Willow bent down and scooped Lou Qingshuang up in her arms. Caught completely off guard, Lou Qingshuang gasped, “Put me down!”

“If you don’t want to draw a crowd, you’d better stop struggling, unless you want to make the front page tomorrow,” Willow whispered as she leaned in close. Scared into submission, Lou Qingshuang froze and hurriedly pulled Willow’s coat over her face to hide herself.

“Heh,” Willow chuckled softly at Lou Qingshuang’s ostrich like attempt to cover her eyes and pretend no one could see her. The rumble of her chest vibrated right through to Lou Qingshuang’s ear. The moment Lou Qingshuang grabbed Willow’s coat, she immediately regretted it, it was saturated with the scent of roses and burning wood.Full novel: The Domineering Older Man Snatches His Cold And Aloof Wife — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

As the two walked out of the bar’s main entrance, bodyguards carrying umbrellas immediately stepped forward to escort them safely into the car.

Lying in Willow’s arms, Lou Qingshuang listened to the pitter-patter of the pouring rain while mist soaked into her skin, leaving her damp and cold.

When Willow’s car pulled up, she carefully placed Lou Qingshuang into the back seat, gently pulled her coat back, smiled at her, closed the door, and then climbed in from the other side.

Watching this level of meticulous care, the owner of Super X Bar couldn’t help but marvel internally. The cold and unfeeling big boss, Willow, has actually fallen in love.

A workaholic is actually dating!

She kept this juicy secret quiet in her mind, not daring to gossip with anyone else. Since Boss Willow hadn’t made it public, she knew better than to go spreading rumors.

Willow sat inside, and the black Bentley glided as smoothly as a swimming fish into the dark, rainy night.

Lou Qingshuang sat in the car and murmured drunkenly, “Take me home.” She tried her best to maintain her composure, not wanting Willow to notice her vulnerability.

“Alright,” Willow replied, her lips curling into a smile as she watched her try so hard to act sober.

Neither of them spoke for the rest of the ride. Lou Qingshuang kept her eyes wide open, anxiously watching the direction the car was heading, while Willow sat in her seat, releasing just a tiny hint of her rose scent to soothe the heartbroken girl beside her.

Her pheromones blossomed quietly like roses, carrying the crisp chill of a glacier intertwined with a gentle warmth.

Pheromones could soothe a person’s emotions, but people rarely used them this way; everyone regarded their pheromones as an intensely private secret, shared only with their lovers.

Smelling the pheromones, the brow that Lou Qingshuang had knitted from alcohol induced discomfort gradually smoothed out. The refreshing scent brought her immense relief. She praised softly, “This perfume smells really good.”

Hearing this, Willow’s ears flushed red. She finally experienced the embarrassment of being unknowingly flirted with. She closed her eyes and remained silent.

Lou Qingshuang turned her head to look at Willow, who was resting with her eyes closed. She didn’t kick me while I was down today, nor did she take advantage of my vulnerability. Willow’s profile was very striking, with a high, straight nose bridge and long eyelashes that cast delicate shadows below. She was truly a unique person.

The black Bentley drove all the way into the underground garage of Lou Qingshuang’s apartment complex after the security guard let them through.

The bodyguard stepped out to open the door, and both Willow and Lou Qingshuang got out together. Watching Willow step out with her long legs, Lou Qingshuang’s heart skipped a beat. Willow wouldn’t be thinking of coming home with me, would she? She quickly said, “I can get home on my own.”

Willow raised an eyebrow and looked at the nervous Lou Qingshuang with a half-smile. “I’m going home, too.”

“Huh?” Lou Qingshuang looked at her in surprise. Willow didn’t say another word, simply tilting her chin toward her before taking the lead and walking ahead.

Lou Qingshuang ended up taking the same elevator as Willow, riding it up to the exact same floor.

At this point, how could Lou Qingshuang not understand? Willow had bought the apartment directly opposite hers.

Standing right across from Lou Qingshuang’s front door, Willow waved at her with an effortless, exuberant smile. “We have plenty of time ahead of us.”

Lou Qingshuang watched as Willow’s bodyguards went inside the apartment to check for safety. Resting her own finger against her smart lock, she helplessly unlocked her front door.

“Then please get a good rest,” Lou Qingshuang said, rubbing her heavy, dizzy head as she opened the door and stepped inside. Her ability to think clearly had dropped significantly.

Willow stood tall at her doorway, her long legs looking sleek and slender, as she watched Lou Qingshuang close the door.

“Director Willow, the inspection is complete,” Zhu Yan said as she walked up beside her.

“Thank you for your hard work. Go back and get some rest,” Willow said to Zhu Yan.

“Understood, goodbye Director Willow.” Zhu Yan nodded, bade her farewell, and then instructed the bodyguards to ensure Willow’s safety.

Willow walked inside her apartment and looked around. The layout was quite nice, and the decor suited her taste.

She had arranged to purchase and renovate this place ever since she found out Lou Qingshuang lived here.

Recalling the astonished look on Lou Qingshuang’s face, a delightful smile spread across Willow’s lips. What’s more, she didn’t seem to reject her pheromones at all. Thinking of this, Willow’s smile widened. “Does it smell good?”

Upon returning home, Lou Qingshuang immediately saw her mother leaning on the sofa, waiting for her.

“Mom, why didn’t you go sleep in your room?” Lou Qingshuang rushed over, crouched down, and took Shen Qiao’s hand, gently shaking her awake.

“Shuangshuang?” Shen Qiao opened her eyes and looked at her daughter. Seeing her flushed face and smelling the heavy alcohol on her, she looked at her with heartache, reaching up to touch her face. “Socializing again?”

Lou Qingshuang nodded, leaning into her mother’s embrace. “Mom, it’s so late. Why didn’t you sleep in your room?”

“Mom was worried about you. Did you and Yueyue break up? Did she do something to hurt you?” Shen Qiao cupped Lou Qingshuang’s face, asking gently and heartbrokenly.

Looking into her mother’s eyes, Lou Qingshuang couldn’t stop the tears from welling up and rolling down her cheeks. She whispered softly, “She betrayed me.”

Shen Qiao’s breathing caught, and her own eyes turned red with tears. She hadn’t expected this to be the truth.

“From now on, Mom will never let her set foot in this house again,” Shen Qiao promised, her own tears falling as she held her daughter’s face. She had known deep down that Shen Yue was unreliable; had she known earlier, she would have flatly refused to give her approval.

“It’s okay. I’ve already changed the door lock. She won’t ever be able to get in again,” Lou Qingshuang said, leaning her head against Shen Qiao’s lap.

Meanwhile, Shen Yue, who had not yet returned to the capital city, found herself face to face with Zhu Rui.

“You failed! What did you come back for?!” Zhu Rui grabbed an ashtray and hurled it directly at Shen Yue. “You can’t even control a single Omega, what good are you?!”

Shen Yue narrowed her eyes as she looked at the furious woman before her. She has grown old.

Wearing her glasses, Shen Yue’s gaze was sharp and cold. The fact that Zhu Rui lacked a proper heir had always been a thorn in her side.

Shen Yue was one of the chosen successors. Out of all her children, only two had amounted to anything, and Shen Yue was the most capable, as well as the most like her, because her heart was ruthless enough.

Zhu Rui watched Shen Yue turn to leave without a single shred of reluctance.

Zhu Rui stared sinisterly at her daughter’s retreating back. “It’s not as if you’re my only option,” Zhu Rui muttered under her breath.

Shen Yue left decisively. As long as Blue Silk didn’t follow Lou Qingshuang’s instructions, she would definitely follow through on her word.

If she leaked the video and submitted it as evidence, the good reputation Blue Silk had just managed to regain would be shattered instantly.

If she couldn’t have Blue Silk, destroying it wasn’t a bad alternative either.

Shen Yue stood at the entrance of Lou Qingshuang’s residential complex, but this time, she couldn’t get inside. She stood in the pouring rain for a long time, quietly staring up in the direction of Lou Qingshuang’s home.

“I’m sorry, Shuangshuang.” Shen Yue’s apology was shattered and swallowed up by the heavy rain.

Shen Yue pulled out her phone and looked at the last text message Lou Qingshuang had sent her:

【Shen Yue, we are completely over. Either do as I say, or wait to be sued.】

Looking at Lou Qingshuang’s harsh words, the corners of Shen Yue’s mouth pulled down slightly. Eventually, she got into her car and drove away.

Lou Qingshuang leaned back against the tatami mat by the window sill. Her black nightgown slipped down from between her legs, revealing her fair, slender thighs. Her curly hair draped casually over her ears and chest. Gazing out at the hazy streetlights and torrential rain outside, she lazily raised her glass to take a sip of wine, her nightgown sliding down her arm to expose her thin wrist.

Lou Qingshuang was pondering what to do next. Even though she was certain about filing a lawsuit against Shen Yue, her heart still ached slightly.

Unbidden, she recalled how she had repeatedly insisted in front of Willow that she had a fiancée and would even send her an invitation when they got married. No wonder Willow’s gaze had been so deep and meaningful at the time. Lou Qingshuang drained her wine glass in one gulp, deciding to pretend she had never said those things.

Willow had known all along, otherwise, she wouldn’t have looked at her that way, nor would she have suggested using the joint project with Xinyu as bait.

Living right across from Lou Qingshuang, Willow was also sitting by her window sill drinking wine, unable to sleep in her new apartment.

She was also wearing a nightgown, her long hair draped over her shoulders. Her entire aura seemed much softer, yet significantly more solitary.

The next morning, just as Lou Qingshuang was about to leave her apartment, Willow walked out at the same time. As their eyes met, Lou Qingshuang felt a bit awkward. “Good morning.”

“Morning. Let’s go, I’ll drive you to work,” Willow said, stepping out as her bodyguard closed the door behind her.

After all, hadn’t Willow moved here precisely so she could spend day and night together with Lou Qingshuang? Driving her to work in the morning and greeting her when she came home at night could certainly be considered spending day and night together.

“No need, I’ll just hail a cab,” Lou Qingshuang quickly turned her down.

The two of them stood together waiting for the elevator. Willow had a smile on her face, making it obvious to anyone that she was in a great mood.

The elevator arrived quickly, and everyone stepped inside. When they reached the first floor, Lou Qingshuang made a move to leave, but Willow reached out and caught her wrist, pressing the button to close the elevator doors. She turned her head to look at Lou Qingshuang. “I’m driving you to work.”

Feeling the warmth and dryness of Willow’s palm, Lou Qingshuang instinctively pulled her hand back, no longer arguing about taking a cab.

She was afraid that if she insisted on taking a taxi again, Willow would simply drag her along by the hand.

The Bentley was waiting right outside the elevator exit. The bodyguard opened the car door for them, and Willow gestured for Lou Qingshuang to get in.

Lou Qingshuang glanced left and right to make sure no one was around before hurriedly getting into the car.

“Thank you,” Lou Qingshuang whispered after taking her seat, looking for all the world like someone trying to hide.

“Am I really that embarrassing to be seen with?” Willow asked curiously.

Lou Qingshuang paused for a moment. She genuinely did not want to end up on the front page of the entertainment news, so she muttered softly, “It’s me who’s embarrassing to be seen with.
