Feng You’s phone rang. He stopped in the hallway and answered the call.

The director’s anxious voice came through:

It felt as though a bomb had exploded in his mind. Immediately after, nothing remained in his ears except a constant ringing, rendering him completely unable to hear the director’s voice.

Feng You couldn’t even keep a grip on his phone; it slipped from his hand and hit the floor with a loud clatter.

“Brother Feng You?”

Mu Jingyi, who was walking ahead and transmitting data using his phone, heard the noise and turned around in confusion. He saw Feng You’s face instantly turn pale, his eyes losing focus.

Terribly frightened, he ran back to support Feng You, picked up the phone, and asked about the situation on the other end.

There was a crack running across the phone screen, displaying a mess of black and colored lines, but the audio was still working.

After comprehending the anxious and frantic account from the other side, Mu Jingyi’s expression also turned grim.

He hurriedly pulled out his own phone to call his father. “Hello, Dad, there’s an emergency. At the Third Affiliated Hospital’s emergency department, there’s an elderly man who collapsed, named Qin Youjiang.”

A sharp, cracking snap echoed as Feng You snatched a broom from the corner of the wall and stomped his foot down, shattering the plastic broom head below.

Clutching a steel pipe, he rushed toward the private dining room. His neat dress shirt had already lost a few buttons during his frantic movements, leaving his chest wide open as if he were ready for a massive brawl.

Mu Jingyi stared in dumbfounded shock, then snapped out of it and immediately ran after him.

“Brother Feng You! Calm down, it’s a trap! Lu Zhengming is just waiting for you to go back!”

He couldn’t possibly stop Feng You, who was stubbornly driving forward with his adrenaline peaking. Following closely behind in a fluster, Mu Jingyi begged his father over the phone for assistance.

At that exact moment, two phrases popped into Mu Jingyi’s head: one was a mother’s strength in crisis, and the other was youthful valor.

Feng You kicked the door of the private room open with one foot, shattering the doorknob.

Wielding the steel pipe, he aimed it at the burly men surrounding Lu Zhengming, suppressed his fury, and spoke every word with deliberate force:

“Give the child back to me.”

Lu Zhengming had just finished counting down the final seconds and looked at Feng You with calm composure.

“That’s my child. I’m merely letting him return to his father’s embrace.”

Feng You tightened his grip on the steel pipe, staring intently at him.

“You’re going to kill him?”

“Isn’t it great when they can’t speak? A little mute is wonderful, so much more peaceful and trouble-free.”

Lu Zhengming chuckled, looking down at the medicine bottle in his hand.

“Dead people are great too. Even safer.”

Astonished and furious, Feng You never imagined a person could stoop to such actions.

“This is a society ruled by law!”

Watching Old Man Lu swallow the liquid medicine right in front of him, Feng You felt his heart pound frantically with nervous tension.

Of course he knew it was a trap, but Lu Yubai’s safety rested entirely in this man’s hands. He had no choice but to leap into this trap meticulously prepared for him.

In a split second, an intense wave of Alpha pheromones flooded the entire room.

The pungent, suffocating smell of gunpowder smoke was so thick it made it impossible to open one’s eyes.

Feng You frowned slightly, yet experienced no physical reaction whatsoever to the Alpha pheromones.

Strong coughing sounds came from behind him. Mu Jingyi staggered and collapsed to the floor, gasping for air, but inhaling even more of the Alpha pheromones, which brought him to the brink of suffocation.

“Young Master Mu, you need to leave quickly.”

Feng You turned back to support him as the room door behind them swung open a crack.

A breath of fresh air poured in, causing Mu Jingyi to cough violently a few times before catching his breath slightly.

He was merely a sixteen-year-old Alpha youth; facing an opponent’s pheromones that were countless times stronger than his own, what he felt was an immensely aggressive suppression.

With a soft, electrical crack sound, one of Mu Jingyi’s ears began to bleed, droplets of blood trickling down continuously.

“What is this?”

At a complete loss, Feng You panicked and rushed to wipe away the glaring blood.

“Nothing, it’s just a wiretap. It broke because of the Alpha pheromone attack, but the recording has already been transmitted.”

Catching his breath, Mu Jingyi suddenly realized something and shoved Feng You outward.

“Hurry up and get out of here! You’re an Omega! Under the amplified effects of the Alpha pheromones, if you haven’t been marked yet, you’ll enter forced heat!”

“For my dad’s sake, Lu Zhengming won’t touch me. You need to leave!”

Only then did Feng You realize that under such intense Alpha pheromones, he should have immediately lost consciousness and entered a forced heat. Yet right now, he felt absolutely no reaction at all.

Having no time to overthink, he replied, “I don’t feel anything. Maybe I don’t have Omega pheromones or a heat cycle; I’m just like a Beta.”

“Young Master Mu, you go first. Please, you must help me find Yubai! I’m begging you! Make sure you find him.”

“Hey, you, I don’t have an Alpha pheromone scent either, but I can still feel…”

Before Mu Jingyi could finish his sentence, Feng You picked him up by the collar and tossed him out.

With a sharp click, Feng You locked the private room door from the inside, leaving Mu Jingyi no room to argue.

Clutching his aching head, Mu Jingyi still hadn’t fully recovered from the Alpha pheromones, and the scent gland at the back of his neck hurt severely.

“Damn it. Brother Feng You has lost his mind.”

He had no other options, so he had no choice but to leverage his personal connections to find people, while also calling the police and emergency services.

Inside the private room, Feng You rubbed his aching nose and stood back up.

The smell was truly unbearable, resembling second-hand cigarette smoke.

Seeing Feng You stand back up and calculating that the time was right, Lu Zhengming beckoned to the surrounding Beta bodyguards.

“Go on. Capture a heat-stricken Omega alive, and throw him into a pile of Alphas in their rut.”

Feng You simply tore open his obstructing dress shirt completely, splitting the fabric that had been binding his shoulders.

“Tch, needing to take medicine just to release Alpha pheromones, how frail can you get?”

Wielding the steel pipe, he charged head-on to smash into the incoming Beta bodyguards, showing zero signs of being affected by the Alpha pheromones.

The dual reinforcement of an adult golden retriever’s genes and the physique of a muscular, grown man allowed Feng You to hold his own effortlessly against multiple rushing bodyguards.

His tensed muscles radiated explosive power. Several shredded strips of fabric fell to the floor as he swung his arms, completely freeing him from any restriction.

His wheat-colored skin gleamed under the lights, sweat trickling through the gaps in his muscles to form a powerful, high-octane aesthetic of violence.

Feng You lacked formal fighting techniques; nearly all of his movements possessed zero flashy flourishes, remaining simple yet fatal.

He held back no mercy. Every time he raised his arms, he used his entire body’s strength to beat the bodyguards mercilessly, channeling his hatred and anger into bashing them until their heads bled.

The steel pipe in his hand became warped from the blows, so he grabbed a red wine bottle from the table, gripped the neck, shattered the expensive bottle, and drove the sharp glass shards straight into a man’s neck.

Blood and red wine splattered across his body, the sting of the alcohol irritating his wounds.

Yet adrenaline kept him from feeling any pain as he threw bare-knuckled punches at anyone charging toward him.

His face bore scratches, his eyes were bloodshot as if driven insane by slaughter, and heavy gasps broke from his throat in low, rumbling growls, resembling the terrifying snarls of an enraged monster.

Several burly men were knocked sprawling onto the floor by Feng You. He planted one foot on the back of a bodyguard whose forehead was bleeding, using the back of his hand to wipe away the mixture of sweat, blood, and red wine staining his cheek.

He tilted his head to look at Lu Zhengming, whose face had gone pale from utter shock, and gave a faint smile, one so chilling it made spines crawl, akin to a demon risen from a bloodbath in hell.

“I told you, I’m a hound.”

His raspy voice rang out, sounding more like a canine bark.

“You, how is this possible? You’re an Omega, how could you not have a forced heat? Have you been marked? Were you already marked?”

Lu Zhengming had long since lost his earlier composure, dragging his chair backward as he retreated against the glass pane by the window.

He had been waiting for the Alpha pheromones to take effect in Feng You’s body, never expecting that after tossing Mu Jingyi out, Feng You would act as though nothing was wrong, taking down four men single-handedly.

Bare-chested and covered in blood and alcohol, Feng You bypassed the table empty-handed.

With a single hand, he clamped his grip around Lu Zhengming’s neck, though he merely held him without exerting fatal pressure.

An aging Alpha possessed little combat capability; having just exhausted his pheromones, his legs were currently weak as jelly.

“You, you can’t. This is a society ruled by law.”

Comically, Lu Zhengming repeated the exact words Feng You had spoken moments earlier.

“Where is Lu Yubai?”

Feng You slightly tightened his grip, demanding in a harsh voice:

“I, I don’t know, my wife is handling that.”

Lu Zhengming flailed about wildly, the sensation of suffocation at his throat making him acutely feel the approach of death.

A wave of intense warmth washed over him. Though he smelled no scent, he felt as though his face was being scorched by a blazing fire.

“Call her. Right now.”

Feng You applied pressure for another moment, sending Lu Zhengming into a fit of coughing.

An urgent knocking sound echoed from the door. Feng You tossed Lu Zhengming onto the floor and turned to open it.

Mu Jingyi’s anxious voice came from the doorway:

“Brother Feng You, my dad already found Yubai, and the police are here too. Are you uninjured?”

The sixteen-year-old Alpha youth stared stupidly at the four semi-conscious Beta bodyguards sprawled across the floor, completely dumbfounded.
