The two men exchanged a look, as if they had read each other’s minds. They shared a smile and left the coffee shop.

Back at the company, Qin Huai’s expression remained indifferent, but his heart was pounding. If Ling Feng and Cheng An had truly been in contact beforehand, then why had Ling Feng insisted on marrying him? Could it be to spite Shen Yuzhi?

Qin Huai pondered this throughout the afternoon, remaining sluggish at his desk. By the time he finished work, he still had not found a plausible explanation. However, Qin Huai did not return to the Song family villa; instead, he headed toward the Cheng family villa.Full novel: The Fallen Beauty Becomes the Mob Boss’s Possession — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Since this matter had already begun circulating throughout the entire company, it was clear that the Cheng family must at least be aware of it.

Upon arriving at the Cheng villa, he saw Cheng An sitting in the living room, leisurely eating fruit. When Cheng An saw Qin Huai, his expression mirrored his mother’s perfectly: filled with contempt and disgust. Even though he did not say a word, Qin Huai could sense it clearly.

Qin Huai did not care, however. With a scoffing smile, he sat down opposite Cheng An.

Cheng An was not in a good mood seeing this person suddenly appear in his home. He furrowed his brows, his expression twisting into a scowl, and roared at Qin Huai: “How dare you come here again!”

Qin Huai remained unfazed, leaning back into the comfortable sofa with an incredibly relaxed expression. He slowly looked at Cheng An’s face and then down at his stomach, speaking in a leisurely tone: “Why cannot I come? You, a child born out of wedlock, are living in this villa, so why cannot I, the eldest son of the Cheng family, visit?”

Seeing Qin Huai’s provocative attitude, Cheng An was so angry he could not speak; he could only glare at him furiously.

After all, he understood his own status, so he had no room to argue. Furthermore, he was even more aware than anyone else of what his mother had actually done.

Cheng An let out a long breath, forcing himself to stay calm as he looked at Qin Huai. After a long pause, he finally asked: “Just say it, what are you here for? Is there anything left in this house worth you coveting? If it is about Ling Feng, hmph, I advise you to give up, because our relationship is very good right now.”

As he spoke, Cheng An passionately rubbed his stomach. Because the pregnancy was still in the early stages, his belly was not yet visibly large, but his action clearly implied that he was carrying Ling Feng’s child.

Seeing this, Qin Huai understood everything. He did not ask further, but simply smiled at Cheng An with such an eerie expression that Cheng An felt a sudden chill.

“What on earth are you doing? Why do you keep coming to our house endlessly? Are you not satisfied now that you can work at the Shen Group?”

Soon, Cheng An exploded in rage. He glared at Qin Huai with intense hostility.

Even so, Qin Huai was not angry. Although he harbored deep hatred toward the members of the Cheng family, hearing Cheng An’s absurd words still made him want to laugh. He really wanted to tell him that this was truly Cheng An’s home.

As a pathetic, illegitimate son, his arrogance was laughable.

Qin Huai curled his lips into a smile, stared at Cheng An, and added: “I just hope your son will not turn out to be some insignificant, illegitimate child.”

Having said that, Qin Huai ignored Cheng An’s boiling rage and turned to walk out of the villa. He climbed into the car he had purchased, feeling much more at ease.

However, he could guess the effect his words would have at the Cheng house tomorrow. That was fine, though; it would save him from spending his days bored in the office.

As expected, a few days later, Lin Xingxue rushed into the Shen Group, demanding an explanation from Qin Huai.

“What exactly did you say to Ling Feng?” Without a word, Lin Xingxue slammed her hand onto Qin Huai’s desk and shouted, causing all the surrounding colleagues to drop their work and stare at them with excitement.

With everyone’s eyes gleaming with gossip, Qin Huai could not help but hook the corner of his lips, looking at Lin Xingxue with a perfect, calm expression as he asked softly:

“What did I say to him? Why would I even be talking to him? I have been at the company these past few days and have no time to deal with your matters.”

Seeing Qin Huai’s attitude, Lin Xingxue became anxious. She pounded the desk again, her face flushed with anger.

“I do not believe you have not spoken to him! The way you are, there is nothing you would not do! Do you know that my son is carrying Ling Feng’s child? Are you intentionally trying to wreck their relationship?”

As soon as Lin Xingxue uttered these words, the gossiping colleagues erupted into a cacophony of discussion. The office descended into chaos.

Seeing the excitement on the faces of the colleagues, Lin Xingxue felt quite satisfied.

However, Qin Huai remained leaning against his chair, smiling as he said to Lin Xingxue: “It seems your son’s relationship with Ling Feng is not very stable, then. Otherwise, how could a few words from me, as you suspect, be enough to tear them apart?”

Qin Huai’s words made the colleagues stop. They looked between Lin Xingxue and Qin Huai, their eyes darting back and forth, as if weighing whose words were more reasonable.

“You! You are simply talking nonsense! It must be because you were jilted at the altar and are now jealous of Cheng An, which is why you want to ruin their peaceful life! I am telling you, you cannot do this!”

Looking at the nonsensical Lin Xingxue, Qin Huai sighed in exasperation. When dealing with people like this, if you do not take a firm stand, they never realize how angry you are.

“If you continue to spout such nonsense, I will ask you to provide evidence. If you have no proof, I can sue you for defamation.”

Even now, Qin Huai remained indifferent. The threat of taking her to court successfully stunned Lin Xingxue.

Seeing this, the colleagues began whispering again, but this time, they directed their scrutiny toward Lin Xingxue.

Seeing that her attempt to cause a scene was failing, Lin Xingxue felt incredibly frustrated. She immediately threw herself onto the floor and began to wail and howl loudly, completely abandoning her image as a noble lady.

She kept chanting that it was all Qin Huai’s fault, that he had turned their household upside down, and that she had come to the company to seek justice.

However, this was the Shen Group, and many employees recognized Lin Xingxue’s true identity, so no one dared to rush forward to help her up.

Qin Huai, watching the woman acting so crazily, felt no ripples in his heart. With a scoff, he sat back in his chair and focused on the document on his computer, having no intention of dealing with her.

When Lin Xingxue saw that the crowd was growing, she felt her goal was being achieved, so she cried and shouted even more vigorously, quickly attracting the attention of the senior management of the Shen Group.

“Everyone must uphold justice for me! It is this Qin Huai; he seduced my son’s husband and wants to break up their family. Who knows what his true intentions are?”

“He is an Omega! Even though he had an engagement with my son’s husband before, they are already married now. He should not be coveting him, let alone trying to tear their family apart!”

Lin Xingxue shouted with such fervor that many onlookers began to believe her, and they started pointing fingers at Qin Huai.

However, this scene was indeed having a negative impact on the company. The manager called over security to escort Lin Xingxue to the lounge to rest.

Afterward, the manager called Qin Huai in as well to investigate. However, since the manager was a member of the Shen Group, he was naturally inclined to side with Lin Xingxue. Qin Huai did not mind; he arched an eyebrow and followed the manager into the lounge.

“What is this all about? Qin Huai, you must give me a reasonable explanation. Why is Mrs. Shen here causing such a scene? You must have done something to slight her, right?”

Looking at the unreasonable manager, Qin Huai sighed. He folded his arms and looked down at Lin Xingxue, who was sitting in the chair with her tears already dried.

“Manager, do you even understand what is going on? You cannot just listen to her one-sided story and conclude that I have wronged them.”

Seeing Qin Huai’s attitude, the manager clicked his tongue impatiently and wanted to “reason” with him.

“I heard that you had an engagement with Ling Feng, but after you fled the marriage, it was left unresolved. Ling Feng ended up marrying your brother. Is that right?”

Facing the manager’s question, Qin Huai answered honestly, without telling a single lie.

“May I ask, Manager, where you heard that I fled the marriage? I, the person involved, did not even know that.”

After all, how could that be considered him fleeing? It was Shen Yuzhi who had taken him away. Although Qin Huai had not wanted to marry either, the one who caused it was certainly Shen Yuzhi.

However, the manager clearly did not believe Qin Huai. He slammed the table, glaring with hostile eyes at Qin Huai and shouted: “It is already in the news! How could I not know? Are you trying to paint your flight from marriage as something beautiful? It was your fault from the beginning!”

Qin Huai sighed helplessly, wanting to roll his eyes, but ultimately remained silent.

He swallowed all his intended retorts and watched coldly to see what these two people were going to do next.

Seeing that Qin Huai was no longer engaging with the manager, Lin Xingxue immediately grew excited and started speaking again: “He did run away, and now he regrets it and wants to get close to Ling Feng again. What a shameless, lowly creature!”

Listening to Lin Xingxue’s insults, Qin Huai showed no reaction at all. After all, such verbal abuse had been all too common for him over the many years; he was used to hearing it.
