Days passed, then weeks, and soon several months had gone by.
Amanda gradually adapted to life in the Heavenly Palace.
The people of the Dragon Kingdom admired her because she treated everyone with kindness, whether they were royal officials, palace guards, servants, or ordinary citizens.
She quickly became known as the Queen with a Compassionate Heart.
One peaceful evening, Amanda and the Dragon King walked through the Royal Garden, where thousands of glowing flowers bloomed beneath the silver moonlight.
The gentle breeze carried the sweet fragrance of the flowers as they admired the beauty of the palace.
Amanda smiled.
“Your Majesty, this kingdom is so peaceful.
Everyone seems to live in harmony.
There are no wars, no crimes, and no fear like on Earth.”
The Dragon King sighed deeply.
“It may seem peaceful now, Amanda, but it was not always like this.”
Amanda turned to him.
“What do you mean?”
The Dragon King looked toward the sky before speaking.
“The Dragon Kingdom has witnessed countless wars throughout its history.
The battles fought here were far more devastating than those on Earth.”
Amanda listened attentively.
“Our greatest enemies were the Dark Clans, powerful kingdoms that sought to conquer the Heavenly Realm.
They desired our throne, our treasures, and the ancient Dragon Crystal that protects this kingdom.”
He paused for a moment before continuing.
“Many great warriors sacrificed their lives defending this palace.”
“Who were they?” Amanda asked.
The Dragon King smiled sadly.
“There were many legends.
Commander Leonie, the fearless warrior who protected the eastern gates for twenty years.
And General Jason, whose bravery inspired thousands of soldiers.”
Amanda admired the names.
“They must have been extraordinary people.”
“They were,” the Dragon King replied quietly.
“But even heroes cannot escape death.”
He lowered his head.
“My father, King Aragon, and my mother, Queen Seraphina, also died on the battlefield while defending this kingdom.”
Amanda’s heart filled with sorrow.
“I’m so sorry.”
“They gave their lives to protect our people.
Because of their sacrifice, I was able to inherit the throne.”
Amanda gently held his hand.
“They would be proud of the king you’ve become.”
The Dragon King smiled faintly.
“There is another truth you should know.”
Amanda looked at him curiously.
“My younger brother betrayed our family.”
Amanda’s eyes widened.
“Your own brother?”
“Yes.”
“He believed the throne should have belonged to him.
His jealousy consumed him.”
“What did he do?”
“He secretly joined forces with our enemies during the Great War.
Amanda was shocked.
“How could anyone betray their own family?”
“The desire for power can blind even the noblest heart,” the Dragon King answered.
“What happened to him?”
“He escaped after we defeated the enemy.
His followers were destroyed, and peace returned to the kingdom.”
Amanda let out a sigh of relief.
“So there is nothing left to fear.”
The Dragon King smiled.
“That is what I hope.”
The two continued walking through the garden, discussing the future of the kingdom.
Amanda suggested building more schools for young dragons, improving the royal hospitals, and creating new training academies for future warriors.
The Dragon King was impressed.
“You always think about helping others.”
Amanda smiled.
“A kingdom becomes truly great when its people are happy.”
The Dragon King nodded proudly.
“You are exactly the queen this kingdom needs.”
As they stood together beneath the stars, neither of them noticed a pair of glowing red eyes watching from the distant mountains beyond the palace walls.
A mysterious figure stood silently in the darkness.
“So…” the stranger whispered.
“The Dragon King finally believes the war is over.”
A wicked smile slowly appeared on the figure’s face.
“Let him enjoy his peace while it lasts.”
The shadow disappeared into the darkness, leaving only an icy wind blowing across the mountains.
Far away, destiny had already begun preparing another war—one that would determine the future of the Dragon Kingdom forever.
