunciation letter the previous night, Qin Yuchen had immediately come to mind.

Of course, she couldn’t be the one to write that denunciation letter.

If there was anyone in this world who hated Qin Yuchen the most, it was undoubtedly Tang Yue, who had no idea what kind of suffering she had endured in her previous life before being reborn.

Jiaojiao had said yesterday that the woman hadn’t finished her prenatal examination, so she would probably have to return to the hospital today.

And so Tang Youyou had used her period as an excuse, pretending to be in unbearable pain and asking Tang Yue to accompany her.

She just didn’t know when Qin Yuchen and that woman would appear.

All she could do was take a chance.

In 1968, people weren’t particularly conscious about prenatal checkups, so there weren’t many patients in the obstetrics and gynecology department.

Tang Youyou only had to sit outside for two minutes before it was her turn.

Reluctantly, she let Tang Yue support her inside and told the doctor that she’d gotten her period and was in severe pain, asking the doctor to prescribe some medicine as quickly as possible.

She still had to go outside and find someone.

But after hearing this, the doctor actually told her to lie down on the examination bed so she could be checked.

Tang Youyou’s expression immediately resembled an old man staring at his phone on the subway.

*Seriously?*

The most helpless part was that she was a doctor herself.

She knew the doctor’s approach wasn’t wrong, but she couldn’t exactly show off her medical knowledge in front of Tang Yue.

So she could only pretend to be shy and lie flat on the examination bed.

The doctor had just drawn the curtain when the door was pushed open.

Immediately afterward, Tang Youyou heard a completely unfamiliar male voice.

“Doctor Wang, my wife’s blood test results are back. Could you take a look for me?”

Before he could finish speaking, Tang Yue, who had been waiting outside, suddenly rushed inside like a frightened bird.

Tang Youyou froze.

A certain suspicion slowly took shape in her mind.

“Yue—”

Before she could finish calling her name, Tang Yue hurriedly covered her mouth.

Tang Youyou was now certain.

The person outside holding the prenatal examination results was Qin Yuchen.

*Hahaha!*

*What do you call this? Heaven is helping me!*

She deliberately blinked innocently and tried to pull the curtain aside to sneak a look.

But Tang Yue reacted quickly and immediately closed it again.

Tang Youyou hadn’t seen anything.

But who was she?

Even if she hadn’t seen anything, she could pretend she had.

She widened her eyes in shock.

“Mmph! Mmph!”

*Yue’er, little sister, I saw him…*

Tang Yue could practically read those words from Tang Youyou’s eyes.

Her heart skipped a beat, her mind buzzing.

*It’s over.*

Tang Youyou continued struggling, determined to see who was outside.

Tang Yue covered her mouth harder and harder.

Tang Youyou became so anxious that tears welled up in her eyes.

*Damn it.*

If it weren’t for the plan she had in mind, Tang Youyou would never have tolerated this.

At that moment, Tang Yue’s expression seemed to be completely consumed by some thought.

She looked as though she wanted Tang Youyou dead.

*Fuck!*

Fortunately, the doctor outside called Qin Yuchen inside.

After they sat down, the doctor looked over the results and said,

“There’s nothing wrong. Just go home and get plenty of rest and keep yourself in a good mood.”

“That’s good!”

Qin Yuchen let out a long sigh of relief.

Hearing those words, Tang Yue suddenly relaxed.

She stumbled backward and bumped into the examination bed.

Qin Yuchen instinctively glanced over.

Doctor Wang explained,

“It’s fine. She’s another one of my patients.”

Qin Yuchen didn’t suspect anything.

He put an arm around his childhood sweetheart’s shoulders and comforted her.

“Did you hear that? The doctor said you need to keep yourself in a good mood. You can’t keep secretly crying anymore.”

His childhood sweetheart’s eyes reddened.

“I… I was just worried when I heard you were going to…”

She hesitated and glanced at Doctor Wang, leaving the sentence unfinished.

But her meaning was perfectly clear.

Qin Yuchen felt even more guilty.

“It’s all my fault. Don’t worry. I’ll give you an explanation. Let’s go home.”

After the two left, Tang Youyou immediately rolled over and sat up.

She didn’t care whether she still needed an examination or not.

Her movements were so quick and agile that there was nothing wrong with her at all.

She opened the door and rushed outside, trying to catch up with Qin Yuchen.

Tang Yue was startled and hurried after her.

She finally found Tang Youyou in the hospital lobby, looking around in all directions.

At this moment, Tang Youyou’s face was so dark it looked as though ink might drip from it.

The moment she saw Tang Yue, she made a huge scene.

“Tang Yue, did you see that? Wasn’t that Qin Yuchen just now?

“He said that woman was his wife. He has a child?!”

Tang Yue’s expression was terrible, but she still had to pretend to be shocked.

She wiped her face, concealing her panic.

“Really? Cousin, you must have seen wrong. Qin Yuchen isn’t married yet. How could he possibly have a wife?

“Besides, they’ve already agreed to your marriage.”

“Really?”

Tang Youyou looked suspicious.

Tang Yue nodded firmly.

“Of course it’s true. What kind of person is the young master of the Qin family?

“I’ve heard he’s handsome, refined, and exceptionally accomplished—a true man among men. He doesn’t look like someone who would do something like that.

“And you’re so beautiful. You two are practically a perfect match. Just marry into the family and enjoy your good life.”

Tang Youyou’s expression immediately relaxed.

“I’m not *that* amazing.”

Then she tilted her head.

“But how do you know it wasn’t Qin Yuchen?”

Tang Yue’s heart sank.

“What do you mean?”

Tang Youyou shrugged.

“I’m just thinking about it. You were the one who said the Qin family is already preparing for the wedding.

“If word got out at a time like this that he already had a wife and child, wouldn’t that be bigamy?

“A man like that would be punished terribly.

“And if someone with ulterior motives found out, wouldn’t the Qin family be facing liquidation too?”
