Stunned, unbelievable.
The softness pressing against her lips made Shen Guai unable to breathe. Rather than a kiss, it was more like Qin Chaomu was unilaterally trying to gag her.
An attempt to make her shut up.
What was this? An insult?
Bitterness welled up in Shen Guai’s heart. She raised her hands to push Qin Chaomu away, only to be restrained instead.
Again?
Shen Guai’s large eyes were bloodshot from exhaustion. Her hands were pinned against the concrete wall, the more she struggled, the greater Qin Chaomu’s strength became.
It was so forceful that the fair skin on the back of Shen Guai’s hands rubbed against the uneven concrete, resulting in raw, bloody streaks.
“Qin Chaomu, you’re a f*cking…”
Shen Guai leaned against the wall, gasping for air. A hint of dazed confusion appeared in her watery eyes, but her mouth remained stubborn. Whenever Qin Chaomu released her lips, Shen Guai would hurl a few insults.
Qin Chaomu’s reflexes were incredibly sharp, giving Shen Guai no chance to vent. Every time Shen Guai reached the climax of a curse, Qin Chaomu would time it perfectly, precisely blocking her mouth.
This was absolutely intentional!
Shen Guai was restless and frustrated, wanting to scream but unable to get the words out.
Behind those light-colored eyes lay thoughts that were impossible to read. Qin Chaomu’s brow was deeply furrowed, and her face, exquisite enough to be Nuwa’s masterpiece, was currently icy and devoid of expression.
“Qin Chaomu, you’re a dead rat in a sewer! A loach in the mud! Qin Chaomu, you are an utter lunatic! A psychopath!”
Shen Guai spat it all out in one breath, then met Qin Chaomu’s eyes with a flicker of guilt.
“Finished venting?” Qin Chaomu arched an eyebrow. With the light behind her, the expression on her face was unpredictable.
Shen Guai felt a spark of fear. Her fear of Qin Chaomu seemed etched into her genes; whenever Qin Chaomu was truly angry, Shen Guai felt as though her life was in danger.
This was all thanks to Shen Guai’s impression of her: this woman was a dark, scheming, obsessive maniac.
The facts certainly supported that.
“It… it was okay…”
Shen Guai pursed her lips and coughed twice. She hadn’t expected to actually go through with the insults. She looked up stealthily, peeking at Qin Chaomu’s expression.
“You’ve had your fun, but I haven’t had mine yet.”
Qin Chaomu let out a light laugh, looking down at Shen Guai with disdain.
The long fingers increased their pressure by fifty percent, nearly crushing Shen Guai’s jawbone. It was as if the Shen Guai before her wasn’t a living person, but merely a toy for Qin Chaomu to vent upon.
Shen Guai hated Qin Chaomu’s attitude or perhaps it wasn’t hate, but fury.
She didn’t understand why Qin Chaomu, who clearly liked Chen Qinghe, insisted on using her as a shield and repeatedly playing with her under the guise of being a couple.
Shen Guai instinctively took a half-step back. A cold sweat broke out on her forehead, and her body went limp against the wall.
Qin Chaomu watched Shen Guai’s face with a smile. She gripped Shen Guai’s slender wrist with one hand and pinched her chin firmly with the other.
Qin Chaomu lightly patted Shen Guai’s cheek twice, her dimples deepening as she smiled.
“I happen to enjoy forcing people’s hands. I’ll ask you one more time: who do you like? Who are you going to pursue?”
Shen Guai paused, then gritted her teeth and said, “I like Chen Qinghe. I just like Chen Qinghe.”
“Heh.”
Qin Chaomu leaned in closer, her willow-thin brows knitting together tightly while the smile remained on her lips.
“Shen Guai, you don’t actually think I, Qin Chaomu, am some kind of good person, do you?”
The high fever made Shen Guai’s consciousness hazy. She tried to break free several times to no avail. As her body grew weaker, Qin Chaomu’s kisses became increasingly aggressive.
“Qin Chaomu, you bastard… mmm…”
Shen Guai’s mouth didn’t stay idle either, cursing whenever she found a gap to regain some psychological balance.
Whenever Shen Guai’s insults reached a fever pitch, Qin Chaomu would precisely drive her tongue into Shen Guai’s mouth, turning everything upside down and leaving her head spinning.
Shen Guai was kissed until her knees went weak. Unable to stand steady, her body began to slide downward.
In her daze, Shen Guai wondered: Is there any woman in this world whose cause of death was being kissed to death by another woman?
If not, she, Shen Guai, was likely about to become immortalized in history.
By the time her teeth were forced open again, fine beads of sweat had broke out on Shen Guai’s forehead. No matter how much her limbs resisted, the most infuriating thing was that she was blushing.
Shen Guai’s face was so red she could feel the intense burning sensation on the surface of her skin.
“Qin Chaomu… Qin…”
The time Qin Chaomu left for Shen Guai to catch her breath grew shorter and shorter. Shen Guai slowly realized that Qin Chaomu was, quite literally, “taming” her.
Qin Chaomu wanted Shen Guai to understand the severity of defying her.
Qin Chaomu’s kiss was like a cat playing with a dying mouse. Whenever the mouse thought it had a chance to escape, the cat would extend its merciless claws, continuing until the mouse was gasping for air and utterly spent.
The more she resisted, the more intense the next kiss became.
“Give me a new answer.”
Qin Chaomu reached out to stroke the corner of Shen Guai’s mouth, eyeing her like she was inspecting a pet dog.
“Qin Chaomu, you’re a f*cking vermin…”
Shen Guai’s voice grew smaller. Her stamina completely drained, her cursing now sounded more like moaning.
Qin Chaomu curled her red lips in satisfaction and chuckled softly, “The sound of you cursing is even better than your moans.”
This woman is a fcking masochist!*
“Sister…”
Seeing that the more she cursed, the more Qin Chaomu enjoyed it, Shen Guai decided to change her tactics. She became obedient and stopped the verbal abuse.
A pair of large, watery eyes looked at Qin Chaomu innocently.
The look seemed to say: Sister, I’ve already given in.
Qin Chaomu released Shen Guai’s hands at the right moment, moving instead to support her slender waist.
With the restraint on her hands gone, Shen Guai’s body went completely limp. Qin Chaomu’s kiss was becoming increasingly intoxicating, the friction and collision of their lips and teeth felt like someone was beating a drum against Shen Guai’s heart.
Shen Guai’s heartbeat fluctuated with the rhythm of Qin Chaomu’s kisses.
Dead woman! Making my heart race like this… Shen Guai thought haphazardly.
The kiss ceased to be a struggle. Shen Guai wrapped her arms around Qin Chaomu’s neck, gently closed her eyes, and began to actively respond.
The rich scent of green tea made Shen Guai’s head swim. She knit her brows slightly and opened her eyes, only to see, out of the corner of her eye about fifty meters away, a group of burly men in suits watching them.
Damn it.
Shen Guai whispered Qin Chaomu’s name. Qin Chaomu stopped her movements, and the light in her eyes dimmed as she looked at Shen Guai.
“Shen Guai, you really have quite the bag of tricks.”
After saying those final words, Qin Chaomu pushed Shen Guai away and turned to leave.
Once again, Shen Guai saw that expression of sadness on Qin Chaomu’s face a fleeting, unmistakable look of sorrow that couldn’t be faked.
Qin Chaomu wiped the corners of her mouth and brushed the dust off her high heels. Suddenly, she heard a violent thud behind her.
When she turned around, she only saw Shen Guai lying on the ground, unconscious.
Shen Guai was woken up by the smell of disinfectant. She opened her eyes to see the plain white ceiling of a hospital.
Then, she saw the blurry figure of Qin Chaomu sitting by the bed, peeling an apple for her.
Qin Chaomu, you piece of…
Just as Shen Guai was about to start cursing, her vision cleared, and she realized the woman in front of her wasn’t Qin Chaomu.
“Oh? You’re awake, little fan.”
Chen Qinghe finished peeling the apple and took out a fruit knife to start slicing a banana.
It’s not Qin Chaomu…
How could she have hallucinated?
Shen Guai instinctively looked toward the hospital room door. It was empty, no one was there.
“Why are you here?” Shen Guai’s expression was displeased.
“Qin Chaomu asked me to help take care of you.” Chen Qinghe shrugged, putting the sliced banana and fruit into a small container and drizzling a bag of yogurt over it.
Shen Guai watched coldly as Chen Qinghe prepared the fruit bowl and politely declined, “No thanks, I don’t…”
Before Shen Guai could say she had no appetite, she saw Chen Qinghe pull out a steel spoon, open her mouth wide, and finish it in three bites.
“Huh? What did you say, little fan?”
Chen Qinghe’s cheeks were stuffed full. Not satisfied with just the fruit, she grabbed a carton of milk from the table and downed it in one go.
“Where is Qin Chaomu?”
Irritation appeared on Shen Guai’s face. Qin Chaomu didn’t come herself but sent Chen Qinghe to look after her? What was the meaning of this? A declaration of war?
Having her love rival take care of her, did that even make sense?
“Busy filming. She has an event with me the day after tomorrow, so she’s rushing through the schedule with the crew.”
Chen Qinghe gave a meaningful smile. “What, do you miss her?”
“…”
Shen Guai neither admitted nor denied it. She looked impatiently at the glucose drip that was only halfway finished and suddenly wanted to pull out the needle.
Fortunately, Chen Qinghe was quick and shouted, “You little brat, why are you so wild? Aren’t you afraid of blood backflowing?”
“I want to leave. I want to go back to the set.” Shen Guai struggled to pull at the IV.
“My goodness, you’ve been out for thirteen hours. Just stay still and finish this bottle of glucose.”
Chen Qinghe shielded the IV stand. “If you don’t behave, I’m calling Qin Chaomu to come watch you.”
Chen Qinghe wiped the sweat from her forehead; she had just been scared half to death.
She had been filming peacefully when she was suddenly snatched away by Qin Chaomu to look after her “little girlfriend.” Not only did she have to care for her, she had to do it perfectly.
Qin Chaomu had given strict orders: Chen Qinghe was not to leave Shen Guai’s side for a second. If Shen Guai was unhappy, thirsty, hungry, or felt wronged, Qin Chaomu would have Chen Qinghe’s hide.
“Fine, then call Qin Chaomu over. If you get her here, I’ll stay still for the IV.”
Shen Guai peeled a banana and handed it to Chen Qinghe as a thank-you gift.
“You really are a little ancestor. Wait here, I’ll go make the call.”
“Hey, wait… don’t tell her I asked her to come.” Shen Guai coughed twice. “Just say my condition got worse and ask if she wants to come see me.”
Chen Qinghe nodded helplessly and walked toward the door while dialing the number.
The moment Chen Qinghe stepped out of the room, Shen Guai pulled the needle out with lightning speed and bolted out of the ward.
“Shen Guai?!”
Before Chen Qinghe could react, Shen Guai had already boarded the elevator.
Wearing hospital scrubs, Shen Guai was quite conspicuous outside the hospital. But even more conspicuous than her was a black, vintage stretch Lincoln.
Shen Guai’s expression darkened. She cursed under her breath and quickly ran to the road to hail a taxi.
“Madam Xu, should we pursue?”
Inside the stretch Lincoln sat a dozen burly men. In the very last row sat a middle-aged woman.
The woman’s face was as beautiful as a peach blossom, though she was older, one could still see the stunning beauty of her youth.
“Pursue her.”
