Lin Su did have more fitted, stylish dresses of her own design, but considering this was Yu Family Village and acceptance here wasn’t as high as in the city, she still chose something more conservative—a white blouse and a long skirt.

However, the blouse was a cropped design with a large lapel and a fitted cut, and the high-waisted skirt raised her waistline significantly, making her legs look exceptionally long.

After losing weight, her face was already too beautiful. With just a slight touch of dressing up, she became incredibly eye-catching.Full novel: The Chubby Wife of the 80s Is Beautiful and Sweet; the Reserved Tough Guy Went to Get the Marriage Certificate — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

When Qin Zhoucheng looked at Lin Su, it felt like he was seeing her for the first time.

He had never particularly paid attention to her appearance before. Perhaps because they had lived together day after day, or perhaps because even when she lost weight, he hadn’t really noticed. When Sun Yongcheng said “sister-in-law is really pretty,” he hadn’t taken it to heart.

But now, he had to admit—she really was beautiful. Not at all inferior to movie stars.

The blue and white outfit suited her perfectly—fresh, lively, and pure.

It was a bit dangerous. His heartbeat was getting stronger and more irregular, and his ears were starting to feel hot again.

Qin Zhoucheng clenched his hand slightly, a little annoyed at himself for being so easily influenced by her emotions. In Beijing, in the military compounds, in logistics departments—he had seen countless beautiful women.

Even Xu Yiyan, the girl rumored to be his childhood fiancée, was one of the most popular young women in their circle.

Yet Qin Zhoucheng had never felt anything for her, nor did he recognize the so-called “engagement” as anything serious.

But this rural village girl kept making him lose control. His heart felt like it was about to jump out of his chest.

Lin Su, however, was not satisfied.

“I changed my clothes. Why aren’t you changing too? You’re still wearing your work uniform.”

Huigang was wealthy and provided seasonal uniforms for workers. The fabric was durable and thick, and in Yu Family Village, it symbolized a stable and respected job.

But to Lin Su, it was just a darker version of a military uniform with no shape or style at all.

“It doesn’t really matter what I wear,” Qin Zhoucheng said indifferently.

The oversized uniform, however, looked unexpectedly good on him. With his broad shoulders, narrow waist, and long legs, it even had a strange “designer outfit” effect.

“Go on, go on. Put on the clothes I made for you,” Lin Su said with a smile, pushing him inside. “I’ve already laid them out in the cabinet—they’re washed. Just try them on for me.”

Qin Zhoucheng frowned slightly but went inside. His attention, however, drifted to her shoes.

She wore simple dark blue cloth shoes. Even though she had altered them and added small embroidered floral patterns, they still didn’t match her outfit very well.

If she wore white low-heeled leather shoes instead—something with ankle straps—it would look much better.

He thought she probably didn’t want to spend the money.

Even though he had given her 1,000 yuan as so-called “bride price,” it was actually compensation. She hadn’t spent a single cent of it and even thought about returning it one day. She was far too stubborn.

After a while, Qin Zhoucheng came out wearing the new outfit.

Lin Su’s eyes lit up instantly.

The outfit had a relaxed, collegiate style—white stand-collar shirt underneath, a loose V-neck knit sweater on top, and wide-leg suit pants. Combined with his slightly cool expression and mixed-race-like features, he looked like an elite student from Eton College.

So handsome.

He could easily become a movie star, a model, someone walking the runway.

Lin Su internally screamed in excitement.

Qin Zhoucheng noticed her slightly flushed cheeks and bright, sparkling eyes fixed on him without blinking.

He usually didn’t like wearing anything too eye-catching, and he could tell at a glance that this outfit had a European style, though still loose and not tight-fitting.

Forget it—he would just go along with her. Making her happy seemed more important.

The two of them—an undeniably handsome man and a strikingly beautiful woman—had not even left the village when they were already surrounded by onlookers.

As for Qin Zhoucheng, villagers had always considered him impressive. After all, when he married Lin Su out of necessity, many people said the old village leader had arranged a bad match.

It was a waste for someone like Qin Zhoucheng.

After he became the recruitment officer and a leader at Huigang, village women began to look at their own husbands more critically.

The rough men in the village didn’t bathe often, didn’t like washing their feet, and often went straight into bed covered in dirt and sweat. Compared to the clean, capable, and good-looking Qin Zhoucheng, they seemed completely inferior.

Their wives grew increasingly dissatisfied, and the men, though angry, had nothing to argue with.

The only consolation was that Qin Zhoucheng had married a divorced woman from the village—an overweight, unattractive Lin Su.

That at least balanced things out in their minds.

But now, as the couple appeared together, everyone was stunned.

The beautiful young woman looked like she had stepped out of a movie. Slim but not fragile, with a full and healthy figure—what villagers would call “curvy in all the right places.” Her skin was so fair it seemed to glow under the sunlight.

Even the village beauty looked dull in comparison.

Women from Huigang factories couldn’t compare either.

“Xiao Lin, you’re dressed so nicely today. Going somewhere special?” Only Xu Ermei dared to speak up.

Lin Su smiled. “Old Qin’s on leave today. We’re going to Haicheng. I’ll bring you some sweets when we come back.”

She blinked playfully, bright and lively, making several men nearby take sharp breaths.

Even the local troublemakers were about to whistle—but Qin Zhoucheng shot them a cold glance, and they immediately shut up.

By the time the couple had left the village, many people were still staring blankly.

Only now did everyone fully confirm—it really was Lin Su.

The same Lin Su who had once been fat and unattractive had completely changed.

And now, they could no longer say anything bad about Qin Zhoucheng. Even if he was impressive, his wife used to be considered a flaw—but now she was stunning.

Looking at Lin Su’s graceful figure and fair skin, then at their own rough wives, the contrast felt unbearable.

Some even began to regret it—if they had known she would become this beautiful, they might have wanted to marry her themselves.

Inside the house, Yu Xiuli had also seen everything.

Now Lin Su standing beside Qin Zhoucheng made them look like a perfect match, while the Yu family had become the joke.

Yu Xiuli returned home and smashed things in anger. She was scolded harshly by Old Madam Sun, cried on the bed for a long time, and still felt unwilling.

Why did Lin Su have such good luck?
