[SYSTEM]
Do you consent to enter the Wilt Rose raid?
Before Ye Uwon could even say a word, a system prompt popped up right in front of his eyes.
Caught off guard, he clicked “Accept” almost by reflex, then stared at the screen with a bewildered expression he couldn’t quite hide.
Did they even look at my gear and class before accepting me?
Usually, when you apply to a raid party, the leader takes a minute to review your equipment. Whether your gear is upgraded properly or has the right stats can make or break a run.
On top of that, Ye Uwon was a Dragon Knight—infamous for being a poorly-rated class. If anything, they should’ve scrutinized him more, not launched straight into the raid.
Oh... they're in the same guild.
He figured it out pretty quickly. Everyone in the party except for him had the tag [GaeSae] attached to their names.
They must’ve all known each other. Maybe to them, it didn’t matter who the last slot was filled by—as long as they had five familiar faces.
RottenSeed: Weeelcome~ to this loooovely, dreaaadful~ space!
After the brief cutscene introducing the boss, Ye Uwon’s character, Ye Ubeomjeol, found himself face-to-face with Rotten Seed, a grotesque, seed-headed monster.
Rotten Seed was the boss of Round 1. Clearing him meant moving on to Round 2—where the final boss, Wilt Rose, awaited.
They didn’t even give us time to check our gear before charging in?
These guild players moved fast. Too fast.
Are they in a rush or something?
The moment everyone loaded in, they all sprinted toward Rotten Seed like they were late for a flight. Caught up in the flow, Ye Uwon scrambled after them, frantically adjusting his key settings as he went.
No tactics discussion either?
Normally, even casual runs had some sort of quick strategy chat. But here? Nothing. Not a single word.
Guess I’ll just wing it.
His keys were set. He was ready.
Ye Uwon moved the moment he locked eyes with Rotten Seed.
From the very start, Rotten Seed extended its wriggling vines to trap players’ feet and then launched an area-of-effect attack. If you didn’t dodge it in time, you could die right at the start.
Most DPS players immediately dodged the vines and dove into the safe zone outside the AoE’s range.
But Ye Uwon didn’t play like that.
You have targeted ‘Rotten Seed’! Rotten Seed is now focused on user ‘Ye Ubeomjeol’!
He drew aggro before Rotten Seed could even begin its attack pattern.
Then, deliberately stepping outside the boss’s safe zone, he made himself the target—and reflected the incoming AoE.
Again.
Of course, just one deflection wouldn’t cancel the AoE. As Rotten Seed prepared to send another round of vines to kill Ye Ubeomjeol—
‘Ye Ubeomjeol’ casts AoE Shield: <Call of the Sacrificed>. The Blessing of the Dragons is with you!
‘Ye Ubeomjeol’ uses <Roar>. The Blessing of the Dragons is with you!
In one swift motion, he threw a shield over the party and herded them to Rotten Seed’s backside.
Then, he slipped back into the safety zone himself.
Perfect.
The truth was, Rotten Seed’s rear was completely safe from AoEs. Not many people knew that, but Ye Uwon had discovered it through countless runs.
If he timed it right, the five-second window while the boss charged its AoE on him gave the party a perfect opportunity to unleash damage from behind—totally uninterrupted.
It was a tricky setup to pull off.
But for him? Easy.
...Huh?
Something felt off.
Why aren’t they attacking?
Even though he’d safely moved the whole party behind Rotten Seed, nobody was DPSing. They just... stood there.
Ye Uwon let out a small sigh.
...Right. They weren’t used to this.
Back when he played with Kim Heeyeon and her friends, he always explained everything through voice chat before going in—what skills he’d use, where he’d move, what to expect.
That way, no one would panic at sudden positioning changes. They’d know when to start unloading damage.
I should’ve said something beforehand... but I didn’t think we’d enter the raid so fast.
He hadn’t even typed in chat. His fingers had just acted on instinct—muscle memory from too many runs.
(Assassin) NyamNyami: What the hell was that
No matter how skilled you were, or how smooth your execution—if you didn’t have consent or coordination, you were just trolling.
And of course, the first confused message popped up in chat.
죄송합ㄴ22.gif
Sorry.gif22
He was in the middle of typing an awkward apology in chat.
(Storm Shooter) TrustingTheCactus:
Holy shit, that was insane.
(Sniper) no.10:
????????
(Berserker) WhereTheDPSAt:
????????that was sick???
(Physician) LeaveTheHealingToMe:
Uhhh what did I just watch?
Chat blew up all at once, flooding the screen.
...So... is that a good thing?
There wasn’t a single insult, but Ye Uwon couldn’t quite tell whether they were impressed or horrified.
‘Rotten Seed’ becomes enraged!
Not that he had time to figure it out.
Right as he was scanning their reactions, the boss must’ve reset its cooldowns—because the aggro he’d been holding on Rotten Seed suddenly snapped.
Almost instantly, jet-black leaves launched out from both sides of the boss, slicing through the air straight toward the party.
Okay, these guys are locked in.
They moved fast—like nothing had just happened. Like they hadn’t all stopped to type in chat just seconds ago.
Even while supporting them, Ye Uwon’s eyes were scanning nonstop.
Was the raid always this smooth?
Rotten Seed’s health bar was melting. Ye Uwon couldn’t help but be a little impressed. Back when he was playing with Kim Heeyeon’s friends, they barely made it this far. Someone always died by now.
And when that happened, the chat would light up with:
"That was bullshit."
"Who the hell’s holding aggro?"
";;Sorry, that one’s on me."
"Tank lost aggro again, seriously—can we focus?"
But here? Not a word.
They were clean. Every move was sharp. Efficient. It was obvious everyone knew what they were doing.
And the one that stood out most?
Gisekki.
The Necromancer was wielding a scythe almost as tall as he was. He zipped forward with a blink skill, landing right in front of the boss’s face. Then, raising the scythe high, he brought it crashing down—
‘Gisekki’ has marked the target with <Brand of Impudence> (AoE Damage Up).
A deep, crimson scar opened across the boss’s chest like a brand. It looked like a sigil burned straight into its body.
Then, without a pause, Gisekki chained into Scream of Impudence, followed by Execution of Impudence, weaving the skills together like flowing water.
Rotten Seed’s HP dropped in chunks—clearly visible, even at a glance.
So that’s the infamous Brand skill, huh?
<Brand of Impudence> was a Necromancer ability that gave the entire party a major damage buff.
But it came with a nasty risk—if the boss so much as grazed the caster, the buff flipped. The boss would become stronger instead.
It was basically the worst possible matchup for Rotten Seed.
Bosses like this had constant, chaotic patterns. What Necromancer could realistically avoid all damage?
That’s why most Necromancers avoided using it—or if they did, they’d retreat to a corner, sacrificing damage just to avoid taking a hit and losing the buff.
But Gisekki?
Wasn’t like most Necromancers.
He’s not getting hit. At all. And he’s still putting out damage?
He was dancing through every pattern, keeping the buff up until it expired—without taking a single hit.
This guy’s fun to watch.
Ye Uwon had felt it back when Gisekki was flaming that Spirit Priest—there was something about him.
Something interesting.
I should focus. Do my part.
No time to get distracted. If they wanted to end this quickly, he couldn’t afford to zone out.
Ye Uwon slammed his foot down, drawing the boss’s attention once more. The long, writhing eyes of the seed monster twisted toward Ye Ubeomjeol—and the moment they locked on, he activated a skill.
You cast Ultimate Skill: <Glory of the Sacrificed>.
77%
89%...
As the percentage climbed, the Dragon Knight’s body slowly rose off the ground.
And then—descending from above—came a massive dragon’s head. The moment Ye Ubeomjeol’s eyes glowed gold and his mouth opened in a silent roar, the spectral dragon did the same, jaws wide.
‘Ye Ubeomjeol’ declares the Ultimate Skill: <Glory of the Sacrificed>!
Beneath the feet of each party member, a glowing dragon emblem burned into the earth.
The moment they stood within it, a faint green light wrapped around their bodies—healing them slightly and shielding them with a damage reduction buff.
At the same time, Rotten Seed’s health dropped in a sharp, massive chunk.
The party froze—clearly not expecting that.
‘Rotten Seed’ screams in agony!
