-What the fuck are you talking about.

ElephantCoffee shot back like he couldn’t believe what he was hearing, but Ye Uwon calmly scrolled down through his Excel sheet and spoke.

“The most important thing for guild contribution rankings is territory war, right? The more territory wars you do, the higher the guild contribution rank, and the more gold dividends you get…”Full novel: The Etiquette of the Gi Sehwa — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

-Yeah, which is why we rank so high. While you fuckers were off playing, we were busting our asses doing territory wars.

“Right. Thanks to that, our guild has a lot of territory.”

-Then why the fuck are you bitching…

“Why do we keep losing to the same guild?”

Ye Uwon’s eyes locked onto the numbers plastered all over the screen.

“And why is it always one loss out of every three?”

-Huh?

Dotbal scoffed.

-Newbie guildie~ Must be clueless about how territory wars work. You think it’s something you can just win all the time? Depending on party comp or skill, even for us—

“Exactly. It’s not easy. But then why.”

Ye Uwon tapped lightly on the table, then froze his gaze on a particular name.

“When it’s against the guild ‘nm02’, it’s always exactly one loss out of three.”

-……

“That’s weird, right? It could be two losses, it could be none. But how come the result’s always so neat and consistent? Only when it’s that guild?”

Except for the territory wars against nm02, GaeSae Guild’s win rate spiked dramatically. Meaning they’d fought that guild multiple times and lost more often than average.

Even stranger—it was always the same people fighting nm02.

“It’s pretty amazing how it’s always the same people who face nm02. What a coincidence, huh?”

The four people currently blowing up the chat. Dotbal, ElephantCoffee, TangerineFarmer, MeteorMagic.

They were the ones who repeatedly ran territory wars against nm02, and always with a steady pattern of winning and losing.

“And the math doesn’t even check out. No offense, but it looks suspicious.”

When GaeSae Guild lost to nm02, they’d lose about 8,000 gold—5% of the guild’s total.

But when they beat the much smaller nm02 guild, the amount gained was only about 500 gold.

Which meant that by throwing just one match out of every three, the guild’s net loss was…

“It’s like someone’s running an alt over there just to funnel guild gold to it.”

At minimum, 7,000 gold.

Which came out to roughly 100,000 won in real money.

(Assassin) NyamNyami: So they were running territory wars on purpose with some tiny-ass guild their alts were in; throwing one match out of three—

(Assassin) NyamNyami: —and skimming guild gold off the top??

And that wasn’t even the worst of it.

(Alchemist) QuengKang: So they fed their alts with guild money ㅋ and since they were still doing territory wars, their own contribution in GaeSae Guild stayed high

(Alchemist) QuengKang: So they got their GaeSae dividend payout too?ㅋㅅㅋ

They double-dipped on the gold.

(Mage) Jinhee: This is… grounds for a kick, right??? How did we not notice this until now????

(Dual Cannon) BaekKimchi: Easy to miss tbh;; we’re a ranking guild so just doing territory wars earns tons of gold daily; and those guys had super high contribution so nobody suspected them... Plus, the victory stats made it look fine...;;;

(Alchemist) QuengKang: No wonder they didn’t wanna leave the guild >ㅅ<

(Mage) Jinhee: Damn;; They were so desperate not to leave;;; Even tried to kick Gisekki instead;;;

(Dual Cannon) BaekKimchi: But how did YeU-nim figure all this out..?

The guild members pieced it together instantly and were floored.

-I don’t know what kind of bullshit you’re on about. Why are you constantly derailing the conversation?

Of course, the accused didn’t admit it.

Dotbal sneered at Ye Uwon, and upon hearing that voice, Ye Uwon actually laughed.

(Alchemist) QuengKang: ey~ Dotbalang

(Alchemist) QuengKang: u trembling rn?

Dotbal’s voice had started to waver, just slightly, compared to before.

-It’s always the fucking losers who bring up some weird-ass shit when they’re losing. We’re talking about Gisekki here, why the fuck are you bringing this up?

ElephantCoffee cut in, clearly pissed.

-That fucker Gisekki should’ve just kept his mouth shut, right? He made shit worse by acting out, now people can’t raid without a healer. He’s the one who got the guild blacklisted. How is he the good guy here? We’re trying to talk about that and you’re throwing out this nonsense.

(Guild) Jinhee: tf you mean who’s derailing what rn

(Guild) BaekKimchi: fucking lol;

(Guild) NaaPapaPleaseHealMe: I can’t anymore what the fuck are y’all on???

(Guild) ^Card^: weak male detected ㅋ

(Guild) no.10: Everyone please calm down for a moment ㅠㅠㅠ!

(Guild) QuengKang: ㅛ^ㅛ^ㅛ

Guild members who had been listening silently in the voice room couldn’t hold back anymore and jumped into chat en masse.

(Guild) HouseParty: You embezzled guild funds and now you act like this? Gross.

(Guild) NyamNyami: Who tf are they saying is derailing shit ㅋㅋㅋㅋ Who’s actually being disgusting here ;; Gisekki just couldn’t stand injustice and called out that Spirit Priest! Y’all committed fucking embezzlement.

(Guild) ButtCheeks: ugh I’m nauseous bleughhhh

(Guild) no.10: Guys ㅠㅠㅠ please pleaseㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

(Guild) LifeIsSolo: ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋcan’t even listen this is so gross

(Guild) NoDPSLeft: Why are you pressing skills when the trade isn’t even worth it!

“Also, everything you’ve been saying earlier… I really don’t get it.”

Ye Uwon, still staring at the chat, shifted his gaze to Gisekki’s name—his mic icon still off.

Whether that man was listening or not didn’t matter. Ye Uwon just spoke, evenly.

“Is Gisekki really the one who fucked up here?”

Ye Uwon was soft. With that round, gentle name, he lived a life where “no” didn’t come easily.

All through school people called him a pushover. He couldn’t turn down confessions or favors and often got into trouble because of it. One of his exes even said his softness was the reason they broke up. And yet—

“To me, it looks like he did the right thing.”

That soft kindness—when it sharpened into conviction, nothing could break it.

****

The four troublemakers tried to confront Ye Uwon afterward, but no.10 stepped in and stopped them.

222.png Guild Announcement

Hello. This is the Guild Master. I sincerely apologize for the disgraceful situation that occurred due to my poor management.

Recently I’ve been focusing too much on territory war and ranking management, and didn’t keep tabs on internal affairs. ㅠㅠ

After hearing YeUbeomjeol-nim out and looking into it, I found evidence that Dotbal, ElephantCoffee, TangerineFarmer, and MeteorMagic were linked not only to nm02 but to other guilds as well, so they were immediately expelled.

I’ll also be reporting and publicly blacklisting the four of them on the forums and in the guild leaders’ group chat soon.

I’m truly sorry for the distress caused.

The outcome was obvious. If it were just toxic behavior, maybe they could’ve worked through it—but embezzling guild gold? No excuse. They had to go.

(Guild) QuengKang: YeUbeomjeol-nim is fucking cool

(Guild) ^Card^: Came in halfway but holy shit that was badass

(Guild) NoDPSLeft: fuck dude you're sexy as hell fuck!

(Guild) Jinhee: legit so cool… bb to you

Once the dust settled, everyone swarmed Ye Uwon—still just standing there—to heap praise on him.

The only problem was, things were getting out of hand. Word had spread. Even people Ye Uwon didn’t recognize were coming to say hi.

(Guild) SIS: So this… is where a <hero> is <born>…

(Guild) ButtCheeks: your voice is nice… what perfume do you use?…

Wait, weren’t y’all calling me a villain just a bit ago…

Ye Uwon stared blankly at the chat window. Looks like there were more people in the voice room than he thought.

Feeling a bit embarrassed by the attention, he lowered his head slightly. He didn’t regret stepping forward—but the spotlight was a little much.

(Guild) HouseParty: Wait YeU-nim, you went through all that data in just a short time? Didn’t you come back from raid and this all happened right after?

(Guild) NyamNyami: Oh true, now that you mention it…

(Guild) YeUbeomjeol: Ah yeah I did turn it into an Excel sheet. But actually—

Ye Uwon gave a sheepish smile in the chaos.

(Guild) YeUbeomjeol: I didn’t look through all the data, so I just organized this month’s and took a gamble, haha

(Guild) ButtCheeks: ?

(Guild) NyamNyami: ??

(Guild) Jinhee: d Pdㅔ?dYe? Wait—

It was true.

(Guild) YeUbeomjeol: Yep ㅎㅎ The data was incomplete.

(Guild) SIS: …Abort mission! Pull back!

(Guild) BaekKimchi: Whoa… if it hadn’t worked, the one getting kicked out might’ve been… not those four, but you…?;

(Guild) NaaPapaPleaseHealMe: ㅇㅁㅇ..!

(Guild) QuengKang: ㅇ//ㅇ i fell harder now

(Guild) NoDPSLeft: fuck! now that’s sexy! bro!

(Guild) YeUbeomjeol: ㅎㅎ;; I’ll be back in a bit.

The chat window was on fire, so Ye Uwon decided it was time to dip.

He was tired from the raid anyway. A quick meal and he’d log back in.

‘Not here, huh.’

Before logging out, he cast a glance at Gisekki, who stood far off in the distance—completely motionless.
