The golden light behind the Ancient Door vanished as quickly as it had appeared.

The next morning, the Dragon King summoned Queen Amanda and Prince Kadosh to the Royal Library.

The library was the oldest building in the kingdom, filled with thousands of ancient scrolls and books passed down through countless generations.Full novel: The Dragon king’s promise — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The Dragon King carefully unlocked a small wooden chest hidden beneath a stone table.

“I have never opened this chest before,” he said quietly.

“Only the ruler of the Dragon Kingdom is allowed to read what is inside.”

He lifted the lid and removed a weathered scroll tied with a golden ribbon.

Dust rose into the air as he slowly unrolled it.

The parchment was covered with the same strange symbols Amanda had seen on the Ancient Door.

Amanda’s eyes widened.

“It’s the same language.”

The Dragon King nodded.

“Our ancestors called it the Language of Heaven.

Very few could understand it.”

Kadosh leaned closer.

“What does it say?”

The Dragon King took a deep breath before reading the translated words aloud. Read this novel at g.com for the best experience.

“When darkness rises for the second time, the Ancient Door shall awaken.

The chosen heir of the Dragon Kingdom shall walk beyond the gate.

Amanda looked at Kadosh.

“The chosen heir…”

Kadosh folded his arms.

“Father…

The Dragon King remained silent for a moment.

“I don’t know.”

He continued reading.

“The Door must never be forced open.

It shall only answer the call of Heaven.

Whoever enters with courage shall receive the truth.”

Amanda shivered.

“So the stories were true…”

“There is more,” the Dragon King said.

He read the final lines.

“When the stars darken and the earth trembles, the Guardian Beyond the Gate shall awaken.

The final promise of the Heavenly King shall begin.”

Just then…

A loud rumble shook the entire palace.

The shelves trembled.

Ancient books crashed onto the floor.

Outside, dragons roared nervously as dark clouds gathered above the kingdom.

A palace guard burst through the library doors.

“Your Majesty!” he shouted, struggling to catch his breath.

“The Ancient Door…

it’s glowing again!”
