The diary revealed the orphanage’s dark past. Combined with the information pried out of Wang Yueyue, Qi Yu pieced together the truth about what that so-called orphanage had really been.
To call it an orphanage was a joke! In reality, it was nothing more than a human trafficking hub for transferring and selling children.
They somehow found the right channels and pulled strings to set up this “orphanage.” On the surface, they acted like a legitimate institution, even taking in orphans sent to them.
It was just a shabby little place, no signboard, no publicity, almost nobody even knew it existed. On the rare occasion a child was sent over, they treated it as “merchandise delivered right to the door,” and disposed of them casually along with the rest.
Because they kept things so low-key, this little den managed to survive unnoticed for a long time. That was, until they carelessly accepted a “troublesome piece of merchandise” a wealthy young master who drew the attention of the police.
At this, Wang Yueyue gave Xie Shao a glance.
Qi Yu nodded and drew an equal sign in his mind.
Wealthy young master = Xie Shao.
Alive, he’d been the richest, most valuable one. Dead, he became the dungeon boss. Perfectly in line with how things had developed. Nothing strange about it.
Anyway, after those blind, idiotic traffickers kidnapped Xie Shao, before they could move or sell off the rest of the kids and escape with their bags, they suffered a second, fatal blow.
Among the children they had beaten, scolded, and treated as disposable merchandise, one of them turned black.
That was the one the players were now searching for the surviving “child.”
His name was Song Qing. A little beggar they had picked up. Because he was older and unusually obedient, the traffickers had kept him as free labor, ordering him around for errands and chores.
They even said that, since he was so well-behaved, they would find him a good family to sell him to, so he could have a better life.
Song Qing seemed to believe them. Whether fetching food or running errands, he worked with diligence, which made the traffickers grow increasingly lax in watching him.
But they hadn’t expected that he wasn’t planning to run away at all. When he finally acted, it was a total wipe.
He bought a packet of rodent poison and dumped it into the meals. One strike, they were all dead. Only he hadn’t eaten.
No one knew what happened after that. He hadn’t left. Instead, he stayed in the orphanage, and whenever he saw the living, his first reaction was still to attack.
Qi Yu once again pulled up the light screen to check. It clearly spelled it out: he had to rescue all the players, and then take Song Qing to the hospital.
Thinking about Song Qing’s combat strength…
He wanted to cry.
This was supposed to be a team dungeon run! How come, for him, it had turned into a solo fight and not just any solo fight, but on nightmare-mode difficulty?
Please allow him to vent his inner grief and rage.
Qi Yu raised his middle finger to the sky.
“Sis-in-law, what are you doing?” Wang Yueyue blinked her big innocent eyes, her round little face looking especially pure and cute.
Even though he knew her mental age, Qi Yu still felt like he was corrupting a child.
He coughed lightly, withdrew his hand as if nothing had happened.
“Nothing, just standing too long, wanted to stretch. Oh, and stop calling me sis-in-law, will you? It sounds weird. Just call me big brother, or Qi-ge, whatever.”
“Oh.” Wang Yueyue nodded, not pressing further. “Then, sis-in-law, are you going to look for Song Qing?”
Qi Yu: “…”
Forget it, if she won’t change it, then so be it. Better than being called “child’s mom.”
Qi Yu had zero desire to go find Song Qing. With his tiny arms and legs, how many hits could he take before he went down?
The only viable strategy now was cling to a big thigh and live well.
When your life is on the line, what’s a little dignity worth?
“We’ll look for him, sure, but how we look depends on your Brother Xie.” Qi Yu turned to Xie Shao, who had been silently standing beside him, and put on the most sycophantic, flattering smile.
“Brother Xie, allow me to ask one little question.”
“Between you and Song Qing, who’s stronger?”
“You want to know?” Under Qi Yu’s gaze, Xie Shao lowered the arms folded across his chest, and smiled “gently” at him. “Call me good big brother.”
Qi Yu: “…”
“Ew~” Wang Yueyue stuck out her tongue at the two of them. “Shameless! Don’t you know there’s a child here?”
Xie Shao glanced at her. “You’re underage?”
Wang Yueyue the Lightbulb was mercilessly dismissed, leaving only Qi Yu and him alone in the room.
Alone with him, staring at that handsome face which looked even better in the light, Qi Yu felt his breathing go uneven.
A touch of suffocation, heat rising in his cheeks, ears burning, his mind buzzing in a whirl of discomfort.
He labeled all these reactions as…
Shame.
The shame of corrupting a minor.
Qi Yu: You, You, You… He stammered in silence, while Xie Shao remained completely calm. The man even reached out, trying to touch the flushed skin of Qi Yu’s neck.
“What’s wrong? Just one little line and you’re blushing like this?”
Why should he be blushing?! Those corrupting words weren’t even his!
Qi Yu’s mind swung wildly between two choices: snapping at Xie Shao to shut up with the sleazy talk and risk angering the boss, or swallowing his pride and obediently calling him “good big brother,” thereby branding himself forever as a little gay-gay.
His pale face went red, then white, then red again.
Finally, he squeezed out a line he would regret for a very, very long time.
“Good big brother, my ass…… am I not the father of the child in your belly?!”
Xie Shao glanced at him with mild surprise. Then, suddenly, the corners of his lips curled. Leaning close to his ear, he whispered softly:
“Not bad. Then what should I call you?”
“Good husband?”
Qi Yu: “…”
Boom. His face instantly turned bright red.
All the blood in his body surged upward. His head buzzed blank, all sound gone.
Only three words echoed in his mind on repeat, blasting his thoughts into white noise, leaving him unable to even think what to do.
But outside the room, Wang Yueyue hadn’t actually left. She lingered for a bit, keeping watch. After all, there were other ghosts in the orphanage.
Some had been locked here so long that they’d gone half-mad, lashing out for any chance to kill. Not everyone was like her, a ghost who’d managed to find peace, even studying and practicing writing.
She wasn’t worried about Qi Yu’s safety, she was worried some blind idiot ghost would come for him and end up destroyed by Xie Shao instead.
Life was hard enough; even clinging on as a ghost was better than scattering into nothing.
But she didn’t wait for any troublemakers. Instead, she saw Xie Shao push open the door with a dazzlingly bright smile on his face, like he’d just gotten some great bargain.
Qi Yu trailed after him, looking exactly like a bullied little wife, his face downcast.
The two of them walked straight toward the place where Song Qing lived, without greeting or acknowledging any other ghosts along the way.
Originally, Wang Yueyue had wanted to take Qi Yu to find some tools to restrain Song Qing. Now she just stood there wordless: “…”
So they were planning to go head-on?
Since becoming a ghost, she’d only ever seen Xie Shao take action once. That one time, he’d beaten all the ghosts into submission, secured his position as boss, and even Song Qing didn’t dare bother him much after that.
Ever since, he had mostly stayed upstairs in the attic, rarely appearing.
If it weren’t for the occasional noises coming from up there, she would have thought he had already reincarnated.
Her curiosity overwhelmed her fear of Song Qing. After hesitating, she decided to quietly follow.
Worst case, when the fight broke out, she could help by tossing in a tool. And if she couldn’t help… well, she could always be the cheer squad, right?
After all, they already had one hanger-on. Adding one more wouldn’t matter. Wang Yueyue figured Qi Yu wouldn’t refuse to let her tag along and cheer them on.
Song Qing lived in a small hut behind the orphanage’s main building originally just a storage shed. Qi Yu was only able to find the place because Xie Shao led the way.
Before, the hut had been shrouded in white mist, completely hidden from players. They would never have thought this orphanage dungeon had a secret mini-map attached to it.
Qi Yu cursed the damned game in his heart again.
Who the hell designed this scam of a game? From the way things looked, the developers obviously had no intention of letting players find this little house.
Not only did they have players running around inside the building huffing and puffing while being chased by ghosts, but once they escaped, Song Qing would show up to drag them off and wipe them out in one swoop.
It was downright insidious!
If this was the difficulty level of a newbie dungeon, then how had any beginners even survived?
Qi Yu was certain if it weren’t for his miraculous luck exploding at the right moment, landing him a “boss plug-in” like Xie Shao, he would’ve ended up just like Pei Hu and the others: dragged away by Song Qing and disposed of however he pleased.
But there was no one to answer his questions now. He could only tuck them away for later. He didn’t even know how Pei Hu and the others were doing.
He’d been delayed a bit hopefully Song Qing hadn’t killed them all already.
As it turned out, Pei Hu and the others were still alive. But their situation was hardly good.
“It’s been so long since I’ve seen the living,” Song Qing muttered with obsession, holding a syringe and staring at Pei Hu, who was tied to a bed with his shirt stripped off. “Strong body, durable… you’re the perfect test subject.”
“Don’t worry. This time, I’ll take it slow.”
“I definitely won’t break you all too quickly.”
“Mmff!” Pei Hu tried to scream, but his mouth was stuffed with cloth. Bound hand and foot, he could only squirm helplessly on the bed, unable to break free.
The others were in only slightly better shape tied up like dumplings and dumped in a corner. At most, they could wriggle or hop a little, but the effort only drew Song Qing’s attention.
Whenever that happened, he would rush over, eyes shining with excitement, marveling at how “lively” the test subjects were.
After a few rounds of this, no one dared move again. They shrank in the corner, trembling, praying that Qi Yu wherever he was hiding would hurry up and come save them.
Even Pei Hu believed Qi Yu would come. But he didn’t hold much hope.
He was a veteran, sure, but he wasn’t some legendary fighter who could explode with strength and take on ten men at once.
He didn’t have any special bloodline, no secret cultivation manuals. This crappy game didn’t provide those cheats. At most, it sold a few overpriced trinkets. Nothing else.
Three dungeons in, and all he had was sharper eyes and a more cautious instinct than newbies.
But that was enough.
Experience meant knowledge. And knowledge gave him a deeper understanding of both the game and human nature.
He had guessed that Song Qing was their mission target. Which meant Qi Yu would definitely have to come eventually because if he didn’t, then once the dungeon timer ran out, everyone would die together.
Without that connection, though, Pei Hu wasn’t sure Qi Yu would bother at all.
And even if he did… what use was it?
Look at his own miserable state. If Qi Yu showed up, wouldn’t it just mean one more test subject? Completing the “total party kill” achievement?
Lying on the cold, broken wooden bed, despair washed over Pei Hu. He decided that if Song Qing actually tried to make him a test subject, he would immediately bite through his own tongue and end it all, rather than endure this nightmare.
As for blame, as for hatred…
Who else could he blame but this garbage game, throwing out such random difficulty spikes? A newbie dungeon at this level? Was it insane?
This was already as hard as the third dungeon he had gone through back then, they had five or six veterans plus three or four newbies. And now?
Just him. One single old-timer!
If he didn’t know for sure that the game was run by cold mechanical AI, he would have thought he had personally offended it somehow, and it was now throwing him into a death trap on purpose.
Meanwhile, Song Qing had turned his back to fiddle with something. When he turned around again, he was carrying a glass bottle full of black liquid, with god-knows-what floating inside. Chuckling, he approached Pei Hu.
It looked like he was about to pry Pei Hu’s mouth open and pour the stuff in.
Pei Hu squeezed his eyes shut in despair, ready to bite down on his own tongue but before he could, there was a sudden bang!
The hut’s wooden door was kicked open.
A familiar figure appeared in the doorway.
The players burst into muffled noise.
“Mmff! Mmff!”
Translation: “Help!! Save us!!”
Tears welled in their eyes as they stared at Qi Yu. They hadn’t expected that this seemingly small, timid teammate would have such guts barging in alone, and even looking so cool as he kicked the door open.
Awesome!
Take down that freak!
We’ll be here cheering you on! Go for it!!
Even Pei Hu couldn’t help casting him a surprised, hopeful glance.
“Oh? Let me see who’s here,” Song Qing chuckled darkly. “Another test subject delivered right to my door. Your face… very nice. But unfortunately, I hate pretty people the most. I’ll preserve you carefully, dose you bit by bit, and make you my final experiment. How does that sound? Aren’t you thrilled?”
Thrilled, my ass!
Qi Yu hadn’t expected to come face to face with such a pervert right off the bat.
Under everyone’s desperate, expectant gazes, he forced an awkward smile.
“Sorry, uh… my bad. Guess I miscalculated. Didn’t think your door would be such poor quality! I only tapped it with one kick and it just fell open. Well then, I’ll just… step aside?”
That last line was directed at Xie Shao. But to the people inside, it sounded like he was about to run.
The players’ eyes filled with despair again. Song Qing’s grin widened in triumph.
“You think you can run after walking in here yourself?”
Song Qing looked him up and down. He had been planning to go look for him out front later, but to his surprise, Qi Yu had delivered himself here and without any tools. Such a pretty face, yet such a fool. What a pity.
“Who’s running?” Xie Shao was pulled inside by Qi Yu at that moment, just in time to meet Song Qing’s mocking gaze. Calmly, he lifted a hand and waved.
“Long time no see. You’ve really grown uglier.”
Song Qing: “…”
Everyone: “…”
Qi Yu’s heart nearly leapt out of his chest. This man…
Truly worthy of being called a boss.
His aggro-pulling ability was top tier one line, and he had maxed out Song Qing’s hatred.
The guy had forgotten all about turning Qi Yu into a test subject; now his murderous gaze was locked firmly on Xie Shao.
If looks could kill, Xie Shao would already be dead a dozen times over.
…Well, he already was dead, so maybe he didn’t mind.
Qi Yu’s thoughts scattered chaotically as he carefully shuffled two steps to the side, trying to give the two big bosses plenty of space to duke it out.
But just as he moved, he felt warmth around his wrist someone had grabbed his hand, holding him in place.
Qi Yu: ???
He glanced nervously at Xie Shao.
“Brother Xie… surely you don’t need me for this? To avoid holding you back, I’ll just… stand off to the side?”
“No need,” Xie Shao said with a smile, squeezing his cheek. “You need to stay close, so you can properly admire my heroic bearing.”
Qi Yu: “…”
Heroic bearing, my ass!
Standing this close, what if he got caught up in the fight?
And who the hell fought battles while insisting on holding their sidekick’s hand?! What were they, glued together with 520 superglue?
But no matter how he judged him in his heart, Xie Shao refused to let go. Qi Yu was on the verge of tears, about to try and persuade him again, when Song Qing weapon now in hand, charged at them.
Like an enraged bull, eyes bloodshot, swinging a massive axe.
“Xie Shao, you bastard! Go to hell!”
Qi Yu: “……”
Wait, so they were already enemies?!
And the hatred was locked in tight, Song Qing didn’t even glance at him, the little player.
All this time, he’d been worried Xie Shao wouldn’t fight Song Qing on his behalf, tangled up over whether or not his “charm value” was high enough… wasn’t that just stupid?
The axe came whistling down, about to smash into Xie Shao’s pretty head.
Qi Yu panicked, howling as he tried to shake Xie Shao off and run, happy to be a quiet spectator-player.
But Xie Shao’s grip was iron-strong. He couldn’t break free, and Song Qing’s twisted face loomed closer, the whoosh of the axe nearly in his ears!
Run, damn it!!
Qi Yu almost tried to drag Xie Shao to escape. But the man was impossibly heavy, rooted like a mountain, refusing to budge.
And stubborn as hell, he wouldn’t move an inch.
The axe was just about to come down, to smash open that flawless head…
When Xie Shao suddenly hooked out a leg.
Bang!
The wooden door swung shut again.
With a sickening crack, the axe tore through the door, burying itself deep. Inside, Song Qing slammed face-first into the wood, then slowly slid down, leaving a long streak of dark blood trailing down the yellow-brown surface.
Qi Yu: “…”
The tied-up players inside: “…”
Wait… you could do that?!
Their voices overlapped in the air like a shared thought. Xie Shao turned his head, looking at Qi Yu.
“Hubby, am I awesome or what?”
Qi Yu: “………………”
Inside the room, Song Qing who had just gotten up, ready to start cursing, slipped and fell flat on his face again.
The players, who had been about to cheer, froze dumbfounded.
The whole room sank into a bizarre, awkward silence.
After a few seconds, Qi Yu suddenly sprang up like a coiled spring, violently shaking off Xie Shao’s hand. He waved frantically, not even caring whether the others could see or not.
“No, no, no! you’ve got it all wrong! Don’t go around saying nonsense like that!”
“What nonsense?” Xie Shao glanced at his now-empty hand, his expression unbearably pitiful. “If you’re not my hubby, why would I even bother helping you?”
…That actually made sense.
Qi Yu was momentarily at a loss for words. His tongue knotted, stammering you-you-me-me for a long while before finally hanging his head in defeat. He could only accept it.
Deep in his heart, though, a tiny whisper muttered, “C’mon, just admit it. At least he didn’t call you wifey.”
Qi Yu: “…………”
Right. At least he didn’t call him wifey.
Thinking of it that way, he actually felt… a little better. Easier to accept, even.
…The hell it was!
Qi Yu felt like dying inside. Just what kind of reputation would he have among the other players from now on? He didn’t even dare imagine, one thought and he wanted to dig a hole and bury himself.
The players in the room, mouths gagged, couldn’t voice their opinions, but Song Qing was still as noisy as ever. He clutched his bloody, almost-flattened nose, missing two front teeth, but still howling with laughter.
“HAHAHAHAHA…. Xie Shao, you bastard, so you actually got screwed! HAHAHAHA…. finally, you get your comeuppance!”
Qi Yu’s heart clenched. He peeked at Xie Shao nervously, half-expecting him to explode.
But instead, Xie Shao merely raised an eyebrow… and smiled faintly.
He looked straight at Song Qing and said, calmly, “You ugly freak! Are you jealous of me?”
Song Qing: “???”
Xie Shao: “You’re filthy, disgusting, don’t even bathe, and even if you offered yourself for free no one would take you. Me, on the other hand? My man is good-looking, soft-skinned, pale and smooth to the touch, obedient, well-behaved, and…. ”
The rest got smothered by Qi Yu, who slapped his hand over Xie Shao’s mouth in sheer panic.
His face burned scarlet. He never imagined Xie Shao would say such shameful things! What the hell did he mean by soft-skinned and smooth to the touch, had he touched him before?!
…Wait.
He actually had.
AAAAHHH! And why the hell didn’t he remember anything from that day? What kind of scammy dungeon was this, letting him get slept with but erasing the memory afterward? That didn’t count for shit!
Inside the room, the gagged players went stiff as boards.
It felt like they had wandered into the wrong scene entirely. How had the atmosphere shifted so suddenly?!
Song Qing, on the other hand, nearly blew a gasket from the insult.
“Who the hell are you calling ugly, you bastard?! Xie Shao, I’ll kill you!”
He lunged for the axe embedded in the wooden door, but it was wedged too deep, he couldn’t pull it out. So he grabbed a bunch of those weird bottles of medicine instead and hurled them at Xie Shao.
Qi Yu was standing right in the doorway and almost got splashed head-on.
But then he saw Xie Shao’s gaze darken. Xie rolled up his sleeves, pushed the door open….
….. And the players inside watched in stunned silence as a hand reached in from outside, grabbed Song Qing by the throat, yanked him out, and proceeded to deliver a bone-crunching beating.
The racket of bang bang bang echoed nonstop.
After a while, Qi Yu carefully stepped inside again. He raised a finger to his lips, gesturing for silence, then quickly untied everyone’s ropes.
Pei Hu was the first one freed. He stood, flexed his arms and legs, but couldn’t resist sneaking a glance outside to see how things were going. Judging by the screams… it wasn’t looking good.
Through the open window, he caught sight of Song Qing lying crumpled on the ground outside. In front of him stood Xie Shao, one foot planted firmly on his head.
As if sensing eyes on him, Xie Shao tilted his head slightly
…. and gave them a faint smile.
Pei Hu’s entire body went cold. His knees buckled and he collapsed back onto the floor with a thud.
Just that one smile was far scarier than Song Qing’s earlier cackling threats.
What kind of monster had Qi Yu provoked?
Qi Yu: “……”
Sorry, he couldn’t answer that one either.
Because he honestly didn’t know. By all logic, Xie Shao should be a boss NPC of this dungeon, lord of the ghosts but he had a solid body, warm to the touch, and… well, they’d even gotten a little too close once before. Cough, moving on.
When Qi Yu hugged Wang Yueyue, her ghostly body had been ice-cold, chilling him to the bone. That was how a proper ghost should feel.
But Xie Shao… he wasn’t cold at all.
He felt… human.
More like a player who had accidentally gotten trapped inside this dungeon, rather than a ghost.
So who was he, really?
And why was he sticking so close to Qi Yu?
Qi Yu was still lost in thought when suddenly..
Ding!
A familiar notification sound chimed, and a translucent game panel lit up before his eyes, alarms blaring.
【Alert! Emergency situation!】
【Mission target is being assaulted by the dungeon boss. His HP is plummeting. All players must immediately surround and eliminate the boss to protect the mission target from death.】
【If the mission target dies, the game will terminate. Clear attempt = failure.】
【All points will be instantly cleared.】
Instantly cleared?!
Qi Yu’s scalp went numb. Didn’t Pei Hu say points could be exchanged for lifespan? If all points got cleared, wouldn’t they be sent back to die instantly?
Panic shot through him. He leapt to his feet and bolted toward the door.
“Stop! DON’T KILL HIMMMM!”
Thank god for the system warning. If it hadn’t, and if Qi Yu hadn’t rushed out in time, Xie Shao might’ve already slaughtered Song Qing… and dragged all of them down with him.
Behind him, the freed players whispered nervously:
“Damn, look at his face, wasn’t it normal before? Did it just swell up like that?”
“That beating was brutal. If we try hauling him to a hospital, won’t he croak halfway there?”
“Then what the hell do you suggest?!” Pei Hu glared at them.
“You wanna heal him? Let him recover and then jab us all with needles? You suicidal or what?”
Everyone fell silent, cowed.
But as soon as Pei Hu turned his back, they leaned toward each other again, whispering in hushed tones, this time about something else entirely.
“Hey, that guy’s name was Qi Yu, right? How the hell did he manage to cozy up with the dungeon boss? And he didn’t even get killed? Aren’t they supposed to be on opposite sides? What kind of god-tier flirting skill is that? I wanna learn!”
“Learn, my ass. With that face of yours? Forget it.” The long-haired girl snorted.
“Didn’t you see what he looks like? Then go take a look in the mirror. Case closed.”
“I’m telling you, with that kind of looks, if I were the boss I wouldn’t have the heart to kill him either.”
“Hahaha! wait, you’re saying you’ve fallen for him too?” The guy with glasses waggled his brows.
“Don’t tell me you actually wanna fight the boss for him? You got the guts for that? Besides, he’s into men. Even if you were a knockout, he wouldn’t look twice at you.”
“Ugh, whether he likes me or not is none of your business.” The long-haired girl rolled her eyes. “That’s called true love, you morons wouldn’t understand.”
While they chirped away, lively as ever, Qi Yu was suffering on the other side.
“…Uh, Brother Xie, you…” Qi Yu swallowed nervously, and what came out of his mouth in the end was: “Are you… hungry?”
Xie Shao gave him a cool glance. “What should you be calling me?”
Qi Yu: “……”
He choked. No way he could actually call him that.
If hubby was what Xie Shao wanted him to say… then wasn’t the proper counterpart… wifey?
Qi Yu swallowed hard. The words refused to come out. He could only play dead and change the subject.
“…Xie Shao.”
Xie Shao looked at him again. He didn’t push the matter, but the handsome face was written full of dissatisfaction and grievance.
“You’re leaving.”
It wasn’t a question.
The game wasn’t over yet, players still had to return to the orphanage to turn in the quest before they could log out. But that created a very awkward scene.
Qi Yu had to say goodbye to Xie Shao.
Normally, players finished the mission and poof, auto-teleport. Sometimes protagonists in novels even squeezed in some last-minute drama right as the teleport countdown ended.
But Qi Yu’s case? It had turned into… a weepy farewell.
Qi Yu felt like some scumbag leading man, slept with the guy, didn’t take responsibility, and now about to ditch him and their so-called “child,” possibly never seeing each other again.
And worse, if this dungeon wasn’t a one-time instance, and other players came here later… wouldn’t that mean they’d bully his “wife” and beat up his “kid”…?
Qi Yu didn’t even realize he’d been completely brainwashed by Xie Shao’s words. He was now subconsciously referring to “the kid” as if it were real.
Even though deep down he knew, it was nonsense. Two men, one of them not even human. How could there possibly be a child?
But still… Forget it. He was leaving anyway.
Xie Shao clearly knew too. He seemed determined to seize the last chance to make one final move.
He leaned in close, pressing against Qi Yu, face tilted up.
“Kiss me.”
Qi Yu: ?????
Wasn’t this… a little much?
In broad daylight?
“Kiss me.” Xie Shao’s tone was firm.
…Fine.
Qi Yu’s heart softened for some reason. He was leaving anyway, so… He lowered his head, planning to give the briefest, most perfunctory brush of a kiss.
But the second his face drew close, Xie Shao sprang like a trap and bit him hard.
“AAAAAAHHHH!” Qi Yu clutched his cheek, wailing. “What the hell! Are you a dog?! Why did you bite me?!”
“Of course I bit you.” Xie Shao’s tone was matter-of-fact.
“That’s how you deal with a scumbag who abandons his wife and child. I had to mark you first. If you dare cheat on me, run off with some little hussy out there, just wait and see what happens.”
Qi Yu: ?????
Buddy, wake up! you’re way too deep in character here! You’re literally the dungeon boss, you can’t even leave with us!
Xie Shao just smiled, refusing to say more. By the time they left, he didn’t even come down to see them off, he just went back up to the attic.
Instead, it was Wang Yueyue who came running, clutching a small bag of cookies. She handed it to Qi Yu, saying it was for him to snack on if he got hungry on the road.
Then she tugged him down and whispered in his ear, “Brother Xie told me to tell you… see you in the next dungeon.”
Qi Yu: !!!
Bully his wife and child?! 😂😂😂 Don’t worry! Your wife has no plan of leaving you
