What does it feel like to wear women’s clothes?

The players who were currently experiencing it could tell you: a strange breeze brushing your thighs, a faint chill curling up your legs, and an overwhelming sense of insecurity.

After all, they were all men, solid, broad shouldered men. None of them had thought to bring leggings or safety shorts. And for some reason, the hospital’s director had decided that every nurse uniform in stock had to be a soft pink, knee-length skirt.Full novel: The Escape Game BOSS is Pregnant with my Child — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Or rather, it was knee-length on an average woman.

In this particular group of men, each standing well over one meter seventy-five, those skirts became ten centimeters above the knee, or worse, daringly shorter, pushing the limits of what their dignity could endure.

At least the ghosts upstairs hadn’t demanded that they wear high heels. If they had, this pack of big-footed men would probably have been forced to tiptoe along, shoving two toes into each shoe just to stay upright.

Qi Yu hadn’t joined the others in their desperate costume change. He had long ago hidden away a conservative white nurse’s uniform, tested it in advance, and made sure it fit perfectly. Confident that he’d outsmarted everyone, he sat in the corridor like a calm spectator.

He didn’t notice that Xie Shao, standing beside him, appeared outwardly composed but was secretly tense, a little nervous, and perhaps even a little expectant.

From the stairwell came a chorus of despairing male voices.

“Damn it, why’s this skirt so short?”

“Who designed this uniform? I can’t even breathe in it, my chest feels crushed!”

“I can’t even walk properly! Are you sure we can still run in this thing?”

Mixed between the shouts were the patient tones of a few female players, trying to coach them on how to walk in skirts, even how to run gracefully without flashing anyone.

Qi Yu didn’t even need to peek inside. Just listening to the conversation made him double over in laughter, his stomach aching from how hard he was trying to hold it in.

He covered his mouth, terrified that one loud laugh would get him mobbed by a horde of humiliated men. Still, even in his mirth, he couldn’t help worrying.

“Xie Shao, you think they’ll come after me later, once they see what I’m wearing?” he asked, half-guilt.

Technically, he could’ve skipped the costume entirely, Xie Shao could easily unlock the door for him, but since everyone else was dressing up, it would look suspicious if he didn’t.

When the last fight broke out, Song Qing’s stomach had been mysteriously bloated, the other ghosts too weak to care what Qi Yu wore. But now? Not so easy to get away with.

So when Qi Yu had spotted that white, modest head nurse uniform earlier, he’d grabbed it like treasure and stuffed it straight into his bag.

Thinking about it now, he couldn’t help patting himself on the back.

Absolutely brilliant. Handsome and clever. A genius move.

Hearing his anxious question, Xie Shao suddenly remembered the white uniform he’d casually tossed aside earlier, without realizing it might have been the very one Qi Yu was planning to wear.

His conscience, tiny as a bean, stirred uneasily. After thinking for a moment, he said softly,

“They won’t. It’s not like they have a choice. If they don’t wear the nurse outfits, they can’t go upstairs. You can just tell them they were sacrificing themselves for the mission.”

Right. They were sacrificing themselves for the mission.

In that case, what was the difference between a white nurse’s uniform and a pink frilly one?

Qi Yu, completely unaware of the wicked amusement flashing through Xie Shao’s mind, relaxed entirely. He crouched at the door, waiting for Wang Yicheng and the others to emerge.

Xie Shao somehow produced a bag of walnut-flavored melon seeds, and the two of them sat side by side at the top of the stairs, chatting and cracking seeds like dorm mates on a lazy afternoon.

When Wang Yicheng’s group finally shuffled out, their faces red, their legs clamped tightly together beneath the pink skirts, they were greeted by the sight of two men surrounded by a sea of melon seed shells, grinning from ear to ear.

Tang Yu gritted his teeth. “Qi Yu, we’re done changing. Didn’t you say your uniform was easier to put on? Go ahead and change now. Let’s head upstairs together, don’t waste time.”

Couldn’t he at least pretend not to be enjoying the show so much?

If not for the fact that Qi Yu’s possessive boyfriend was sitting right there, they would’ve already dragged him into a sack and beaten the smugness out of him.

For shameless spectators like him, group revenge was the only cure.

Qi Yu could feel the collective resentment aimed at him, but he wasn’t worried at all. First, he had Xie Shao beside him, his very own mountain of protection.

And second, as Xie Shao had said, this was all for the sake of the mission. They had no right to blame him.

His eyes swept over the group, calm on the surface but sparkling with laughter inside.

The players were, without exception, full-grown men who had never in their lives worn anything remotely feminine.

Now, forced into pink nurse uniforms, they looked like a parade of giant dolls, each step revealing a flash of leg hair swaying proudly in the cold air.

They held their skirts gingerly, backs straight, stomachs sucked in, terrified that one deep breath would pop a seam.

Not that anyone would mind a ripped shirt, it was the thought of baring a set of solid pecs under that pink lace that made them sweat.

If the ghosts upstairs realized they weren’t real nurses, all this humiliation would have been for nothing.

To put it kindly, the scene before him was eye-searing. The line of “nurses” looked like a troop of pink-armored warriors, both ridiculous and strangely heroic.

But among them, one person managed to be more than just funny. He was actually beautiful.

Tang Yu.

With his bright, handsome face, fair skin, and long, well-shaped legs showing beneath the skirt, he was without doubt the most dazzling flower of the group.

Even the actual female players paled in comparison.

Qi Yu, still holding his bag, couldn’t resist his mischievous impulse. As he walked past Tang Yu, he gave the perfectly rounded curve beneath the skirt a sharp smack.

“Nice. Firm and perky!” he said cheerfully.

Tang Yu froze, then spun around, his eyes wide with outrage. Three seconds later, tears of disbelief welled up as he pouted pitifully and complained straight to Xie Shao.

“Can you please control him? He’s doing this right in front of you! If you don’t stop him now, he’s going to walk all over you later!”

The other players quickly averted their eyes, secretly impressed.

This guy had guts.

Flirting and roughhousing with someone else while your own boss-level lover stood right there? Even if everyone knew Qi Yu was joking, that still took serious nerves.

Qi Yu hadn’t thought much of it, it was just normal banter between guys, harmless fun. He’d grown up around boys, used to rough joking and play fights. Nothing about it felt strange to him.

But he had forgotten one crucial thing.

He was no longer the same Qi Yu as before.

His innocence was long gone. His reputation for being perfectly, unquestionably straight had died with it.

And considering how Xie Shao had once gotten jealous just from seeing him stand too close to Tang Yu, Qi Yu’s stomach dropped.

Great.

He could practically see Xie Shao’s secret little jealous notebook getting thicker by the second.

He didn’t even dare imagine what it looked like now.

Trembling, he glanced at Xie Shao, desperate to do some damage control before the explosion. But instead of the stormy expression he expected, Xie Shao looked calm.

Serene, even.

He smiled gently at Tang Yu and said, “It’s fine. My butt’s pretty perky too.”

Qi Yu: “…”

Tang Yu: “…”

All the players: “…”

Without a single word exchanged, Qi Yu could feel the collective internal chaos of the group. His heart shattered into pieces. Without another glance back, he strode toward the stairwell with the determination of a man walking to his execution.

He didn’t even have the face to turn around.

The rest of the players watched him go, expressions full of reverence and awe.

So… this was what the world of gays was like?

It felt embarrassing.

But also… kind of fascinating.

After recovering from the shock, Tang Yu quickly hid among the others, hoping the sight of so many hairy legs would camouflage his pale skin. When Xie Shao’s gaze drifted over, he waved his hands frantically.

“No no, mine’s definitely not as perky as yours,” he stammered. “Totally flat!”

Xie Shao smiled with all the calm assurance of a reigning monarch. “I know.”

Alright then.

As long as you know.

With Qi Yu gone, none of the other players dared to speak to the terrifying game boss sitting nearby. The corridor instantly fell into silence.

On one side stood a row of burly men in frilly pink skirts, their stiff postures and awkward expressions a tragic contrast to the delicate outfits they wore.

On the other sat Xie Shao, composed and elegant, cracking melon seeds with an air of absolute calm.

The scene was so bizarre it somehow took on a strange harmony.

In that moment, it looked for all the world like a serene queen sitting in quiet judgment, surrounded by a trembling line of nervous court maidens awaiting her command.

Meanwhile, inside the changing room, Qi Yu was busy giving himself a stern lesson in self-control.

He slapped his own disobedient right hand hard enough to sting, muttering under his breath. “You reckless idiot, next time you keep it to yourself, you hear me? Hands off, no more nonsense.”

After disciplining himself, he took a deep breath, calmed down, and reached into his bag to grab the neatly folded nurse uniform he had hidden earlier. He planned to change quickly and get this ordeal over with.

And then,

His fingers brushed something soft, silky, and suspiciously small.

When he pulled it out, he froze completely.

What lay in his hand was a delicate pair of pink underwear trimmed with a border of white lace, fluttery and innocent-looking in the most humiliating way possible.

Qi Yu stared at it in blank disbelief.

What. The. Hell.

Where was his respectable, modest, man-style white nurse uniform? The one that covered everything properly, the one he’d tested ahead of time, the one that had been his symbol of dignity and foresight?

Gone. Completely gone.

Panic exploded in his chest.

He dropped to his knees, yanked the bag open, and frantically started rummaging through it, scattering things across the floor. Shirts, belts, a few snacks, even the melon seed bag he had been sharing earlier, all of it went flying as he searched like a madman.

But no matter how many times he turned the bag inside out, his precious white uniform was nowhere to be found.

Instead, sitting innocently at the very bottom of the bag, neatly folded as if waiting just for him, was something far worse.

A pink, frilly, lace-trimmed dress, one of those cutesy “sweet girl” types, layered like a frosted cake. The kind that screamed sugar and sparkles and nightmares.

Beside it lay a pair of pristine white stockings, long and silky, the sort that clung to the legs all the way up. And to complete the ensemble, a pair of shiny black leather shoes adorned with cheerful little bows.

Qi Yu stared at the collection in absolute horror, his mind blank.

“…”

He blinked once. Twice.

Then the full impact hit him.

What kind of sick joke was this?!

His heart screamed silently.

What happened to his decent, conservative outfit? Who in their right mind replaced it with this… this pink monstrosity straight out of a magical girl dream?!

He could almost hear the universe laughing at him.

This was beyond cruel. It was a cosmic-level misfortune.

For a long moment, Qi Yu just sat there, clutching the frilly pink skirt with trembling hands, his entire existence filled with disbelief.

Finally, all he could do was gape at the ridiculous outfit in front of him, his face drained of color.

“Oh my god,” he whispered weakly. “What the actual hell is this?!”

His soul left his body right then and there.
