Upon arriving at the old family residence, Song Yunsheng’s expression showed no signs of abnormality. The entire extended family shared a peaceful and harmonious meal together.
Old Mrs. Song adored Sang Yu the moment she laid eyes on her, beckoning her to sit nearby. Even after the meal, she held onto Sang Yu, chatting incessantly. As they spoke, the old lady’s brow suddenly furrowed.
She reached out to grab Song Yunsheng, who quickly hurried over to attend to her. However, as soon as she arrived, Old Mrs. Song placed Song Yunsheng’s hand on the back of Sang Yu’s. Looking at the two of them, she smiled with immense satisfaction and began to earnestly enjoin them: “You two aren’t getting any younger. Hurry up and have a child; Grandma is looking forward to it every day.”
The words came so suddenly that Sang Yu couldn’t help but feel embarrassed. She lowered her eyes, intending to cough twice to brush the topic aside, but then she heard Song Yunsheng reply from the other side, “Don’t worry, Grandma. We will.”
This… she actually agreed??
Sang Yu glanced at her out of the corner of her eye and noticed that Song Yunsheng’s expression was quite serious, which she found incredibly strange. In the past, whenever the old lady brought this up, Song Yunsheng would usually avoid the topic. To see her relent so rarely now made Sang Yu suspicious, but seeing the grandmother so happy, Sang Yu could only guess that Song Yunsheng wanted to soothe the elderly woman’s heart.
After all, the old lady was advanced in years. After pushing herself to speak so much, her energy began to wane. The nanny quickly stepped in to help her back to her room to rest.
Soon, only Sang Yu and Song Yunsheng were left in the room. Sang Yu was thinking about returning to the film set when she turned around and discovered that Song Yunsheng had produced a bottle of red wine from somewhere.
Seeing Sang Yu turn her head, Song Yunsheng asked, “Want a drink?”
Sang Yu couldn’t fathom her intentions and instinctively waved her hand. “No, I have scenes to film tomorrow.”
Besides, someone had to drive; at least one of them needed to stay sober, right? If they both drank, how would they get home?
Before Sang Yu could voice these thoughts, Song Yunsheng had already poured a glass and downed it herself. She didn’t try to persuade Sang Yu further, which made Sang Yu feel even more puzzled. She stood there watching, unsure if she should leave.
Song Yunsheng drank glass after glass. By the time her face flushed a deep crimson, her pace had only quickened, as if she were desperate to drown herself in it.
Under these circumstances, Sang Yu had no choice but to stop her. But just as she reached out, Song Yunsheng looked over, her eyes locking firmly onto Sang Yu’s. A low murmur escaped her throat: “Sang Yu… take me home.”
The way she whispered “Sang Yu” left Sang Yu feeling dazed. Song Yunsheng’s tone had softened, becoming unbelievably gentle.
But Sang Yu quickly snapped out of it, frowning as she asked, “I don’t understand what you mean.”
Song Yunsheng continued to stare at her, her lips curving into a muffled, dull laugh. “I’m drunk. I can’t drive. I can’t exactly stay here at Grandma’s, can I?”
After hearing this explanation, it was actually hard to believe Song Yunsheng was truly drunk, but Sang Yu had no desire to argue. She simply took the wine bottle away.
She said flatly, “Then what are you standing there for? Get in the car.”
Song Yunsheng seemed to interpret this as Sang Yu’s compromise. Her eyes curved, and her originally cold gaze was stained with a hint of a smile; even the small red mole near her eye seemed to take on a different flavor. It was only then that Sang Yu felt Song Yunsheng might actually be drunk—otherwise, how could she smile like that?
However, whether she was drunk or not had nothing to do with her. Sang Yu kept a stoic face, half-supporting and half-dragging her away. The servants at the old residence watched them with surprised expressions but said nothing.
Once in the car, Song Yunsheng sat in the passenger seat with her eyes closed, feigning sleep. Sang Yu glanced at her, frowning as she leaned over to help fasten her seatbelt.
All she received in return was a “thank you” from Song Yunsheng, though even that was a rarity.
Sang Yu’s mood improved slightly. When the car arrived home, she nudged Song Yunsheng, worried about what to do if the woman had fallen asleep. Fortunately, Song Yunsheng opened her eyes quickly. Seeing Sang Yu in such close proximity, she froze for a moment, then looked away and whispered, “I’m still a bit dizzy…”
Hearing this, Sang Yu didn’t know what else to do. She suppressed the urge to roll her eyes and pulled the woman out of the car with somewhat unceremonious movements.
But before she could do anything else, a sudden force enveloped Sang Yu, pinning her straight against the car. Sang Yu’s eyes widened as she looked at Song Yunsheng, who was now even closer than before. For a moment, her breath hitched.
Recovering, she frowned and tried to push her away, but Song Yunsheng hissed a “shh” at that moment.
Song Yunsheng didn’t look into Sang Yu’s eyes; instead, she leaned slightly against Sang Yu’s ear. Sang Yu couldn’t see her expression and could only hear her warm breath. It took a while for her to realize Song Yunsheng was saying: “There are paparazzi nearby. You should cooperate with me to dispel the rumors of our marriage breaking up, right?”
Sang Yu hadn’t heard clearly at first, and by the time she did, her brain hadn’t fully processed it. During that brief pause, Song Yunsheng couldn’t wait any longer. She leaned in proactively, a sweet scent overflowing as she firmly kissed Sang Yu.
Sang Yu felt a warm object pry open her teeth, seizing all her breath in a moment when she was completely defenseless.
For an instant, she even forgot to breathe, but her body’s instincts remained. Her gland began to heat up slightly, and her pheromones jumped out faster than her logic, circling around Song Yunsheng like a loyal puppy.
By the time the kiss ended, Sang Yu’s face was flushed. She let out a breath and glanced back, but she didn’t see any flashes from paparazzi cameras.
At this point, Sang Yu didn’t even want to care about what Song Yunsheng was playing at. She struggled to control her pheromones, wishing they wouldn’t act like a “licker” just like their owner. With a displeased expression, she pulled Song Yunsheng straight toward the house.
As an Alpha, Sang Yu could be said to have poor self-control for letting her pheromones be drawn out, but Song Yunsheng was drunk.
It was unimaginable what a drunk Omega might do. Sang Yu’s heartbeat hadn’t even leveled out yet, but her only thought was to get Song Yunsheng home quickly so she could escape and return to the set to rest.
Yet, at that moment, Song Yunsheng became uncooperative.
She began to mumble and grumble, saying she didn’t like Sang Yu acting like this, and that Sang Yu was using too much strength and hurting her. Sang Yu instinctively loosened her grip, only for Song Yunsheng to take advantage of the opening and press closer into her embrace.
Sang Yu was now certain Song Yunsheng was truly drunk; otherwise, it would be impossible for her to do such a thing. With a cold face, she forcefully dragged Song Yunsheng along. Song Yunsheng eventually began to cooperate, but she clearly pressed herself even closer.
With the “warm jade” in her arms, Sang Yu’s pheromones became increasingly uncontrollable. Heat surged through her body, and she finally reached the front door a second before she hit her breaking point.
As soon as the door opened, Sang Yu originally intended to push Song Yunsheng inside, but she didn’t expect Song Yunsheng to pull her in instead. After a stumbling step, Sang Yu turned around, intending to question her. In the unlit darkness, a soft, warm body pressed against her.
She let out an instinctive cry of surprise, but her pheromones betrayed her will. Perhaps because they had been rejected so many times, they were now exceptionally excited. At that same moment, the voice-activated light flickered on.
Thus, Sang Yu saw with her own eyes that the corners of Song Yunsheng’s eyes were moist and red. She pressed against her and began to unbutton her clothes, revealing the provocative lingerie underneath. Sang Yu’s first reaction was to push her away and walk out.
Song Yunsheng gritted her teeth, closing her eyes and kissing Sang Yu’s lips without any rhythm or plan. Sang Yu maintained a final, precarious shred of logic, questioning her with a stern voice that masked her internal weakness.
“Song Yunsheng, what exactly do you want to do?”
Song Yunsheng was uncharacteristically flustered. She spoke against her true feelings, saying, “Since we agreed not to divorce, then marital obligations must still be fulfilled.”
“Is your heat cycle here?”
Sang Yu was still asking irrelevant questions at a time like this.
Song Yunsheng didn’t know if she was simply lacking charm or if Sang Yu had changed her nature. She pursed her lips unhappily and wrapped her arms around Sang Yu’s neck, her breath trailing slowly: “What do you think?”
Sang Yu opened her mouth, instinctively wanting to take a breath to maintain her composure, but with that single scent, she realized Song Yunsheng was indeed aroused.
Song Yunsheng was rarely proactive, and her pheromones were usually faint and tasteless—but at this moment, for the first time, Sang Yu smelled that Song Yunsheng’s pheromones carried an enticing sweetness.
Perhaps feeling humiliated by Sang Yu’s coldness, Song Yunsheng gave her a seductive, charming look and directly pushed her onto the bed.
Perhaps it was too absurd, but Sang Yu’s logic slowly drifted away under the interference of the pheromones. At some point, the clothes on her body fell away. Her self-control vanished completely as she sought out every inch of Song Yunsheng’s breath.
A night of madness.
When the last round ended, Song Yunsheng was exhausted and fell into a deep sleep. Sang Yu felt the messy breathing…
And suddenly froze.
The scent of pheromones had dissipated. The bedroom’s ventilation fan was diligently performing its duty, and Sang Yu’s logic finally returned. She sat there in a daze, for a time unable to understand what this was supposed to be between them.
Her hand was still wrapped around Song Yunsheng’s waist—the skin there was warm and soft—but Sang Yu quickly felt regret. She didn’t understand why, after warning herself so many times, they had ended up in the same bed anyway.
Then what was the point of all the mental preparation she had given herself these past few days?
Sang Yu sighed, her emotions extraordinarily complex. She glanced at Song Yunsheng, cautiously withdrew her hand, and stood up to tidy her clothes.
Whatever… it was just fulfilling the agreement. Song Yunsheng had said it herself: just “marital obligations.”
Sang Yu finished dressing and left without hesitation.
