—Damn it, I thought.

At this exact moment, Yuno and I were locked in a complete gaze.

It had been a complete impulse.

I had kissed Yuno on the forehead.

I tried to hurriedly turn my back to her, but my body wouldn’t obey. I froze, unable to move. We remained there, locked in an embrace, staring into each other’s eyes.

“Um… so, that just now was…”

Pathetically, my words came out fragmented and awkward.

Yuno stared at me intently, as if refusing to let me escape. I felt as though I were being sucked into those large, faintly moist brown eyes.

Slowly, her drooping eyelids narrowed with a sweet expression.

Yuno’s face drew closer.

And then—

Our lips overlapped, at a distance where they were barely touching.

A sensation as light as a feather, as if our lips had merely brushed against one another.

“Wait…”

A small sound escaped me.

Yuno began to peck at my lips again—chu, chu—repeatedly, like a small bird. Then, she let out a soft laugh.

Looking at me from such a close distance, that smile was almost demonic in its allure, so irresistibly cute that my heart throbbed with a ticklish intensity.

This time, the kiss lasted longer.

I couldn’t turn my face away. I could do nothing but let our lips overlap.

But this was definitely wrong. If we kept going—

“Hey… wait a second…”

I pulled my lips away from Yuno’s and tried to interrupt the kiss, but at that moment, Yuno’s hand gently came to rest at the back of my head. She began to stroke my hair slowly and tenderly, as if combing through it.

But it was a clear sign: she wasn’t letting me go.

Her face approached again.

Because I had let my guard down, my lips were half-open the moment we met. Yuno’s tongue slid smoothly through the gap.

Skillfully, she searched for my tongue and entwined with it.

Gently, as if plucking a flower. Yet, the movement felt terribly erotic.

I could do nothing but respond. Our tongues tangled. She sucked at the inside of my lips. Yuno shifted the angle of her neck—deepening the kiss, further and further.

Nnn…

Spluch, shlick…

The sweet sensation of being sucked and the lewd sound of moisture echoing in the quiet room. A moan escaped me involuntarily, and a dull ache began to throb deep inside my body.

It was a fierce, predatory kiss, unimaginable compared to her usual innocent and naive expression.

But that made it all the more erotic, more bewitching, making my heart race so fast it felt suffocating.

While our lips remained deeply locked, in a corner of my mind that was turning white, I fought desperately to remain calm.

—Wait.

What am I doing?

I can’t.

I shouldn’t.

But it feels so good, I don’t want to let go.

Still, this is wrong. We’re just roommates, and she’s so much younger.

I don’t want to fall in love anymore. I don’t want to go through that pain again.

If I’m just going to lose it, then from the start…

“Ngh… mmm… ha…”

I twisted my neck and pulled my lips away.

A thin, silver thread of saliva stretched languidly between our lower lips.

“Look… I told you, we can’t. Not this.”

When I said that, Yuno, her breathing ragged, looked at me with bedroom eyes. Her cheeks were faintly flushed, and her lips were wet.

It was incredibly provocative; I instinctively looked away.

“But it felt good, didn’t it?”

Yuno narrowed her eyes mischievously.

“That’s why. This kind of thing… stop it.”

“You say ‘can’t’ and ‘stop,’ but you give such erotic kisses, Onee-san… You’re so cute, I think I’m getting addicted.”

She spoke in a sweet voice and pressed her lips against mine once more.

My will to resist had already faded.

The sound of moisture turned thick and syrupy. A sweet, slow-melting kiss, as if being sucked by a mucous membrane.

Every time Yuno’s breath dissolved into the gap of my lips, my head grew fuzzier.

As it was, Yuno leaned over and pinned me down.

Then, her slender fingers caught the buttons of my pajamas.

One button, then two… she began to undo them.

“Wait… hold on!”

I pushed myself up and shoved Yuno’s shoulders away with both hands.

Yuno stumbled backward.

She looked at me with a blank expression. She wasn’t sulking or angry—she just looked puzzled, as if she’d been caught off guard.

“Why?”

She tilted her head and tried to reach for the buttons of my pajamas again.

“Because you’re not going to throw me away from now on, right? So…”

“No. Doing this just so you won’t be thrown away is wrong.”

I looked down, weaving my words.

“This kind of thing… you’re supposed to do it with… someone you love…”

“What is ‘love’?”

“Eh…?”

“I don’t know. …Because neither my mom nor anyone else before has ever told me.”

There was a short silence.

“Onee-san, do you love me?”

“Eh… that’s…”

“Then, do you hate me?”

“I don’t hate you…”

I was utterly bewildered by the sudden questions.

I felt something for Yuno that was neither just a roommate nor just a friend.

I had to admit that.

But putting it into words as “love,” or even acknowledging it—that terrified me. Because I was afraid of losing it again, of being betrayed, just like back then.

“Hey, if I’m with you, will I understand what this ‘love’ feeling is?”

The eyes that had been moist and hazy just moments ago now looked distant, clouded and devoid of light.

“…I don’t know. How do I make it so I’m not always alone… Someone… please tell me.”

Yuno murmured in a voice that seemed to vanish into the air. Her downcast expression was complex—somewhat self-deprecating, yet clinging.

I couldn’t say anything.

Neither an honest answer nor gentle words of comfort came to me.

“…I’m going to sleep.”

With that, Yuno let the corners of her mouth lift slightly and turned her back to me.

“Goodnight.”

Her voice was sweet, calm, and simply quiet.

A tiny voice of my own barely escaped the gap of my lips.

After a while, in the dim light, Yuno’s back began to rise and fall in a slow, regular rhythm.

I stared at the ceiling, unable to even close my eyelids.

My heart was too loud. It kept pounding, a great noise echoing in my head.

The room was silent, save for the sound of Yuno’s breathing as she lay with her back to me.

The sky visible through the gap in the curtains was beginning to turn indigo.

I was wide awake.
