Su Nuohan remained completely unaffected by the astonished gazes cast toward her from all around.

Her appearance was identical to the original owner of this body, and she had long since grown accustomed to such outstanding beauty, handling it with calm ease.

At that moment, her attention was drawn to a street-side candy figurine stall. The Elder Craftsman’s hands were skillfully shaping a lifelike phoenix candy figure, its amber-colored sheen glimmering under the sunlight.Full novel: The Capitalist’s Daughter, Blessed with Koi Luck, Emptied Her Family’s Assets and Married for Good Luck — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Fu Chengyan followed her gaze and asked in an indifferent tone, “You want it?”

A faint blush colored Su Nuohan’s cheeks. A little embarrassed, she gently shook her head. “It just looks very exquisite. His craftsmanship is really good.”

Fu Chengyan said nothing more and gave Qin Feng a glance.

Qin Feng understood immediately. He stepped forward at once and quickly returned with the most delicate and eye-catching phoenix candy figurine, respectfully handing it to Fu Chengyan.

Fu Chengyan took it and then handed it to Su Nuohan. “Here. Take it.”

Su Nuohan accepted it, her face blooming with just the right amount of delight and shyness. Her eyes shimmered as she said, “Thank you.”

After speaking, she carefully stuck out her tongue and licked it. Her eyes curved in satisfaction like two crescent moons. “So sweet.”

That pure smile and subtle gesture caused something inexplicable to stir in Fu Chengyan’s heart. A strange, indescribable feeling flickered through him, making him momentarily dazed.

Just as Su Nuohan was savoring the sweetness of the candy, preparing to continue walking forward, a commotion suddenly erupted at the street corner ahead, mixed with shouting and curses.

The three of them looked toward the sound.

They saw a thin, ragged Little Boy, skin and bones, panic-stricken as he squeezed through the crowd, running desperately.

Behind him was a burly man with a fierce, vicious face and a body full of brute fat, chasing while shouting curses, “You little brat! Stop right there!”

The Little Boy fled in blind panic and unexpectedly ran straight toward the direction of the three of them.

Qin Feng’s expression darkened instantly. Like lightning, he shifted his body and stood firmly in front of Su Nuohan and Fu Chengyan.

With a dull thud, the Little Boy crashed heavily into Qin Feng.

The difference in strength was enormous. Qin Feng’s stance remained completely unmoved, while the rebound force sent the Little Boy stumbling backward one or two meters, falling hard onto the ground.

At the same time, the pursuing burly man arrived.

Seeing the child on the ground, he gasped for breath and cursed loudly, “Run! You little bastard, why aren’t you running now? Weren’t you running pretty fast?”

“Damn it, you made me chase you through several streets. I’ll break your damn legs today!”

As soon as he finished speaking, he raised his foot viciously, aiming to stomp down on the boy’s thin leg.

Seeing this, Su Nuohan’s gaze darkened as she was about to stop him.

However, Qin Feng had already received Fu Chengyan’s silent instruction and moved even faster.

With a slight motion, he swiftly stepped forward and shoved the burly man back several stumbling steps, nearly knocking him to the ground.

The man steadied himself and immediately flew into a rage. His facial flesh trembled as he rolled up his sleeves and shouted at Qin Feng, “Damn it! Where did this brat come from? How dare you push me? Are you tired of living?”

Qin Feng remained expressionless and merely let out a cold snort. “So what if I pushed you?”

“You’re asking for death!” the man roared.

Relying on his large build, he clearly did not take Qin Feng, who appeared less muscular, seriously. He clenched a fist as large as a bowl and swung it toward Qin Feng’s face with a whooshing wind.

A cold glint flashed in Qin Feng’s eyes, filled with disdain.

Only when the fist was right before him did he move like a phantom, slightly shifting his body. His left hand struck out like lightning, accurately deflecting the clumsy attack, while his right hand turned into a blade-like palm and struck hard at the man’s elbow nerve point.

“Ah—!”

The burly man let out a pig-like scream. His entire right arm instantly went numb with searing pain and hung limp at his side.

Without pause, Qin Feng followed through seamlessly. His foot hooked sharply while his palm pushed forcefully against the man’s back.

With a heavy bang, the massive body was flung like a broken kite, crashing hard onto the ground with all four limbs in the air. He groaned in pain and struggled to get up but failed.

Everything happened in the blink of an eye.

Qin Feng’s movements were clean, decisive, and swift as the wind, drawing suppressed gasps from the surrounding crowd.

His cold gaze swept over the battered man on the ground like a blade. In a low but chilling voice, carrying the iron-blooded aura of a soldier, he said, “If you dare speak disrespectfully again, next time it won’t just be an arm that’s disabled.”

The burly man, both frightened and in pain, still showed unwillingness on his face. But when he met Qin Feng’s emotionless gaze, fear surged deep within him.

He swallowed hard, struggled to his feet, and muttered weakly, “Fine… fine! A wise man doesn’t fight when the odds are against him! I won’t bother with you!”

But his eyes flickered as he tried to move around Qin Feng again to grab the Little Boy.

“Stop.” Qin Feng’s voice rang out again, cold as ice chains, freezing him in place.

The man turned back impatiently. “What now? Didn’t I already let it go?”

Qin Feng’s lips curled into a mocking smile. “Explain clearly. Why did you lay hands on a child? What is your reason?”

“None of your damn business!” the man snapped instinctively.

Qin Feng did not get angry. Instead, he smiled—but it did not reach his eyes. “Not going to speak? Fine. Then this child is not leaving with you today.”

“What?!” the man could hardly believe his ears. “Brat, don’t push your luck! I’m not afraid of you!”

Qin Feng laughed aloud. “I’ve pushed it. What are you going to do about it?”

“You… you damn—” the man’s face turned green with rage. “Do you know who I am? You dare interfere in my business?”

“I don’t care who you are,” Qin Feng said coldly, his gaze sharp as an eagle. “But if you don’t explain this today, you’re not taking this child away.”

“You’re asking for it!” the man roared, scanning the surroundings wildly as if looking for help or weapons.

The atmosphere instantly tensed as the man looked ready to snap.

Fu Chengyan, who had been quietly observing the entire situation, finally spoke. His voice was not loud, but it carried undeniable authority that instantly suppressed all noise.

“Qin Feng.”

Only one name was spoken.

Qin Feng immediately understood. He adjusted his stance, sealing off all possible escape routes, his eyes locked on the man like a beast on prey.

The man’s heart jolted at the sound of Fu Chengyan’s voice. Although Fu Chengyan had not directly looked at him, an invisible pressure bore down on him, making it hard to breathe, as if he had been targeted by something extremely dangerous.

His arrogance weakened significantly. He froze in place, unable to advance or retreat.

At that moment, a soft voice broke the stalemate.

Su Nuohan had already moved beside the Little Boy without anyone noticing. She crouched down, gently wiping the dust from his face with a silk handkerchief as she asked softly, “Little friend, don’t be afraid. Tell big sister, what happened? Why is that man chasing you?”

The Little Boy, soothed by her gentle voice, gradually lost some of his fear.

“My grandma is sick. I came out to beg for some money to take her to see a doctor.”

“I met him on the road. He said if I followed him somewhere, he would give me money. I refused, so he grabbed me and ran.”

“Halfway through, I bit his hand and managed to escape, then I kept running until I got here.”

As soon as his words fell, the crowd erupted in an uproar.

“So it’s child trafficking!”

“How despicable!”

“Look at his vicious face, he must have done plenty of bad things!”

“Exactly! People like him should be reported to the authorities!”

“Catch him! Catch him!”

The crowd shouted angrily in unison.

The burly man, apparently irritated, roared at them, “Shut your mouths!”

The crowd immediately fell silent, too afraid to speak further.

The man scanned the crowd and sneered, “You ignorant fools—do you know who I am? I am from the Nine Dragons Society.”

“What? The Nine Dragons Society?”

Upon hearing this name, everyone’s expressions changed dramatically. Fear appeared on their faces as they instinctively stepped back several paces.
