Liu Heng was taken aback, not expecting her to come for the account books. But without Madam's orders, how could he dare to hand them over to her casually?

"What? Can't I have my mother's account books?" Luo Qingwu said, rising to her feet, her entire body radiating an intimidating and oppressive aura.

Liu Heng's expression shifted slightly, and he quickly replied, "No, no, it's just that retrieving the account books requires Madam's approval."Full novel: The Divine Doctor and her Demonic Consort — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

"Why does my mother's account books need her approval?" Luo Qingwu stood up, her face filled with hostility, her sharp gaze like daggers.

Under her stare, Liu Heng felt a chill run down his spine, trembling with fear as he stammered, "I, I… this is Madam's rule."

"Bring me all the account books now, immediately!" Luo Qingwu pulled out a dagger and stabbed it menacingly into the table.

"Eldest Miss…"

"I have no patience!" Luo Qingwu said coldly, her tone filled with threat.

Liu Heng couldn't help but tremble. In the end, he had no choice but to take out the key, open the cabinet, and bring out all the account books of the main household.

Luo Qingwu collected all the account books into the Shennong Space. "If there are any issues, feel free to have Second Madam come find me."

"Yes, yes, yes…" Liu Heng wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. After watching her leave, his legs gave way, and he slumped into a chair, panting heavily, filled with lingering fear.

Yulan Courtyard.

"What? She took all the account books?" Madam Liu was furious upon hearing the news, her face twisted with rage.

Liu Heng lowered his head cautiously and said, "Madam, I couldn't stop her. She said if there were any problems, you should go find her."

Bang—

Madam Liu swept the teacup off the table, her entire body seething with anger. Yesterday, she smashed the treasures in her room, and today she snatched the account books.

What was she trying to do?

"Mother, don't be angry. If she wants the account books, let her take them. After all, she doesn't understand them anyway," Luo Xueluan said with a light laugh.

Although the good-for-nothing attended classes with them, she was foolish and stupid, her mind filled only with thoughts of the Crown Prince. How could she have learned anything?

Even if the account books were placed right in front of her, she wouldn't be able to understand them.

Hearing this, Madam Liu's expression softened slightly, though her face remained tense as she said coldly, "She's not the same Luo Qingwu as before. Suddenly asking for the account books is definitely not a good sign."

She was worried that Luo Qingwu might uncover discrepancies in the account books.

The old master didn't manage the household, and everything in the rear courtyard was under her control. She could easily manipulate things, but if someone were to investigate carefully, the truth could still be exposed.

The smile vanished from Luo Xueluan's face, replaced by a serious expression. "Could it be that she plans to take back all the main household's properties and manage them herself?"

Madam Liu nodded. This was also her concern. She never expected Luo Qingwu to suddenly demand the account books, leaving her no time to prepare.

Immediately, she glared angrily at Liu Heng, wondering why he hadn't come to inform her first.

Now that the account books were in Luo Qingwu's hands, it was impossible to forcibly take them back.

"Mother, why not set her courtyard on fire tonight while she's asleep? That would burn the account books too. Then, even if she wanted to investigate, she wouldn't be able to," Luo Xueluan said, a hint of venom flashing in her eyes.

It would be best if Luo Qingwu burned to death along with them.

Madam Liu's eyes lit up, and she said seriously, "That method could work, but we must ensure it's foolproof, with no room for error."

Otherwise, there was no telling what Luo Qingwu might do, especially since she now seemed like a madwoman.

After these past few days, she no longer dared to underestimate her.

…

Luo Qingwu took out the account books. After just looking through two of them, she sensed something was off. The weather had been good these past two years, so her mother's estates should have yielded substantial profits, yet the accounts showed only a meager amount.

It was clear someone had tampered with them, skimming off a considerable sum.

It seemed the second branch of the family had been embezzling quite a bit over the years.

They had taken her mother's money and treated her so poorly—truly despicable!

After casually flipping through a few more ledgers, Luo Qingwu got up and headed to the Night King's residence. After all, treating his illness couldn't be delayed, even if the guy was a bit annoying.

Upon arriving at the manor, Luo Qingwu went straight to Di Moye's courtyard. Everyone in the manor knew she was treating him, so no one dared to stop her.

Just as she was about to push the door open—

"You can't go in!" Duan Linlang shouted. Her cousin was inside taking a medicinal bath. If Luo Qingwu entered, wouldn't she see his body?

Luo Qingwu ignored her, pushed the door open, stepped inside, and slammed it shut in one smooth motion.

Duan Linlang glared, fuming as she rushed over. She wanted to push the door open but didn't dare, fearing she'd be scolded.

Thinking she would soon hear Luo Qingwu being reprimanded, she gleefully pressed her ear against the door, listening intently.

Once inside, Luo Qingwu scanned the room and walked toward the screen.

A man sat bare-chested in a bathtub, medicinal herbs floating on the water's surface, with wisps of white steam rising around him.

"Di Moye."

Luo Qingwu didn't feel awkward. It was just a glimpse of his shoulders—nothing to be embarrassed about.

No one answered.

The man leaned quietly against the bathtub, his eyes tightly shut. His long eyelashes resembled two delicate fans, his handsome face pale, and his lips devoid of any color.

He looked utterly fragile.

Luo Qingwu quickly approached, reached into the water, and grabbed his right wrist to check his pulse. Her expression abruptly changed. Without hesitation, she took out her acupuncture needle case and began inserting needles.

Eighteen silver needles were inserted into Di Moye's head.

After a moment, his pale complexion flushed slightly, and beads of sweat the size of soybeans formed on his forehead.

"Hmm."

A low groan escaped him.

"Awake?" Luo Qingwu stood by the bathtub, smiling as she looked at him.

Di Moye's eyes snapped open, his dark pupils cold and icy, like death incarnate. Only upon seeing Luo Qingwu did the hostility around him gradually subside.

"Why are you here?" His voice was hoarse and weak.

Luo Qingwu sneered, "If I weren't here, your condition would have worsened again. Next time it flares up, the pain will kill you. Who told you to take a medicinal bath?"

Her tone grew angry toward the end.

"I take one every three days," Di Moye said, trying to move but finding himself unable.

"From now on, unless I arrange it, you are not to take any medicine or medicinal baths," Luo Qingwu declared domineeringly.

"…" Di Moye remained silent.

"Did you hear me?" Luo Qingwu reached out and poked his head.

Di Moye winced in pain, his gaze icy as he glared at her, gritting his teeth. "How dare you! Who allowed you to touch this prince?"

Luo Qingwu laughed in exasperation and snorted. "If it doesn't hurt, how will you remember? If you truly want to be cured, obey me obediently. Even if you don't want to, you have to!"

"…" Di Moye's handsome face darkened, clearly showing his extreme displeasure.

She was the first person who dared to speak to him like this.

She had better cure his illness, or he would find a way to deal with her.

Luo Qingwu was quite satisfied with his expression. You little rascal, I still have ways to handle you.

Seeing that it was about time, she removed all the silver needles from his head.

"Night King, would you like me to help you get dressed?" Luo Qingwu blinked at him, grinning like a rogue.

"Get out!" Di Moye roared with murderous rage.

Luo Qingwu raised an eyebrow and snorted lightly, "I'm not willing either. After you put on your clothes, lie down properly on the bed. I'll help massage your head."
