Yu Jin struggled to tear his gaze away. He swallowed with difficulty and looked at Bai Lan.
“Mother, where did we get this white rice?”
This was white rice!
Even back when times were prosperous, their family had never been able to afford it!
Bai Lan had no intention of hiding the matter. Sooner or later, the Yu family would have to know about these things. As for where the rice came from, there was no way Bai Lan could tell them.
So Bai Lan put on a stern face.
“Why do you care where it came from? It’s already good enough that I’m letting you eat it!”
Yu Lan’s eyes sparkled. He secretly glanced at Yu Yangyang, his gaze filled with admiration.
Deep down, Yu Lan had a feeling that all these good things—including the brown rice and sweet potatoes from before—had definitely been produced by his elder sister!
His elder sister knew magic!
His elder sister was a little fairy!
This was the secret between him and his elder sister. He absolutely wouldn’t tell his big brother or second brother!
Yu Yan stared at the pot of white rice, a thoughtful look flashing through his eyes. Something seemed to surface in his mind, but just when he was about to grasp it, it disappeared again.
Yu Shanghua couldn’t be bothered to think about it. As long as there was food to eat, that was enough. Since his wife didn’t want him asking questions, he simply wouldn’t ask.
Yu Jin was filled with doubts. In the end, he could only attribute the rice to Yu Rongrong secretly giving it to their family.
But…
Yu Jin frowned.
This was rice.
Could Rongrong really have that much ability?
After eating, Yu Yangyang finally remembered the system.
She leaned against the trunk of a tree. Its thick branches blocked out the sunlight, casting a large patch of shade.
Yu Yangyang closed her eyes and entered the system.
She opened the mission panel, and after refreshing the tasks, she realized that she had unknowingly completed several more missions.
The system’s notification sounds rang one after another.
【Congratulations, Host, you have completed the mission: Complete 3/3 entries in the Food Encyclopedia. You have received 20 points and one Mission Gift Pack, which has been stored in the system space.】
【Congratulations, Host, you have completed the mission: Receive sincere praise from your family. You have received one Mission Gift Pack, which has been stored in the system space.】

【Side Mission: Learn one skill. (Completed.)】
【Congratulations, Host, you have completed the Side Mission: Learn one skill. You have received one Side Mission Gift Pack, which has been stored in the system space.】
【Current side mission refreshed: Use the skill.】
Well, this was basically a chain of missions within missions.
Yu Yangyang had originally thought that she was completing the missions rather slowly. She hadn’t expected to suddenly receive so many gift packs.
Aside from completing the Food Encyclopedia, which she had accomplished over the past two days, the others had actually been completed earlier.
Yu Yangyang carefully examined her current missions and frowned slightly.
First was the requirement to use a skill.
That should refer to the basic medical knowledge she had learned.
She had checked Bai Lan’s pulse the previous night, but the mission hadn’t registered as complete.
It seemed that she had to go through the entire process—taking a pulse, diagnosing an illness, treating the patient, and prescribing medicine—before it would count.
The problem was that she was still only a half-trained doctor, and she hadn’t encountered anyone who needed treatment yet.
As for earning silver, Yu Yangyang already had an idea.
She could simply sell food like she had the previous night.
The prerequisite was finding the right person.
Whatever. Next came the enjoyable part—opening her packages.
Yu Yangyang couldn’t help rubbing her hands together excitedly.
She opened five gift packs at once.
【Successfully opened one Mission Gift Pack. Even Yu Yangyang, who was usually calm, became somewhat excited.
Was this what people called getting rich overnight?
With this much grain, forget about having enough to reach Shuntian Prefecture—they could probably eat for an entire year and still have plenty left.
Her points had also suddenly skyrocketed.
Yu Yangyang immediately began thinking about all the dazzling products in the system shop.
After thinking about it for a moment, she guessed that this had a lot to do with the hidden mission.
The key to getting rich was the Hidden Gift Pack.
She was already looking forward to the next hidden mission.
Hopefully, it wouldn’t involve the male or female protagonists.
【A learnable skill has been detected: Intermediate Traditional Chinese Medicine (Unique). Would you like to learn it?】
Yu Yangyang selected Yes.
The same unbearable headache she had experienced before struck again.
When Yu Yangyang opened her eyes, she wiped the sweat from her forehead.
Now, as soon as she encountered a patient, she would be able to complete her side mission.
【Severe lack of storage space detected. Would you like to spend 2,000 points to upgrade the space to Level 3?】
Yu Yangyang: “…”
She rubbed her temples and once again selected Yes.
【Congratulations, Host. Space successfully upgraded. Current space: Level 3. Area ×100. Farming Space unlocked. Next level requires 5,000 points. You have received one Farming Gift Pack, which has been stored in the system space.】
With an area of 100 square meters, Yu Yangyang’s system space had become considerably larger.
She wouldn’t have to worry about storage for quite some time.
What surprised her was the mention of a Farming Space.
With a thought, Yu Yangyang suddenly felt herself enter an entirely new world.
The sky was gray and hazy, seemingly obscured by thick clouds and mist. She couldn’t see very far.
As far as the eye could see was a barren stretch of land, a house, a dead tree, and a dried-up spring.
The entire area was approximately 100 square meters.
Several animals wandered aimlessly across the flat ground.
There were exactly six chickens, five ducks, and two rabbits hopping around.
Beyond the 100-square-meter area, everything was concealed by thick fog, making it impossible to see what lay beyond.
Yu Yangyang entered the house.
Inside were all her stored provisions.
Rice, millet, corn, and sweet potatoes were neatly piled up, while large iron barrels filled with water stood beside them.
They were enormous and contained more than enough water for her current needs.
The system’s voice sounded again.
【Congratulations, Host, on obtaining the Farming Space. You have been awarded 2,000 points. Please farm diligently and continue exploring the space to obtain even more generous rewards.】
Yu Yangyang was delighted.
The Farming Space was extraordinarily useful to her.
The chickens, ducks, and rabbits could reproduce. The grains could be planted.
Even if the missions became increasingly difficult to complete later, she would no longer have to worry about running out of food.
Yu Yangyang quickly regained her composure and opened the Farming Gift Pack first.
【Successfully opened one Farming Gift Pack. Obtained: Rice ×200, Millet ×200… Chickens, Ducks, and Rabbits ×5, Pear Seedlings ×5, Apple Seedlings ×5, Points ×1,000. All items have been stored in the Farming Space.】
【Current inventory: Points ×7,325; Rice ×410; Millet ×420; Sweet Potatoes ×1,500… Total space: 100 square meters.】
Yu Yangyang watched as additional chickens, ducks, and rabbits appeared, along with more grain and fruit seedlings inside the house.
Her mood improved considerably.
She studied the new space for a while and eventually discovered that she could manipulate everything simply through her thoughts.
She quickly began planting.
Wheat had to be planted first. Wheat was one of the most widely consumed grains circulating throughout the Great Yue Dynasty.
She had also bought millet seeds earlier and planted rice.
She planted sweet potatoes and corn as well.
The less-than-50-square-meter plot of farmland was soon packed completely.
Finally, she planted the fruit seedlings she had received around the edges of the farmland.
Only then did Yu Yangyang withdraw her consciousness from the space.
