The words “with myself” didn’t come from Yun Li’s mouth. Instead, Ding Zhen blurted them out in a moment of excitement.

Yun Li and Fu Qingheng both looked at him simultaneously. Realizing he’d said the wrong thing, Ding Zhen gave an awkward smile. “Haha, I was just talking nonsense. You two continue. Pretend I farted!”Full novel: The Darling Little Fox Turns 300 — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

He looked at the two of them expectantly, practically wishing he could grab a sofa, brew some tea, and watch the drama unfold.

This was just too thrilling.

“With myself”?

Yun Li silently murmured the phrase. She recalled her teacher mentioning this idiom in class—it was something you said to someone you liked.

She had also secretly read her mother’s romance novels. Usually, it was when a girl wanted to spend her life with someone that she would say “I give myself to you.”

She quite liked the idea of this man becoming her “poop scooper” and wanted to stay at his place for a while.

Yun Li thought it over and said earnestly, “I’m willing to give myself to you!”

Fu Qingheng: “…”

Fu Qingheng had come over simply to figure out who she was and why she resembled the little girl from his dreams.

But when it was time to leave, he somehow ended up bringing her home.

When Yun Li sincerely uttered those words—”I’m willing to give myself to you”—Fu Qingheng’s first reaction was to refuse.

But before the words left his mouth, he looked at her expectant eyes, and his throat felt as if it were stuffed with cotton. The words just wouldn’t come out.

And just like that, he brought Yun Li home.

Inside the car, Yun Li sat beside Fu Qingheng, turning her head to look out the window.

The rows of trees on either side of the road flew backward in a blur. Yun Li pressed her face against the window, gazing at the scene with wonder.

This car was even faster than Qing Ling flying!

When she gets back home, she’d have to get a car for Qing Ling too, so he wouldn’t have to fly everywhere himself.

Fu Qingheng had been observing Yun Li the whole time. Seeing the look of naive wonder on the young girl’s face as if she’d never seen the world before, practically ready to climb out the window, he gave a light cough to draw her attention back.

Yun Li turned to look at Fu Qingheng. “Oh, by the way, I don’t even know your name yet. What are you called?”

The young girl’s voice was soft and sweet. She smiled faintly, revealing her dimples.

After all, this person was going to be her future “poop scooper.” She ought to at least know his name. She couldn’t just keep calling him “poop scooper” to his face.

“Fu Qingheng.”

“Fu Qingheng? That name sounds so complicated!” Yun Li frowned and muttered softly.

Fu Qingheng didn’t catch it. “What did you say?”

Yun Li quickly shook her head. “Then can I call you Brother Fu?”

Brother Fu!

The tone, the smile—almost exactly the same as in his dream. Fu Qingheng’s heart tightened, and without thinking, he said, “No!”

His voice was so loud that it startled Yun Li.

“Fine, don’t then. No need to be so fierce about it!”

She didn’t take his refusal to heart and asked again, “Then what should I call you?”

If he couldn’t decide, she’d just have to call him “poop scooper.”

Fu Qingheng also realized his tone had been overly agitated. He looked at Yun Li with a complicated expression. Was she or wasn’t she the little girl from his dreams?

If she was, why did he keep dreaming about her?

His thoughts were a mess. Fu Qingheng didn’t have the energy to dwell on it. After a long silence, he said, “Suit yourself.”

Yun Li: … First “no,” then “suit yourself.”

What was she supposed to call him?

Yun Li tentatively said, “Brother Fu?” She saw him look up at her with that complicated expression, but he didn’t forbid it.

“Then I’ll call you Brother Fu from now on.”

One “Brother Fu” after another rang in his ears, and Fu Qingheng’s heart grew more and more chaotic.

Half an hour later, the butler was surprised to see Fu Qingheng’s car suddenly return.

It was unusual. Fu Qingheng had been very busy lately and rarely came home before dark.

It was just past noon. Why was he back already?

Had he left an important document at home?

Yang Qing hurried over. As the car door opened, he was about to address him as “Young Master” when he looked down and saw the young girl inside. His pupils dilated in shock, and his jaw nearly dropped.

Who was this girl?

For a moment, he forgot to speak and just stood there dumbfounded, watching Yun Li step out of the car.

Yun Li was extremely curious about the human world and kept looking around everywhere.

Now, seeing her “poop scooper’s” home, even more luxurious and beautiful than her own, she felt thoroughly satisfied.

She really hadn’t chosen the wrong poop scooper. Brother Fu was truly wealthy.

Fu Qingheng got out from the other side of the car and watched Yun Li, who was gazing in every direction, as she quickly walked toward the house.

Yun Li extended her hand, flashed a sweet smile, and greeted Yang Qing warmly, “Hello!”

Then, taking small steps, she followed Fu Qingheng into the house, offering a sincere and heartfelt compliment: “Brother Fu, your home is so big and so beautiful!”

Only after the two had entered the house did the stunned Yang Qing snap back to reality.

He instinctively looked for the pair, but Guo Ziyang stood in front of him, blocking his view. “Stop looking. They’ve already gone inside!”

Guo Ziyang was both Fu Qingheng’s secretary and Yang Qing’s adopted son.

“What’s going on here? How did you go out and come back with a young girl? Who is she?”

The young girl was quite pretty, with a sweet smile that made her instantly likeable.

“She’s the one the driver hit last night. But she has amnesia and can’t remember her family, so President Fu brought her home.”

“It’s her?” Yang Qing was shocked. “She doesn’t look like someone who’s been hit by a car.”

Guo Ziyang wasn’t sure either. “Maybe she got lucky. No major injuries, just amnesia.”

“And that’s all?”

Guo Ziyang looked at him, confused. “What else would there be?”

“I’m asking you, why did the young master bring her home? Do you think he’s a philanthropist?”

This wasn’t Yang Qing trying to mock Fu Qingheng. Rather, Yang Qing had watched Fu Qingheng grow up and knew his temperament better than anyone.

He wouldn’t bring someone home just because she had amnesia. There had to be another reason.

Yang Qing quickly went inside to see what was really going on.

The moment he entered, he heard the young girl say earnestly to Fu Qingheng: “Brother Fu, don’t worry. Since I’ve agreed to give myself to you, I won’t go back on my word!”

Yang Qing was so shocked by Yun Li’s words that he could barely stand. Fortunately, Guo Ziyang caught him just in time.

The old man pointed at the two of them, trembling with excitement. “Th-they’ve already pledged themselves to each other?”

No wonder Fu Qingheng had brought her home. It turned out he’d taken a liking to her.

Although Guo Ziyang had been present at the time, he was also a bit puzzled about how the two had ended up making such a pledge. But under Yang Qing’s gaze, he nodded. “Something like that.”

“Th-this, this, this…” Yang Qing was too worked up to speak.

The Fu family would finally have an heir!

Yang Qing’s exclamation about the “pledge” was so loud that Fu Qingheng couldn’t possibly not hear it.

His face darkened, and he clarified, “Uncle Yang, you’ve misunderstood. We haven’t pledged ourselves to each other.”

He had only brought her back because he was curious about her identity.

Once he figured things out, he would make this woman leave.

Yun Li nodded seriously. “That’s right. We haven’t pledged ourselves to each other. I’m the one giving myself to Brother Fu.”

Since she had chosen Brother Fu as her poop scooper, she would treat him well.

“And isn’t ‘giving yourself to him’ the same as a pledge?” Yang Qing asked.

Did they think he was some uneducated old man?

Fu Qingheng’s face turned livid. He turned to look at Yun Li and said through gritted teeth, “I don’t need you to give yourself to me!”

Yun Li was horrified. Her watery eyes looked up at him. “Brother Fu, are you going to abandon me?”

She immediately panicked and nervously grabbed Fu Qingheng’s sleeve. “I won’t eat very much. Please don’t abandon me!”

She’d just have to restrain herself from now on—maybe just one chicken leg per meal.

She’d finally managed to pick a wealthy poop scooper, and before she could even get a meal out of it, it was slipping away.

This was so distressing for a fox!

If she’d known, she would have chosen the other one as her poop scooper.

But that one had been wearing white—he clearly didn’t look rich.

Sigh!

Yun Li sighed mournfully. In order to make Fu Qingheng keep her, she quickly racked her brain for her strengths. “I can catch fish.”

She was really good at catching fish—it was what she was most proud of.

But Fu Qingheng directly refused her. “No need.”

He didn’t want her to catch fish either?

Yun Li felt as if she’d been struck by lightning and took a few steps back. It seemed Brother Fu was determined to drive her away.

What was she going to do?

In her panic, Yun Li thought of another method Lailai had taught her. She looked up at Fu Qingheng tentatively. “Well, if not that, I could also be your pet!”

Lailai had said that most humans really liked fluffy animals, like kittens and puppies.

Even though she was a little fox, she was also fluffy and felt especially nice to touch. Besides, she was the prettiest little fox in her entire family!

Fu Qingheng lowered his gaze upon hearing this, his eyes landing on Yun Li’s face. She didn’t look like she was joking.

She was a human being—how could she say something like becoming someone’s pet?

“Absolutely not!”

Yun Li deflated even more. She drooped her little head, her non-existent tail swaying dejectedly. She felt utterly disappointed.

It looked like she’d have to sleep outside tonight. She really hoped it wouldn’t rain again.

Fu Qingheng saw her about to leave and called out to her instinctively. “Where are you going?”

Yun Li was too caught up in her own misery to pay attention to his words, already thinking about which tree branch she should sleep on tonight.

Were this woman’s ears just for decoration?

Fu Qingheng closed the distance in a few steps and grabbed her elbow. Yun Li, caught off guard, was yanked back.

Yun Li looked up at him with a blank expression, clearly not having heard him. He repeated himself. “Where are you going!”

“Huh?”

Why was Brother Fu being so fierce again?

Yun Li asked, confused, “Aren’t you telling me to leave?”

Fu Qingheng was truly speechless. “When did I ever say that?”

She didn’t want him to accept herself, and she didn’t want to be his pet—wasn’t that the same as telling her to leave?

She wasn’t stupid; she could read between the lines.

Fu Qingheng was genuinely annoyed by Yun Li. She had completely misunderstood him, yet she put on that pitiful, wronged look as if he were the one bullying her.

He took a deep breath. “You can stay here. You don’t have to leave.”

“Really?”

Hearing this, Yun Li’s dejected little face immediately lit up with a smile. “So that means I can still give myself to you, right?”

“Do you even know what ‘giving yourself to someone’ actually means?”
