Yu Tang’s face instantly paled, her lips trembling as she struggled to speak, tears streaming down her cheeks.

Yu Minwu’s eyes immediately turned fierce: “Yu Sanqi, don’t push your luck. Are you happy dragging the entire family down with you?”

Yu Sanqi remained smiling, her fingers tracing the bruises on her neck. “How could I? If Second Brother kneels and apologizes to me, Fourth Sister won’t have to shave her head and become a nun. That would make me even happier.”Full novel: The Commandery Princess Is Wed with a Ghostly Procession; Does the Young General Dare to Marry Her? — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Second Brother cares so much for Fourth Sister. It’s just kneeling—I’m sure you’re willing, right?”

Yu Minwu’s face flushed crimson in an instant.

Yu Minwen stared at Yu Sanqi with a look of utter disappointment: “Third Sister, must you go this far?”

Yu Sanqi’s smile turned cold and detached: “Does Eldest Brother want to kneel together? That’s fine too. I can handle it.”

Yu Minwen’s hand trembled, and he immediately let go.

Yu Sanqi lowered her gaze.

Her eyes were filled with mockery. Even among themselves, this family was nothing but dogs biting dogs.

Yu Minwen remained silent for a long time. Finally, gritting his teeth, Yu Minwu knelt. “Are you satisfied now? Third Sister, know when to stop and hurry up to receive the imperial decree!”

Yu Sanqi lowered her gaze.

The Yu Family stared at her intently, their eyes filled with humiliation, resentment, and disgust—everything but remorse.

Who said that when someone dies, the living would inevitably feel guilt, regret, or a sudden awakening?

No!

They would only resent her for not dying later, preventing them from enjoying the wealth and glory stained with her blood!

They would only resent her for causing trouble for the family even in death!

When she died, they resented her!

When she lived, they still resented her!

Yu Sanqi was supposed to be like an old ox in the fields, a camel crushed by straw—whether alive or dead, she had to bend to the will of the Yu Family!

But why should she?

Just because they lowered their heads, she had to forgive?

As if the knives that once pierced her body and the straws that crushed her no longer existed?

Moreover, even their lowered heads were insincere.

Yu Sanqi let out a soft, scornful laugh, her words chillingly clear: “I will never forgive!”

She had returned from the dead not to play the role of a loving family with them!

She wanted knives and axes to carve into their flesh, to shatter their family’s glory in an instant, to leave them living in darkness, their future cut off, with only endless pain and countless sins falling upon their own heads.

Only then would these people understand what it meant to have no path to repentance!

Yu Sanqi’s refusal to forgive caused the Yu Family’s expressions to change in unison.

Yu Minwu sprang to his feet, his eyes wide with fury: “Yu Sanqi, are you deliberately humiliating me?!”

His red-eyed glare was like that of a man-eating beast, his fists clenched as if he were about to strike Yu Sanqi dead the next moment.

A wisp of Gui Qi emerged from the girl’s pitch-black pupils, invisible to ordinary people. A black swamp spread from beneath her feet, the Gui Qi-formed mire already ensnaring the Yu Family.

She could kill them at any moment, easier than crushing an ant.

Suddenly, warmth enveloped Yu Sanqi. She saw a fist strike from behind her, landing squarely on Yu Minwu’s face.

Yu Minwu let out a scream, clutching his nose as he staggered backward. Yu Minwen failed to catch him, and Liu Shi and Yu Tang behind him were dragged down, tumbling to the ground.

Amid the chaos, Yu Sanqi paid no attention to their disarray. In her ears were the strong, steady heartbeat of the young general and his hurried breaths.

He held her tightly, his hands trembling slightly, as if embracing a treasure lost and found.

His cloak wrapped her completely, leaving no gap.

The black fox fur brushed against her face, carrying his scorching body heat. Yu Sanqi looked up to meet Yan Du’s descending gaze.

He was breathtakingly handsome, a man like cold jade, whose beauty did not diminish his martial prowess, noble yet not ethereal. The color of his eyes was very light, very clear—pure and blazing, much like himself.

“Yu Sanqi,” he softly called her name.

“Welcome back.”

Back to this mortal world.
