Lin Wanfang looked at her husband’s furious yet powerless and defeated appearance, and the suspicion in her heart once again solidified.

She helped up Su Yurou and, with a flicker of venomous light in her eyes, walked up to Su Yaohua.

“A suspicion? About what?”

“Could it be… that it was that little bitch Su Nuohan who did it?”

“Su Nuohan?”

“Yes.”

“Other than her, I can’t think of anyone else. Think about it—your study’s hidden compartment is known only to us and that little bitch.

And why did nothing else get stolen except Rou’er’s belongings? Who else would do that?

Moreover, that girl grew up in the countryside and was never close to us. She was brought back only to be married off. She must have resentment and is taking revenge on us.”

After hearing this, Su Yaohua narrowed his eyes slightly and nodded.

“What you said… does make some sense. Ever since that dead girl came back, she has been wandering around the mansion. She knows this place inside out. It really could be her. But how did she manage to do it so silently?”

Lin Wanfang glanced at him.

“Who cares how she did it? The most important thing now is our money.”

“Mm. True. So what do you suggest?”

“Tomorrow, I’ll have Uncle Wang go to Pingjin and bring her back. Once she’s here, we’ll interrogate her properly and force her to return our money.”

“And if she insists it wasn’t her? We have no evidence.”

“Don’t worry. I have my own way.”

“Alright. We’ll do as you say.”

At that moment, Su Yurou sat there in a daze.

“Father, Mother… what do we do now?”

Lin Wanfang patted her back gently.

“Rou’er, don’t worry. We’ll have money again very soon.”

Su Yurou’s eyes lit up instantly.

“Really?”

“Of course. Although our mansion’s wealth was stolen, our workshops, shops, and estates are still intact. How could we possibly be without money?”

Her words were like a shot of adrenaline, restoring some of the family’s spirits.

Yes. As long as their businesses and land were still there, they would not be finished.

Even if the deeds were gone, as long as they were alive and still in control of operations, they could recover sooner or later.

Meanwhile, in the Young Marshal Residence.

Su Nuohan was in the bridal chamber.

“Young Madam, are you resting? Madam has asked this servant to invite you to dinner.”

She heard someone calling her faintly.

She opened her eyes and replied lazily.

“Alright, I’ll come now.”

The maid outside respectfully waited.

Su Nuohan got up and adjusted her slightly wrinkled qipao.

After a half-day rest, plus the energy food and water from her space, her spirit had fully recovered. In fact, that mysterious energy inside her seemed even more abundant.

She looked at herself in the Western-style mirror. The woman reflected there had delicate brows and fair skin like snow. Just after waking, there was a faint lazy charm at the corners of her eyes—completely masking the iron-willed, decisive nature hidden beneath.

After a brief look, she smiled slightly and opened the door.

The maid outside was stunned for a moment, then quickly lowered her head.

“Young Madam, Madam and the Young Marshal are already waiting in the dining room.”

Young Marshal? He’s there too?

Su Nuohan raised a brow slightly.

Under the maid’s guidance, she passed through an elegant corridor and arrived at a brightly lit dining hall.

A long Western-style dining table was covered with a white tablecloth, silver cutlery gleaming under the light.

Madam Fu was already seated, smiling warmly as she waited.

What caught her attention even more was that Fu Chengyan was also present, sitting in a wheelchair pushed by Qin Feng.

He had changed out of his hospital clothes into a neatly tailored dark military uniform. Although his face was still slightly pale, his cold and commanding aura was unmistakable. His deep eyes were already fixed on her, filled with scrutiny and inquiry.

“Nuohan is here! Come, sit quickly!” Madam Fu greeted warmly, pointing to the seat beside Fu Chengyan.

“Mother, Young Marshal.”

Su Nuohan stepped forward and curtsied lightly, her posture gentle and obedient, perfectly embodying a shy new bride.

Fu Chengyan’s gaze lingered on her for a few seconds, as if trying to find a flaw in that flawless expression. In the end, he simply gave a faint “Mm.”

Dinner soon began.

The dishes were abundant, a blend of Eastern and Western cuisine, clearly prepared with care.

Madam Fu kept serving her food and speaking warmly.

“Nuohan, eat more. You’re too thin. If it weren’t for you, Yan’er wouldn’t have recovered so quickly, and we wouldn’t have received such great news from the frontlines! You truly are our family’s lucky star!”

“I don’t deserve such praise, Mother. It is the Young Marshal’s fortune and the bravery of the soldiers that brought peace. I cannot take credit.”

She spoke modestly, while her eyes subtly glanced at Fu Chengyan.

He ate little, his movements elegant yet efficient, maintaining silence most of the time. But she could feel his gaze scanning her like a precise instrument.

Halfway through the meal, Fu Chengyan suddenly set down his cutlery and wiped his lips.

“I heard something happened to your family.”

“My family?”

She paused mid-motion, looking confused.

“Yun City Su family,” he clarified calmly.

At that moment, Madam Fu snorted first.

“Hmph! What else could it be? They were robbed overnight. The entire mansion was emptied. People outside are even saying it’s some ‘Wealth-Stealing Ghost’! I say it’s just karma!”

The moment she heard this, Su Nuohan couldn’t help but let out a soft laugh.

“Pfft—”

She quickly covered her mouth, widening her eyes in mock shock.

“A… a ghost?”

Seeing her reaction, Madam Fu hurried to reassure her.

“Don’t be scared, child. There are no such things as ghosts. In these chaotic times, there would be too many ghosts otherwise.”

“The Su family in Yun City has always been overbearing. Someone must have been unable to stand them and stole from them.”

“That’s true, Mother,” Su Nuohan nodded obediently.

She then showed a worried expression and quietly continued eating.

After a while, Madam Fu sighed.

“Nuohan, if you’re worried, I can have Qin Feng escort you back tomorrow.”

At this, she immediately raised her hand.

“No need!”

Both Madam Fu and Fu Chengyan looked at her.

Realizing her reaction was too strong, she quickly added:

“Mother, when a woman marries, she follows her husband. Now that I am part of the Fu family, my heart naturally belongs here. As for my natal family… the Su family has many businesses. Losing the treasury shouldn’t affect them too much.”

Madam Fu smiled with satisfaction.

“How fortunate I am to have such a sensible daughter-in-law.”

However, her words did not convince Fu Chengyan at all.

He spoke again calmly.

“It is said they suffered heavy losses. The Treasury, Accounting Office, and even private holdings were completely emptied. Master Su was so furious he vomited blood.”

His gaze remained fixed on her, not missing a single flicker in her expression.
