The Dragon King, Queen Amanda, and Prince Kadosh hurried through the palace corridors, followed by dozens of royal guards.

As they reached the chamber of the Ancient Door, everyone stopped in disbelief.

The mysterious door was no longer covered in dust.Full novel: The Dragon king’s promise — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Golden light flowed across its surface like rivers of fire, while the strange Greek inscriptions glowed brighter with every passing second.

No one dared to move.

One of the guards whispered, “I’ve served this palace for forty years…

I’ve never seen anything like this.”

Another guard stepped closer, but before he could touch the door—

Boom!

A powerful force threw him backward.

He crashed into a stone pillar and fell to the ground.

“Stay back!” the Dragon King commanded.

The guards immediately retreated.

“I warned you,” the king said.

“The Ancient Door cannot be touched.”

Queen Amanda stared at the glowing symbols.

“It feels…

alive.”

Before anyone could respond, the light suddenly disappeared.

The room became silent once again.

The Dragon King ordered everyone to leave the chamber except his family.

“No one is to come near this place without my permission,” he commanded.

“Yes, Your Majesty,” the guards replied before leaving.

That night…

Prince Kadosh stood alone on the palace balcony, looking at the stars.

He couldn’t stop thinking about the prophecy.

“The chosen heir…”

The words echoed in his mind.

“You’ve been silent all evening,” she said softly.

Kadosh smiled faintly.

“I’m trying not to worry you.”

She took his hand.

“You don’t have to hide your fears from me.”

Kadosh looked into her eyes.

“Something is coming, Angelina.

I can feel it.”

She gently squeezed his hand.

“Whatever it is, we will face it together.”

Later that night, Kadosh finally fell asleep.

Suddenly…

He found himself standing in complete darkness.

There was no palace.

No dragons.

No stars.

Only endless silence.

Then…

A deep voice echoed through the darkness.

“Kadosh…”

He turned around.

“Who’s there?”

No one answered.

Instead, the darkness began to disappear.

Before his eyes, the Earth appeared.

At first, everything looked peaceful.

Mountains collapsed.

Oceans rose like giant walls.

Cities burned.

People ran through the streets, screaming in terror.

Dark creatures emerged from the shadows, destroying everything in their path.

Children cried for their parents.

Kings fell before an unseen enemy.

The entire world was drowning in fear.

Kadosh clenched his fists.

“No…”

Above the burning world, he saw a massive black throne floating in the sky.

A figure sat upon it, hidden beneath a cloak of darkness.

Only two glowing crimson eyes could be seen.

The mysterious figure slowly raised one hand.

“My time…

has finally come.”

Kadosh tried to fly toward the throne, but invisible chains wrapped around his body.

He struggled with all his strength.

“Who are you?” he shouted.

The figure laughed.

“You will know my name…

when you open the Ancient Door.”

Kadosh’s eyes flew open.

He sat upright, breathing heavily.

Sweat covered his face.

Outside his window…

A golden beam of light shot into the night sky from the direction of the Ancient Door.
