The next morning…

Sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the Watson mansion.

Today…

Jay was finally going back to college.

Inside her walk-in closet…

Jay stood in front of the mirror.

Instead of her usual kurti, she chose a classy, elegant outfit.

An oversized crisp white shirt, neatly tucked into high-waisted black wide-leg pants.

The sleeves were folded just above her wrists.

Around her wrist rested a simple golden watch.

Small gold hoop earrings sparkled whenever she moved.

Her white sneakers completed the look.

Her long curls flowed freely over her shoulders.

She applied only a little lip gloss and brushed her lashes.

Simple.

Elegant.

Effortlessly beautiful.

She smiled at her reflection.

“Perfect.”

Downstairs…

The staff had already gathered.

The moment Jay walked down the grand staircase…

Everyone looked up.

Silence.

One maid whispered,

“…Mrs.

Watson…”

Another smiled.

“She looks so beautiful.”

Even the bodyguards couldn’t hide their surprise.

Felix blinked twice.

“…Wow.”

Jay laughed.

“What?”

Felix shook his head.

“Nothing.”

“It’s just…”

“You look like you walked straight out of a fashion magazine.”

Jay smiled.

“I’ll take that as a compliment.”

At that exact moment…

Keifer walked into the foyer while adjusting the cuffs of his black suit.

He was about to leave for the office.

Then…

He looked up.

And froze.

Jay stood at the bottom of the staircase.

The white shirt contrasted perfectly with her black trousers.

The golden watch caught the morning sunlight.

The small earrings framed her face.

Her loose curls moved gently as she walked.

She looked…

Stunning.

For a brief second…

Keifer simply stared.

Felix noticed immediately.

“Sir has stopped walking.”

The maids exchanged knowing smiles.

Jay walked over.

“Good morning.”

Keifer didn’t answer.

He was still looking at her.

Jay waved a hand in front of his face.

“Hello?”

Felix coughed loudly.

“Sir.”

Keifer blinked.

“…Hmm?”

Jay smiled teasingly.

“Were you listening?”

“No.”

“I noticed.”

She spun around once.

“How do I look?”

He looked away for a moment before answering.

“…Fine.”

Felix almost laughed.

“Fine?”

“Sir, she looks breathtaking.”

Jay pouted.

“Just…

fine?”

Keifer adjusted his tie.

“…You’re dressed appropriately.”

Felix muttered under his breath,

“He’s lying.”

Jay folded her arms.

“I spent an hour getting ready.”

“For ‘appropriately’?”

Keifer finally met her eyes.

His voice was calm.

“…You look beautiful.”

The foyer fell silent.

Jay blinked.

She hadn’t expected that.

A smile slowly spread across her face.

“Thank you.”

As they stepped outside…

A black luxury SUV waited at the entrance.

Jay frowned.

“Why is there another car?”

Keifer opened the passenger door for her.

“You’re not taking a taxi.”

“I can go with Freya.”

“No.”

“I can drive myself.”

“No.”

She sighed.

“So…

security?”

“Two vehicles.”

Jay’s eyes widened.

“Two?”

“For college?”

Keifer nodded.

“One in front.”

“One behind.”

She looked at him in disbelief.

“I’m going to class…”

“…not attending a presidential meeting.”

Keifer remained serious.

“My answer is still the same.”

She groaned dramatically.

“My friends are going to laugh at me.”

“They’ll get over it.”

Felix smiled.

“Sir has already informed the university security.”

Jay looked at Keifer.

“You did what?”

“I also arranged for two female security officers to stay nearby.”

She stared at him.

“…You’re unbelievable.”

He simply shrugged.

“I promised you could go.”

“I never promised I’d stop protecting you.”

Jay sighed before climbing into the SUV.

As the car pulled away, she looked back through the window.

Keifer was still standing at the mansion entrance, watching until the vehicle disappeared from sight.

Felix stepped beside him with a grin.

“You only said she looked ‘beautiful.'”

Keifer glanced at him.

“…And?”

Felix chuckled.

“What you meant was…”

“…’Don’t let anyone look at my wife.'”

Keifer didn’t deny it.

He simply got into his own car.

But as they drove away…

His thoughts remained with the girl in the white shirt, black pants, golden watch, and tiny gold earrings who had somehow become the most distracting part of his day.
