“It’s all your fault,” Yin Shiyu said to Chen Yanjing, “Did that academic genius ever talk to others in class?”

“Right, right, it has nothing to do with you.” Chen Yanjing rolled his eyes, “I don’t know what you’re pretending for.”

Yin Shiyu found it somewhat amusing, but didn’t say anything else.Full novel: The Cold School Heartthrob Forces Me to Mark Him — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Jiang Chuanzhi didn’t continue talking to them, but listened attentively to the teacher on the podium, looking very focused.

Seeing him like this, Yin Shiyu and Chen Yanjing naturally felt embarrassed to continue disturbing him.

It looked as if the two of them were the ones delaying his studies.

Yin Shiyu still didn’t think that way. He just felt a connection, and he did have a little interest, but only a little; he wouldn’t actively interfere with other people’s lives.

After class, the three of them had different classes next, so naturally they wouldn’t meet, and there was no reason to talk much.

Yin Shiyu and Chen Yanjing chatted for a while before going to the classroom for their next class.

When alone, Yin Shiyu preferred solving Rubik’s Cubes rather than doing anything else.

Kakeru had chosen most of the courses he was interested in, but he couldn’t fill all the required class hours for his favorite subjects, so he picked several to make up the numbers.

The interstellar history course he was currently taking was one he really disliked. Kakeru didn’t like war, even in the interstellar era with constant conflict; he didn’t yearn to crush others as a victor.

What he wanted was inner peace.

If possible, Kakeru hoped everyone could live the life they wanted.

While this was very idealistic, he genuinely held this belief.

After a day of classes, Yin Shiyu called Chen Yanjing: “Let’s go home and deliver some goods today.”

“OK, see you behind the Tranquil Building then.”

“Okay.”

Before entering Yanming Academy, Chen Yanjing and Yin Shiyu had worked together on a project, mainly researching the combined use of artificial pheromones and inhibitors.

Their research was not only outstanding, advancing the field, but also patented, meaning no one else could sell it

. To avoid being discovered, they had never appeared in public, not even at award ceremonies.

Both Yin Shiyu and Chen Yanjing were absolutely certain that if these things were leaked, it would cause countless disputes, so they would never do such a thing. They

understood that if they couldn’t ensure everything would go smoothly afterward, they shouldn’t do anything.

“I want to take the hovercar back!”

Chen Yanjing said excitedly when he saw Yin Shiyu.

Judging from his reaction, he had probably seen something.

“Sure, I have to come back tomorrow anyway,” Yin Shiyu replied casually.

He genuinely didn’t care; the mode of transportation wasn’t important, what mattered was getting things done today.

They both owned the patent rights, so frankly, they had a monopoly on this technology.

They could set the price as they pleased; inhibitors alone could solve most problems, unless someone already had pheromone issues requiring extra intervention.

However, not many people needed this technology; only a few genuinely had such a demand.

“Blue or what?” Yin Shiyu asked him.

“Pink.”

“Okay.”

The pink hovercar was a prize Chen Yanjing won in an experiment, and he had always liked it.

He was driving it now, and it was clear he was in a good mood.

A few minutes later, they returned to the floating island. Yin Shiyu’s island was next to Chen Yanjing’s, so they had lived together since childhood.

“Haven’t been back for a few days, the floating island really looks exactly the same.”

Yin Shiyu found his comment amusing: “What changes do you hope for? A change of ownership?”

“We shouldn’t be that poor, right?” Chen Yanjing said.

“Isn’t that it?”

After saying that, they both laughed. They were just joking casually and didn’t think much of it.

In the interstellar era, for those with resources, accumulating wealth was actually quite easy.

Things that everyone had weren’t particularly valuable; only those with rare or special resources were more likely to succeed.

However, such people were also prone to arrogance and taking the path of plunder. In short, Yin Shiyu strongly disapproved of this situation, but unfortunately, there was nothing he could do about it.

“This order volume is actually quite a bit higher than before. I wonder who suddenly took a liking to our products,” Chen Yanjing remarked while sorting through the orders.

“Evil rich people,” Yin Shiyu replied casually.

Chen Yanjing found his comment amusing; after all, the Yin family was indeed incredibly wealthy, with a deeply entrenched network of influence that allowed Yin Shiyu to do many things at will.

Yin Shiyu also had a very good personality and never thought much of this; he was always very polite and courteous in his interactions with others.

The two didn’t continue the conversation, focusing mainly on packing.

They wouldn’t entrust this task to anyone else, so they would personally handle everything.

Yin Shiyu didn’t pay much attention to the delivery addresses, but he was still somewhat shocked when he saw the floating island so close to him.

These days, only a limited number of families would live on floating islands, and most of them would have some connection to their families.

“What are you looking at?” Chen Yanjing asked after noticing him stop.

“No, just curious,” Yin Shiyu commented. “There’s an address for a floating island here.”

“Forget it, let’s not get too involved; it involves other people’s privacy.”

Yin Shiyu agreed.

The potion they were researching wasn’t suitable for everyone; in fact, unless someone had a specific need, there was no need to use it.

“It just feels strange. I never look at information slips,”

Chen Yanjing nodded; he knew that was the case.

Yin Shiyu simply didn’t like looking at information slips. In the interstellar era, logistics were fast; as long as the two of them confirmed the address was correct, it would arrive in the other person’s hands in no time.

“Shiyu,” Chen Yanjing said, “I don’t know why, but I have a feeling something’s going to happen.”

Yin Shiyu said, “I think it’s quite strange too.”

“Don’t think about it now. What’s your research topic this semester?” Chen Yanjing asked him.

“No ideas for now. Aren’t our two patents enough for a lifetime of wealth and luxury?” Yin Shiyu joked with him.

Chen Yanjing laughed: “True.”

Rather than studying at Yanming, it was more like they were just looking for a convenient place for their research.

Yanming had extremely advanced research equipment, and Chen Yanjing and Yin Shiyu had similar interests, and they didn’t care much about gains or losses, so they could become extremely compatible partners.

“It’s all done,” Yin Shiyu said. “Let’s go back tomorrow.”

“Okay.”

A few minutes later, they arrived at the ancient battlefield.

Before the interstellar era began, there was a lot of resource plundering between planets, and countless wars, large and small, broke out.

On the planets today, traces of history can still be seen.

“Actually, I think there are similarities between the weapons of the old era and those of today,” Yin Shiyu commented. Chen

Yanjing nodded: “There are many differences, so there are bound to be similarities, that’s normal.”

Yin Shiyu laughed: “That’s like saying nothing.”

Chen Yanjing didn’t say much more. Often, when the two of them felt bored, they liked to go to various places to find inspiration.

Yin Shiyu really liked this state, because it gave him a lot of freedom.

He enjoyed being able to research things on his own without anyone saying anything to him.

Research was his own business; if he could research food, then it was meaningful, and if not, that was still his own business.

“We can go back now, I don’t have any inspiration,” Yin Shiyu said.

Chen Yanjing nodded. He had come with Yin Shiyu and had no particular plans. He wasn’t interested in anything

else, let alone anything else.

It was only because Yin Shiyu seemed to be in a bad state that Chen Yanjing hadn’t come out at all.

“Actually, I think we could try a different approach,”

Chen Yanjing said, immediately drawing Yin Shiyu’s attention. “What do you mean?”

Chen Yanjing said, “You haven’t been so insistent on getting experimental results for a long time, nor have you said anything about finding a research direction. This sudden insistence, is it because…?”

He didn’t speak, remaining silent.

But this ending gave Yin Shiyu room to think.

“Kurukawa Itsuki?”

Chen Yanjing glanced at him, then asked, “Was that your subconscious answer just now?”

Yin Shiyu nodded: “But it’s strange.”

Chen Yanjing felt the same way. As everyone knows, Alphas are very prone to hostility towards their own kind, and such feelings are almost unheard of.

Even though Kurukawa Itsuki is undeniably handsome, he is also a universally acknowledged very charming Alpha.

So, from any perspective, Yin Shiyu’s current reaction is very strange.

“Even if you want to engage in some kind of AA relationship, you should at least consider what the locals mean, right?”

Yin Shiyu glanced at him, then said, “I didn’t intend to.”

“Don’t you feel guilty saying that?”
