Shen Zhinian and Bo Chengjing had a very high pheromone compatibility.

Shen Zhinian, of course, did not know this.

Bo Chengjing hadn’t known at first either. It was only during one of Shen Zhinian’s rutting periods that Bo Chengjing was affected by his pheromones.Full novel: The Cold And Stern Bigshot Turns Out To Be An Omega — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

That was why he went to check their pheromones.

He discovered it was caused by an excessively high compatibility rate.

Ever since he found out he was an omega, Bo Chengjing had constantly been using suppressants to suppress his heat periods and his pheromones.

Because he had many things to do. He had a younger brother to care for and protect.

He had to be strong and have no weaknesses.

At first, he used suppressants that could be purchased through special channels.

The side effects were huge, and every time he injected them, his physical reaction was also intense.

Later, Luo Shang researched a new formula.

He had been using the one Luo Shang developed ever since.

Luo Shang’s suppressants had a stronger suppression effect and fewer side effects compared to the ones used previously.

Bo Chengjing had never been affected by other alphas’ pheromones while using the suppressants.

However, it didn’t work against Shen Zhinian.

Even when injecting large doses of suppressants, they would become ineffective the moment they touched Shen Zhinian’s pheromones.

Today was no exception. As soon as Shen Zhinian left the room, he controlled his pheromones. Otherwise, those two injections Bo Chengjing took would likely have been in vain.

“What did you tell him?” Bo Chengjing asked again.

“To keep our stories straight, you endured it and waited for me like that. I really have to hand it to you,” Luo Shang said. “I told him you were allergic to certain pheromones and told him to behave himself from now on.”

“Mhm,” Bo Chengjing acknowledged. “How is Bo Jue?”

“Fine,” Luo Shang said. “He’s already asleep. It was a normal heat period. He got the suppressant and is fine now. What a worry. One trouble isn’t enough, and another one comes along.”

“He’ll be leaving in a couple of days,” Bo Chengjing said.

Luo Shang fell silent for two seconds, then asked, “What’s going on between you and Shen Zhinian? He didn’t even have his rutting period, yet with such thick pheromones, I was standing at the door and almost took action myself.”

Bo Chengjing didn’t speak.

Luo Shang added, “And another thing, have you been taking two doses of that medicine all this time?”

“One dose isn’t working as well anymore,” Bo Chengjing said.

“Then why didn’t you say so earlier!” Luo Shang exclaimed. “No wonder you were running through them so fast! Do you really not want this body of yours anymore?”

Bo Chengjing didn’t want to answer his question, so he asked instead, “Didn’t you say you’d be back in two weeks? It’s only been two days.”

When he called the doctor for Bo Jue, he had assumed Luo Shang wasn’t around and that a different doctor would be sent over.

He hadn’t expected Luo Shang to come personally.

And it was a good thing it was him.

“The cooperation talks fell through, so I came back early,” Luo Shang answered his question. After a moment, he said, “Bo Chengjing, did you take my words to heart? You really can’t keep using this medicine. You’ve been using it for too long, and now you’ve even increased the dosage.”

Bo Chengjing fell silent again.

“I really want to bite you right now,” Luo Shang said.

“Get going,” Bo Chengjing said. “Don’t delay my rest. I can’t hold on much longer.”

Luo Shang picked up his medical kit and walked out. “I must have owed you in my past life.”

The bedroom door opened and closed.

Listening to the sound, Bo Chengjing lowered the hand covering his eyes, pulled the blanket up, and closed his eyes to sleep.

After taking a shower and wandering outside for a while to make sure there was no scent of pheromones on him, Shen Zhinian pushed open the door to Bo Chengjing’s bedroom.

Walking quietly into the room, he saw Bo Chengjing was still asleep, looking fast asleep.

Shen Zhinian stood by the bedside, looking at his flushed face, closed eyes, long eyelashes, high bridge of the nose, rosy and moist thin lips, and delicate skin.

As he looked, he suddenly averted his gaze and swallowed.

Then, standing by the bed a little longer, he quietly went to the bathroom to fetch a towel.

Bo Chengjing had sweated quite a bit, and the loose strands of hair on his forehead were damp.

Sweatdrops beaded on his forehead, looking somewhat glistening against the contrast of his fair skin.

Crouching by the bedside, Shen Zhinian carefully brushed his hair to both sides, then used the towel to gently wipe the sweat from his forehead.

His movements were very light, afraid of waking him up.

At the same time, he was very clumsy because he had never done this kind of thing before.

Usually, he was the one being taken care of. He had never cared for anyone else.

After wiping the sweat off his forehead, seeing that Bo Chengjing also had sweat on his neck, Shen Zhinian folded the towel and gently wiped the sweat from his neck.

He had always known Bo Chengjing’s skin was very good and delicate.

In comparison, although his own skin was also fair and decent, it gave people a cold and rigid feeling, whereas Bo Chengjing gave people a soft and tender feeling.

After carefully wiping away the sweat, Shen Zhinian found himself breaking into a sweat as well.

Fortunately, it didn’t wake Bo Chengjing up.

A stroke of good fortune amidst clumsy techniques.

Bo Chengjing slept, and Shen Zhinian did not leave.

Before dinner, Shen Zhinian had sent a message to the housekeeper telling her not to call him.

Luo Shang also came by once. Seeing that Bo Chengjing was asleep and Shen Zhinian was keeping him company, he went right back out.

Shen Zhinian also checked up on Bo Jue.

Luo Shang said he was fine, the suppressant worked well, and he was already much more energetic.

By tomorrow, he would practically be all right.

Acknowledging this, Shen Zhinian sat down on the carpet by the bed and kept watch over Bo Chengjing.

Bo Chengjing slept all the way until close to midnight.

He had a very long dream.

In the dream, Shen Zhinian moved out.

He was left all by himself at home.

In the empty house, he felt somewhat reluctant to return.

The dream was terrifying, but when he opened his eyes and looked at the person sleeping beside him, Bo Chengjing was stunned for a moment, and his heart slowly began to warm up.

The room was very dark.

However, the curtains were undrawn, and the moon outside was very bright.

Moonlight spilled in, casting a hazy, cold glow over the room.

Shen Zhinian was sitting on the carpet, holding Bo Chengjing’s wrist with one hand and resting his head on his own arm as he slept.

Looking down at his head, Bo Chengjing smiled faintly.

Fearing the floor was too cold, he moved his hand.

Shen Zhinian instantly snapped awake. The hazy sleepiness had not yet faded, but his eyes were already fixed on Bo Chengjing’s face, and he blurted out, “What’s wrong? Uncomfortable? Where does it hurt? Luo Shang hasn’t left yet, I’ll go call him.”

Bo Chengjing pulled him back. “It’s fine, I’m already better, nothing hurts.”

Looking at the awake Bo Chengjing, Shen Zhinian dazed for a moment before reacting, “Are you really okay?”

As he spoke, he reached out to touch Bo Chengjing’s forehead.

It wasn’t hot, and he wasn’t sweating anymore.

“Mhm,” Bo Chengjing sat up, leaned against the headboard, turned on the bedside lamp, and looked at Shen Zhinian. “You’ve been here the whole time?”

In the dim, warm light, Shen Zhinian stared closely at Bo Chengjing. Seeing that he indeed seemed better, he let out a sigh of relief and nodded.

“What are you doing staying here the whole time? Aren’t you cold?” Bo Chengjing asked.

“There’s a carpet,” Shen Zhinian said like a wrongdoing child, his voice low. “I was worried about you. I wouldn’t have peace of mind anywhere else.”

“It was just an allergy, and I took medicine. What could possibly happen?” Bo Chengjing said. “Little fool.”

As he spoke, he reached his hand toward the top of Shen Zhinian’s head.

Before his hand could even land, Shen Zhinian grabbed his wrist and placed Bo Chengjing’s hand right on top of his own head.

Bo Chengjing’s hand stiffened for a moment.

Looking at him, Shen Zhinian said aggrievedly, “Your biological brother came, and you don’t even pet my head anymore.”

“You weren’t home much these past few days either,” Bo Chengjing said.

“Don’t even start,” Shen Zhinian said, feeling even more aggrieved. “I ran away from home, and you didn’t even bother to look for me.”

“I called, but your phone was off,” Bo Chengjing replied.

“Then what about later?” Shen Zhinian demanded. “You just got a new brother and didn’t want your old brother anymore.”
