Luo Qingwu was utterly arrogant, showing no respect for him as an elder, and she even dared to covet the position of family head. How could he possibly let her live? This time, he was determined.

Luo Qingwu must die!

What he hadn’t expected was that the Night King would actually assign his personal guards to protect her. Now, it probably wouldn’t be so easy to succeed.Full novel: The Divine Doctor and her Demonic Consort — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

…

Back courtyard.

“Miss, it’s my fault for being useless. I couldn’t get the things back.” Chun Tao was full of apologies when she saw Luo Qingwu return.

Luo Qingwu sneered inwardly. She had long anticipated this, just as she had guessed that someone would try to kill her on her way back from the Night King’s residence.

That was why she had asked Di Moye for people.

Although those men had taken poison and died, she had already guessed who had sent them.

“Grab your tools and come with me,” Luo Qingwu said with a domineering and cold expression.

Chun Tao was full of confusion??

Ji Yuan’s face darkened, and he glanced sideways at Luo Qingwu. What did she plan to do?

He had just been assigned to protect her today when an assassination attempt occurred. It was clear that those people weren’t targeting her because she was treating his master.

Had she already foreseen that her life was in danger and deliberately asked his master for protection?

The outside world spread rumors that she was a useless fool, but where was the foolishness in her?

…

Yulan Courtyard.

“Xueluan, this is the best Jade Skin Ointment. If you use it, there won’t be any scars left on your face or body.” Madam Liu handed her an exquisite jar of ointment.

Luo Xueluan quickly took it, her face filled with joy. For the past few days, she hadn’t dared to go out, afraid that others would see her face.

Just as she finished applying the ointment.

Bang—

A loud crash.

The door to the room was violently kicked open from the outside.

Madam Liu and Luo Xueluan jumped up from their chairs in shock and saw Luo Qingwu stride in aggressively, followed by Chun Tao and an unfamiliar man in black.

All three of them were holding sticks, looking as if they were about to rob the place.

“Truly a useless fool with no upbringing, completely ignorant of manners. Don’t you know how to knock?” Madam Liu scolded coldly, her face stern.

Luo Qingwu smiled, noble yet icy, and said arrogantly, “Today, I’ll let you see what it truly means to be ignorant of manners.”

As soon as she finished speaking, the stick in her hand moved.

Crash—

An exquisite, high-quality white jade porcelain vase shattered into pieces.

Then the second, the third…

Chun Tao and Ji Yuan also joined the fight, smashing everything in the room that could be broken.

The servants outside didn’t dare to enter, and someone immediately ran to the main hall.

Madam Liu was stunned. By the time she regained her senses, she felt a sharp pain in her chest, her eyes rolled back, and she nearly fainted.

“Mother!” Luo Xueluan hurriedly supported her, then roared at Luo Qingwu, “You useless fool, stop! Stop right now!”

Luo Qingwu paid her no mind. Only after everything in the room that could be smashed was broken did she finally stop, feeling satisfied.

Looking at the mess on the floor, she was particularly pleased.

Those who made her suffer shouldn’t expect to have it easy either!

Madam Liu stared at the shattered fragments on the floor, her heart bleeding. Finally, she collapsed to the ground, heartbroken and furious, cursing loudly.

Her treasures, oh, her treasures!

Moments later.

Footsteps echoed from outside the courtyard, and soon, Luo Haixuan, his son, and six elders all walked in.

When Luo Haixuan saw the scene inside the room, he nearly lost his breath, his head throbbing with pain. All those high-quality porcelain ornaments had been smashed.

The six elders were dumbfounded. The room looked as if it had been ransacked by bandits, utterly chaotic.

Was this all done by Luo Qingwu?

"Waste, I'll kill you!" Luo Zhao's icy pupils blazed with towering fury as he raised his sword, murderous intent radiating from him as he lunged at Luo Qingwu.

Clang—

The sharp, piercing sound of metal clashing rang out.

Luo Zhao only felt a sharp pain in the tiger's mouth of his right hand holding the sword, and then the weapon clattered to the ground.

"The master has given orders—no one is to touch Miss Luo." Ji Yuan's brows were etched with ferocity, a dense aura of killing intent swirling around him.

Luo Zhao nearly ground his teeth to dust in rage, only able to glare hatefully at Luo Qingwu. In just two short days, she had truly climbed onto that lofty branch—the Night King.

"Luo Qingwu, who gave you permission to come here and smash things?" Luo Haixuan's face was livid as he spoke sternly, looking at the shattered fragments littering the floor, feeling as though he might cough up three liters of blood.

Luo Qingwu rested the stick on her shoulder, her expression cocky, defiant, and utterly infuriating.

"The bronze kiln, Luoyang red, phoenix cup, sacred glass vase, frost-green vase, and all the others—which of these didn't belong to my mother? What's wrong with me smashing my own things?"

Luo Qingwu lifted her delicate chin defiantly, speaking with righteous conviction, her heart filled with contempt for the second branch of the family.

Greedy, shameless, and utterly without face.

"You're talking nonsense!" Madam Liu shrieked angrily.

Luo Qingwu strode toward her step by step, the stick in her hand striking a red-and-green vase on the shelf behind her with swift, precise, and ruthless force, shattering it to pieces.

Madam Liu and Luo Xueluan screamed as they dodged, but fragments still flew and struck them, causing sharp stings of pain.

"These were the dowry my mother brought into the Luo family herself. She's only been missing for ten years, and you, the second branch, have secretly taken possession of them. Have you no shame?"

Luo Qingwu's eyes seemed frosted over with cold, a mocking smile curling at the corners of her lips.

The six elders were inwardly astonished. They usually only concerned themselves with clan affairs and never interfered in the internal matters of the Luo household.

"You're slandering me! These are all my dowry!" Madam Liu roared, her face twisted with rage, trembling all over in anger, yet also feeling a twinge of fear.

Luo Qingwu rolled her eyes in exasperation and sneered, "Whether it's your dowry or not will be clear once my mother returns."

Madam Liu felt a flicker of panic. These items were indeed not her dowry.

But then she thought: the first branch had been missing for ten years; they couldn't possibly still be alive. Dead men tell no tales.

"Who knows if your mother will ever return? Today, you smashed everything in this room and must be punished," Madam Liu declared with forced bravado.

"The one who should be punished is you," Luo Qingwu retorted, her gaze sharp as it swept over her.

Madam Liu stood up from the floor, protesting indignantly, "Why should I be punished?"

Clearly, it was Luo Qingwu who was arrogant and overbearing, pushing others too far.

"As the legitimate daughter of the Luo family, I wear plain cloth, while Luo Xueluan and Luo Zhao wear fine silk. My courtyard has nothing, while theirs is filled with everything. Is this how you manage the household?" Luo Qingwu's voice was as cold as ice, each word dripping with frost.

Her grandfather had wanted to give her better things, but under the threats of Madam Liu and her daughter, she could only say she preferred plain clothes.

Madam Liu felt a pang of guilt but feigned confidence, saying, "You were the one who refused. How can you slander me like this?"

Luo Qingwu stared at her with a half-smile, her dark, bright eyes filled with disdain and a meaningful depth.

Meeting her gaze, Madam Liu felt a chill run down her spine, her back turning cold.

"You're nothing but a waste who only brings shame to the Luo family. What right do you have to enjoy anything?" Luo Zhao declared with righteous indignation.

Had she grown a bear's heart and a leopard's gall?

How dare she resist these past two days!

Luo Qingwu cast a cold glance at him, then turned her fierce and sharp gaze toward Madam Liu.

"You have two days to prepare everything I need to eat, wear, and use. Otherwise, I don't know what I might do."

With these threatening words, she arrogantly walked away.
